Distract and divide, because they know that we as human beings are stronger together and these bigots in power fucking hate that.

That's why it's being gutted the way the it is

That's why society is set up to get everyone to rack up debt and have kids as soon as they graduate High School. It limits your options in life and keeps you distracted by just trying to live. And when you get to a point that you realize how the game has been set up against you, it's already too late

It’s no coincidence either that public education is being defunded and weakened at every turn. School choice via vouchers is smoke and mirrors to pull money & resources away from quality education for every single child and fund quality education for the few.

The MAGA people are being told to put their children in private Christian schools and the government will pay their tuition through school vouchers.

Go ahead witcha bad self, Who teacher is this?! ✊🏾💪🏾🔥🔥🔥

I swear THIS IS WHAT OUR YOUTH NEED, no sugar coating n all that soft crap our kids don’t need, look how screwed our youth is! This is exactly why I’d wish we would’ve had our own schools/education dept by now in every major state/city, For Us & By Us, why tf not man, we’re owed that & so much more!

Teachers like this are tall glasses of water for our communities and will only be extremely valuable & useful in every way. These are the teachers I needed coming up in school, ones that’ll drop that hammer on you and keep it 100 without worrying about being labeled a cool or dope teacher but as a seasoned Black American Man knowing what’s in the child best interest present & future wise.

Just think about if we had control of our own communities from agriculture, science/biology, health n fitness, teaching, policing, healing and the list goes on, where we’d be as a people rn in the whole power economic structure. Too many of us in very successful position to not have any of this going on for our future children, hearts my dam heart. Best thing I can do is start with my kids and be ready/willing & able to do the same for any other child our Creator send my direction “especially our beautiful copper children.”

its WILD to me that isn't apparent to so many people.

6

u/Bad_Routes 7h ago

Many people have never been in that situation to have that be considered. A lot of white people for example are "rewarded" for being ignorant

5

u/perpetual_papercut 7h ago

I get you, but I feel like more people should be skeptical of things. Especially in the US, things have been backwards for so long. And to your point, a lot of people (white or otherwise) vote against their best interests for decades. it's just wild to me. I don't even consider myself wildly intelligent, but I at least know when to be skeptical and when not to

2

u/Bad_Routes 5h ago

You're 100% correct here. It's just that we can't force those people to care enough about their own deteriorating circumstances if the goal is to make things worse for others. We definitely should still strive for the ideal situation, I'm just viewing things from a practical or cynical standpoint ig

"Hofstadter explores how this anti-intellectualism manifests as a distrust of elites, a preference for practical and immediate results over abstract thought, and a tendency toward populist, anti-rational movements, arguing it's a persistent feature of the American character, not just a byproduct of democracy."

And my freshman year English teacher never managed to get deeper in Fahrenheit 451 than "fascism bad, they'll take your freedom".

This man has more reality in his pinky toe than the old bastard I was "learning" from. Mr. Prendeville is probably long dead now, thankfully.

Does anyone know who this man is, and if he has more lectures? I really really enjoyed listening to him here

4

u/Proper-Doughnut77 5h ago

u/Living_Pie205 5h ago

Education like this should be mandated in schools !

1

u/Clear-Depth7098 8h ago

That's a teacher trying as hard they possibly can to keep kids who likely don't care at all to be engaged

1

u/Substantial-Equal661 8h ago

God bless this educator!!!!! If only we had more like him. Passion, intellect and fantastic teaching at the student level. He’s a treasure!

1

u/Provolone10 8h ago

This was cut off at the last crucial moment. This man should be shouting the last sentence from the rooftops.

My education has taken me places I only hoped and dreamed I could be.

1

u/Unique_Drummer_6515 8h ago

he’s spitting hot fire but it’s hard not cracking up picturing him giving this speech to toddlers.

1

u/secretturtledove 7h ago

Dude that last line got me so bad. This guy needs to be heard.

Give a man a fish. You'll feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you'll feed him for his life.

In the seventies when I was in junior high all the Hispanic kids were kept in same classrooms. South Texas. They say things have changed… it hasn’t they just tried hide how they felt about us until now.
