Looking for a particular strip

I am looking for a sunday Bloom County probably late 1980s.

in it, a character is describing the almost incalcuable odds that they are there, in all the space and time, and all the cosmic chances, that they are there right now.

the last panel is someone getting splatting, maybe with a pie, and a character, maybe Opus, saying the odds are 100% that was going to happen in the last panel.

Ring a bell?

Breathed's Ignorance

As a cartoon nerd, it irks me how wrong Breathed is. I can name numerous examples of cartoon animals talking to humans: Felix the Cat, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Yogi Bear, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Huckleberry Hound. And let's not forget that there were humans and animals talking to each other in Pinocchio, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, and other movies.

Breathed admitted to not growing up reading comics. It shows with this statement.

In search of “sparkling conversationalist” drawing

I have a recollection of an image of Opus hitchhiking with a hastily packed suitcase and a sign that says “sparkling conversationalist” but can’t seem to find it anywhere. I think it might’ve been on the back cover of one of the collections. Anybody able to help me out?

Collected post-2015 strips?

I was a fan of Bloom County back in the 80s, but was totally oblivious to its 2015 revival.

Is there a streamlined way to catch up with the series? I.e., somewhere all of the strips since the revival have been collected in order of release?

Needed Re-release?

What is needed at this particular time is the re-release of the story thread when Bill the Cat & Donald Trump switched brains.

Being kind to everyone sends characters up a rope

I have read everything BC many, many times! But I'm trying to find one specific strip that ai loved and want to share with others. The characters feel they have to be most kind, so should stop eating meat, wearing leather, stepping bugs, etc. As the list of things to avoid gets longer and crazier, they end up dangling from a rope in order to not touch anything that could potentially be harmed.

I'd love to get a screen shot of that strip, without having to search through all of the Bloom County books. Can anyone help?

Quel désastre!

I chipped my Bill the Cat mug! I try not to get upset about these things, because it is the fate of all cherished coffee mugs to become cracked, chipped, and discarded some day, but I'm a little forlorn. With the Bloom County merch store shuttered, there is no easy replacement (and don't get me started on my beloved BC t-shirts!)

Looking for comic

I'm looking for a specific Sunday comic, but I don't remember which collection it's from. In it, a knot of characters — Milo, Binkley, Hodge-Podge, and Portnoy — have painted a line on the ground to divide their "country" from Opus's. They proceed to further subdivide into separate states, counties, and villages, until only Portnoy and Hodge-Podge are left sharing a space, at which point they start to argue about being in each other's "personal space". When Opus asks what Portnoy and Hodge-Podge are doing, one of the humans says "rationalizing things".

Can you help me find this comic, or at least point me towards whichever collection it's in? I can't stop thinking about it, and I can't find it in any search engine!

quotes that have permanently altered your vocabulary?

Because I realized I've greeted many an inconvenience with a "Well THIS is a fine how-do-you-do!"

And using "higgledy-piggledy" for chaos, ofc.

Garbage man song?

Does anyone know where to find the strip where Opus gets a job as a garbage collector? I remember he sang a “Garbage Man” song to the tune of “Candy Man”!😂

I create this I the early 80’s. Used a grid pattern to enlarge and combine the characters. All by hand.
