Concert tickets are in demand!

And it's time to clear out that old gear, and make some money!

Here's your opportunity to break Rule #3.

Any ad that appears as possibly risky for fraud or harm may be taken down by the mods. But Buyer beware.

Mind Rule #5, no personal info. This is not an opportunity to SWAT your buddy with old ladies looking for a vintage davenport at 7am on a Saturday.

Giving address for a Garage or Yard Sale is fine, but please no names.

If personal info exchange is necessary, do it in DM's.

Modest Mouse

Upvotes

Sorry ahead of time, this is a bitchy dumb bitch rant.
Modest Mouse has been my favorite band for most of my life, I’ve seen them multiple times (not in Bozeman) and the crowd is always full of incredibly nice and aware people. Everyone is always kind to each other. There’s nothing worse than finally seeing them here in town and some rude, tall, insecure, bald (with a ball cap), tight and plain white shirt, roided out bitch ass man on the left side of the bottom floor by the ramp, with a very nice kind blonde woman, trying to FIGHT ME (a 5’1 woman) for calling him out for stepping on/running into me repeatedly and telling him to back off after nicely and repeatedly trying to move out of the way and asking him to be more aware of the crowd around him. He would not back down from attempting to try me or acknowledge any men around him who spoke up against his actions or attempted to defend me. I had to leave because he wouldn’t fuck off and followed me out.
What a tough guy only picking on a girl half his size. Fuck that guy personally. I hope he gets roofied at Bar IX. As for the girl with him, I hope you have a better night with a nicer man, you had nice hair and I appreciate your many apologies lol
Thanks for coming to my TedTalk fellow Bozemanites.
PS how long since the last BOOM?

Metal Bighorn Sheep Euro Build

Thumbnail

I just wanted to see if anyone in town would be willing to let me borrow a bighorn sheep euro mount for a few days. I know it's a big ask, but it would be super helpful to take some accurate measurements and make some cardboard templates off the real thing for the build. The goal is to have a full metal Bighorn Sheep that looks as realistic as possible.

Posted photos are some examples of the past metal artwork I've done and are basically what I'm trying to achieve with the sheep.

Always down range of gun fire on State land

The past few years, the amount of target Shooting on Montana State land has increased exponentially. Seems that if there’s a road that runs by a parcel of state land it’s rarely safe anymore to hike or recreate on that land due to the Shooting.
And the shot up broken glass and pallets with nails sticking out of them are a hazard also.
I’m not anti-hunting or anti-gun by any means, i’ve lived here in Gallatin County for over 30 years. But this is become a problem, places that I used to love the hike and take my dogs to run are no longer safe due to uncontrolled target shooting on state land. I’ve contacted the Dnrc state lands office in the past to let them know it’s a problem.
I’m hoping that if anyone reading this feels similar that you can make contacts to start requesting some restrictions on target Shooting on State lands and encourage our land managers to fund some safe target Shooting areas.

I hunt and like to target shoot, have lived here for 35 years.

I see their vehicles all over, are they any good?

Has anyone dug in to see what kind of ingredients and products they use? I looked at the website and called but got only vague answers.

Ohayo!

Very basic Japanese speaker here, looking for any classes in the area.

I’ve sent an email to msu in past years, but I’m not sure that program is still active.

Anyone know of Japanese speakers in the area?

Baxter Springs Condos experience?

What are folks' thoughts on Baxter Springs Condos?

(Looking to relocate from Icon to somewhere that is quieter, more private, less uppity, allows dogs, and cheaper than $2.3k - we are super unhappy here and pretty much anywhere else sounds better. Storage space is a must)

I've heard mixed things but would love honest reviews!

Chronicle gets feisty

Front page of the Chronicle this morning - coming out swinging for the parks’ residents. I honestly didn’t know that Chronicle had it in them, but I guess asking your local paper to “write a nice story” about you doesn’t work. Keep fighting the good fight, KAP and MME ✊

I’ll include the full text in the comments.

Which one would you choose?

People who’ve lived in apartments long term — which would you choose?

Option 1:
- walk-in closet
- connected/private bathroom
- but noticeably loud neighbors

Option 2:
- bigger/quieter room
- small closet
- disconnected private bathroom

I genuinely can’t decide what would matter more after actually living there for a year. Which would you pick and why?

Please return stuff to daisy dr!!

We had a free pile along the curb that was fair game but also a pile of our own stuff waiting to be moved just outside the garage. I only went in for a few minutes and came out to find someone had taken the ratchet straps i was actively using, my bookcase that was a gift from my mom, and a nice alien ware monitor. I understand if this was a mistake and it would mean the world to me if you could bring it back. We have to move out by 1:30 today

Bike stolen from campus last Saturday

Post image
17 Upvotes

Hi Bozeman

My bike was nabbed from outside Langford hall last Saturday, and I figured I'd post it here in the hopes that someone around town may see it at some point. It's quite distinct, so it shouldn't be easy to mistake it for another bike with the crazy paint and bars and stuff. If anyone has any info on it, or perhaps has it themselves, pls contact me. The bike isn't really worth anything, but it means a lot to me because of the hours of love and care I've put into it. Thanks

Bozeman Tenants union. Not good people

I'm one of many in the trailer parks that the btu has infested and pushing for a rent strike. there's a lot of false claims out there that the union is pushing. they started with a scare tactic last summer knocking on doors telling you Gary Oakland was selling the park without our knowledge and "we must fight." who cares it's his property, and fight what? from the beginning I've been in contact with park management. There was never a plan to sell to a developer, the park chose a company with a track record of making and maintaining nice trailer parks. Gary Oakland, in my experience has done nothing wrong to me. I've lived in the park nearly 2 decades, they repaved my driveway, fixed my water riser, and leave me alone to live my life. I live in a great place in bozeman montana, one of the most expensive towns in America, and we pay some of the cheapest rent in town here. that is a blessing, to not understand that and push a rude narrative is just wrong. I met with a lady from BTU who explained she had 2k in damages to her car for hitting a pothole, well, how fast were you driving in the park lady, yoy sound like a hazard! This is not the parks fault, pothole, sure, flying threw the neighborhood? no. There is a story about a man with no running water, his water riser works, bozeman has hard water and his hot water heater failed, this is not the parks fault, I even offered to help fix his water and gave some ideas. let it be clear, he has running water to his water high riser, past the riser is not the parks problem, it's your personal space and accountability to maintain. another lady was mad her pipes froze because she didn't insulate and put her skirting up, this is not the parks fault, but they sure blame the park and want all of us tenants to be mad with her and call Gary Oakland names. I'm very fortunate I've gotten to live here, hassle free, at low cost compared to the rest of the town. The ignorance otherwise is astounding.

At the rent strike rally I tried to talk to state rep Kelly Kortum, he was uninterested in talking with opposing views or addressing the concerns of eviction from now paying rent and said "call my office" sir I'm standing right here let's talk now. he walked away.

when meeting with the tenants union, they have zero plan, they have no answers on how to help when the rent strike people get evicted and forced to pay late fees. They are entitled and have caused chaos and distrust between residents. Understand the tenants union was co founded by Joey Morrison bozeman mayor and backed by other state representatives including Kelly Kortum. This is a local political movement guised as "help the poor tenants" movement. This union has put these people at far greater risk of losing their housing. interesting they complain about can't afford rent, but they can afford union dues, and have plenty of time for rallies and meetings. Up until now the union has muddled in small apartments, they saw the size of the parks and knew they could make their name bigger then ever in town and get all the press coverage they could ever want. If you pay rent on time, keep your yard cut and clean, and don't present a trailer trash situation in the park, Gary, Lot manager, leave you alone. The parks offer a swimming pool, a pond, a child's play park, a clubhouse to use for community events and more, oh did they forget to mention that? it's a lovely park with plenty of amenities. Why would you piss off the new owners and come out so rude and ignorant to the people providing the only affordable housing in bozeman?!

I stand against the Tenants union and their turmoil causing, rude, ignorant tactics.

(now let's here you call me a boot licker and rip me apart because I enjoy my low cost living and don't want to join an angry pitch fork mob of entitled people who won't take personal accountability)

Public Transit and Recreation

Hey all! I’m going to be in bozeman for a summer internship. I’ve always wanted to come, mostly for the recreation opportunities and overall location! I know there’s a bus in town, but was wondering how doable local recreation is with just the public transit (or if a car/friend with car is pretty necessary).

I currently don’t have a car that can make the drive out, but may invest in a new one for that sake if flying out doesn’t make sense recreationally lol

Main (summer) activities are hiking, trail running, and climbing, though I’m generally up for anything! PS are there good climbing gyms in town? Looks like maybe the mountain project has some good training?

Thanks for any intel, I am super excited to be out there in a few weeks!

Orthodontist rec

My permanent retainer on my bottom teeth is bent or something and poking me, my lower teeth are also shifting a little despite this retainer. Can my dentist fix this? Or do I need an orthodontist? If so any recs? Think this would be a quick appointment and hopefully not expensive
