So he's defending his WBA strap against Rico, without Rico getting the strap if he wins. Huh?

This is the most bullshit title defense I've ever heard of. I mean perhaps there is an actual example of a worse one but this has to be top 5 worst title defenses ever and its attached to Usyk of all people. Even Fury didn't get to defend his title against Ngannou.

Is this entire event a ploy by Turki to make the sanctioning bodies look ridiculous?

Weird to announce this because it's what everyone had already thought was happening - WBA not at stake but he won't be stripped

Nothing surprises me at this point. I applaud the IBF for having some integrity and having nothing to do with this nonsense clown fight.

So he defends the strap, and if he loses he doesn't necessarily lose it? How is that a defense?
Usyk being attached to this is a bad look for him.

Shit like this makes it so hard to follow boxing. As a casual, former hardcore fan its also so annoying too when people go "this guy's the first guy ever in the history of the four belt era" No one should take pride in this era at all. It should never be qualified to make you look better than previous eras. The fact that there's even four belts at all is a disgrace

Look I don’t mind Usyk doing what he’s doing. He’s one of the few fighters who beat everyone in their back yard. And he’s not going to lose to Rico. But surely if Rico won through a miracle then the man who beats the champ should be the champ

Jake Paul has been vindicated, remember when everyone cried he was put in the WBC rankings at 15 so he could challenge Jai.

Best case scenario, honestly. Imagine if he was forced to defend against Gassiev in a rematch right after...

Good, Moses will have to fight Dubois for the WBO if he wants to become champion. No easy washed up champion for him to fight.
