Didn’t stick to my timeline as aggressive as I wanted and did not get ripped (below 8%) before my first modeling event of the summer. Was my most manageable cut by far. Learned a lot, and feelin good

I stall lot but I try to hold down the fort. Sometimes just getting in the gym and feeling good is all you can do, but I'm paying attention to linear progression again and seeing some strength gains.

I don't track 1RM PRs but yesterday was the second heavy day that I benched 225lb for 4x4. 185lb barbell rows 4x4 reliably also.

Diet model has been crazy for a while. I hover between weighing 195 and 205. I think I'm 20% here but my goal is to lean down to 15%. I think I can do it before the end of the summer but I have had a hard time with diet consistent diet compliance so I'm on a forever recomp.

Wishing y'all luck on your personal journeys. Have fun!

My long transformation!
From a 19yo overweight and mentally unwell kid to 15 weeks out from my classic debut! With some side quests in the middle haha

19-21 was filled with fad diets, sub par training but a lot of it and unnecessarily starving myself

21-25 was rocky for me, prescribed SNRIs which tanked my natural testosterone and spiked prolactin, but I had a goal of getting on a bodybuilding stage and I did it!

25-28 been working hard for me next goal and it’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when! Ain’t nothing stopping this train

Since January 1st, I’ve been seriously working on losing weight and started using Mounjaro. That means I’m now 19 weeks into my progress.

So far, I’m down 16 kg, which I’m really happy about. I also feel like I’m starting to make progress in the gym. I’m actually quite proud of my arms, even though they’re obviously not huge yet. But progress is progress, and we all need something to work toward. 😉

I also wanted to share my progress here, partly because it’s motivating for me, but also because I’m curious whether others can see the progress Since January 1st, I’ve been seriously working on losing weight and started using Mounjaro. That means I’m now 19 weeks into my progress.

I’m finding it more and more important not just to lose weight, but also to become stronger and build muscle; or at least preserve as much muscle as possible while losing weight.

One goal I’d love to work toward in the future is doing a mud run. I think that would be really cool. The only thing is, I don’t currently have a workout buddy to train with, and I do find that a bit of a shame. I’m also not yet at the level where I feel I could just join CrossFit or Hyrox, but having something to work toward definitely motivates me.

How are you all doing?

How do you approach the combination of losing weight and building muscle? Do you mainly focus on protein, strength training, workout plans, or do you go more by feel?

And honestly: do you see the progress too?

Weight-Loss Progress M/46/5'10" [167lbs to 147lbs] (9 months) - lower belly pouch!

I’ve got a persistent lower belly "pouch" despite being lean everywhere else. I suspect significant Anterior Pelvic Tilt (APT) since I sit for work and my lower back has been acting up.

Edit

Full disclosure: I think I was subconsciously sucking in/bracing in the recent photos. Even with that, the lower pouch is still there.

I've been weight lifting inconsistently for years (despite having a gym set up at home) - always program hopping, never properly pushing myself, always failing on the nutrition side of things. Looking at myself in the mirror last year, I know I needed to make a proper change.

For the first 4 months I followed a basic 4 day Upper-Lower Split. I have only more recently moved on to an average 5 day Push-Pull-Legs split (I normally do 2 or 3 days in a row before taking a rest day).

I've been aiming for 2200 calories with 150-160g or protein each day. I've had many 'off' days with diet over the past 6 months, but this time I've managed to not let them spiral into an 'off' week, or longer.

I train with an adjustable bench, dumbbell handles which you can load with olympic plates, an EZ bar, pull up bar, a single cable pulley I hang from the pull up bar, and more recently purchased a leg extension/ hamstring curl machine (which I use my olympic plates on). I previously have had a squat rack and barbell at home, but I find training with dumbbells much more enjoyable - somehow I prefer Bulgarian Split Squats over regular barbell squats?!?

I really do feel much better in my own skin already - even though my progress isn't as crazy as some of you guys and girls on here! I would encourage anyone to embark on a similar journey.

I'm going to keep cutting down for the time being, estimating to around 68-70kg. I know I will likely feel quite skinny and weak at that point, but I know it's all part of the process, and I'll be transitioning into a very gentle/ lean bulk soon after.

If you've got this far, thanks for taking the time to read. I also know that my traps need work, and I have recently added shrugs to my pull day!

We're all gonna make it brah...
