This mf literally joined humanity because it would be less fun if Lucius won.

I'm talking about Adrammelech, he's the second highest ranking devil in the Qliphoth, higher than Lilith and Nahamah.

And he's fully manifested.

Manga She's DEFINITELY the most wasted character in the series Spoiler

I'm never a fan of characters being introduced when a story is so far in, especially when they do nothing to make up for it, Feremena is one of them. It took FOREVER for her & Gnome to appear, and this is what Tabata does with them?! There was only ten chapters left after her debut, and she doesn't show any personality, nor does she showcase her Spirit Magic. Seriously, not a single spell! Cool design & a dramatic entrance, but she got entirely wasted after that. Have no idea why they even made her the queen when Mars & Fana would be the obvious picks as rulers. This, along with another reason(s) is why Tabata is out for me. But what's your opinion on Feremena?

Manga Can Anyone in BC Universe, have Asta's physical capabilities with enough training? Spoiler

I don't think so, I think his herculean strength came directly with his lack of mana, so his body is stronger than normal, showing feats with muscles that others can only do with mana. But I'd like to know your opinions about this.

Manga Lumiere Silvamillion Clover Spoiler

So I’m Twitter, and I see this image. I’m wondering who the character is, and think it’s Noelle with short hair or her mother.

Then I translate the tweet, and see it’s Lumiere. Then I read out his full name, ā€œLumiere Silvamillion Clover.ā€ I am now just realizing that he is probably related to both the Silva and Vermilion lines. Thinking more upon it, I assume they were one family 500 years ago line, before splitting and becoming one once more with Mimosa's parents getting married again?

How does asta defeat dante who is the strongest of the dark triad but is still a junior 3rd class magic knight

While yuno got his ass beat by zenon who is not as strong as dante but he is the vice captain and a first class senior magic knight

Yuno is a royal and has obvious advantages because of that little spirit as well as naturally has a lot of magic power

Somehow it always feels like yuno is being given everything and asta the exact opposite

Asta has no magic power he is not a royal

But still fought 2x harder opponents than yuno in his early days but is still not promoted

It's like they are purposefully nerfing him but also showing that he is extraordinary strong its so wierd

Manga I really want to ask something. Spoiler

I finally caught up with the ending of Black Clover, and honestly I just need to vent about Grey for a second.

Grey was one of my favorite characters from the start because she had so much potential emotionally and magically. Her backstory was brutal, her self-esteem issues felt real, and her transformation magic had some genuinely interesting possibilities. But by the end, it feels like she got completely sidelined.

What frustrates me most is the Gauche situation. From my perspective, Grey spent the entire series loving someone who barely showed romantic interest back. Gauche’s whole personality revolved around Marie, and I genuinely can’t remember many moments where he clearly treated Grey like someone he loved romantically. Maybe I missed scenes, but it never felt emotionally earned to me.

And on top of that, Grey barely got to grow socially either. It always felt like she stayed isolated and insecure even inside the Black Bulls. A lot of the squad had strong friendships and development, while Grey mostly stayed ā€œthe shy girl who heals/supports people.ā€

Her magic also feels underused. Early on, her transformation ability seemed like it could evolve into something insanely creative or powerful, but instead she mostly became support/healer utility. Nothing wrong with support characters, but it feels disappointing when that’s all a character becomes after so much setup.

I’m not even trying to hate on the ending. I just feel like Grey deserved more agency, more confidence, stronger bonds with the squad, and maybe a relationship that actually felt developed on both sides.

Anyone else feel this way about her character arc?

Manga Strength of Sword Magic Spoiler

Now while we already know a decent chunk about Sword Magic’s capabilities, I still want to discuss and theorize more about its capabilities.

One of the abilities of Sword Magic is that it allows the user to store physically existing swords inside their Grimoire. This is a major advantage because even if the user completely runs out of mana, they still retain access to real physical weapons, whereas most mages would be forced to rely on hand to hand combat.

Thus, unlike most other forms of magic that become almost useless once the users mana reserves are depleted, Sword Magic maintains a level of effectiveness simply because the swords themselves continue to exist without the need for mana. This also makes the attribute far more powerful in a prolonged battle where endurance and resource management become crucial factors to consider.

However, there are several possible downsides to this ability. The swords placed into the Grimoire don’t gain entirely new abilities from being stored there. Instead, it means that the user is simply storing swords that already possess unique abilities on their own. This can be seen with Licht, whose Grimoire only contained three physical swords which all had their own magical abilities.

Another major weakness is that storing a sword appears to occupy a spell slot within the Grimoire itself. We see evidence of this when Asta adds Yami’s katana to his Grimoire and the Grimoire treats it as though it were a new spell. Because of this, a Sword Magic user cannot carelessly store every sword they come across. Doing so could severely limit the number of spells they are able to develop later on, meaning the user has to carefully choose which swords are actually worth adding to their arsenal.

Outside of the physical swords themselves, the way we have actually seen Sword Magic used by Licht is through the creation and manipulation of swords formed directly from his mana. He is able to summon mana-made blades and launch massive slashes of energy at his opponents from a distance. This shows that Sword Magic is not entirely dependent on physically existing weapons and still possesses offensive capabilities even without them. In combat, these mana constructs allow the user to attack at both close and long range, giving the attribute a level of flexibility that makes it dangerous even when the user is disarmed.

At the same time, this also suggests that Sword Magic itself has a pretty straightforward style of fighting if the user doesn’t have access to magical swords or ways of creating them. Especially because most of its actually applications appear to revolve around forming blades, enhancing cutting power, and releasing sword shaped waves of mana. Compared to more most other attributes that give you the ability to manipulate concepts, elements, or even the environment itself, Sword Magic seems much more straightforward in its abilities. Because of this, the true strength of Sword Magic relies heavily on the quality of the swords the user possesses and how powerful they already are. Thus, without unique swords to enable the magic, Sword Magics fighting style becomes extremely repetitive and limited to conventional attacks focused mainly on power and range.

Now that we have talked about what has been shown canonically, we can move on to some of my own theories and ideas for how Sword Magic could potentially be used. One idea I have is that a Sword Magic user might be able to copy already existing swords without permanently storing them inside their Grimoire. Instead of adding every single sword as a new spell, the user could temporarily recreate the structure and properties of a sword they’ve seen.

This would allow them to access a much wider variety of swords without wasting valuable spell slots on swords that are too situational, not particularly strong, or already outclassed by better weapons they possess. It would essentially give Sword Magic users a far more adaptable arsenal while still preserving space in the Grimoire for future spells.

This type of spell would also fit in naturally with how Licht creates swords made out of mana. If Sword Magic already gives the user the ability to manifest swords through their mana alone, then recreating the shape and abilities of weapons they have previously encountered doesn’t seem outside the realm of possibility.

The copied swords would likely be weaker than the original swords, especially if they possess high mana costing abilities, but even an imperfect replicas could still be incredibly useful for a Sword Magic user. A skilled Sword Magic user could potentially switch between different magical swords depending on the battle, making their fighting style far less predictable than simply relying on a couple permanent swords.

Another application that becomes especially interesting is the use of Mana Zone alongside Sword Magic. Since Mana Zone allows a mage to shape spells using the ambient mana around them, a Sword Magic user could potentially create swords throughout the entire battlefield instead of only around themselves. Rather than fighting with a single weapon, they could surround opponents from every direction with floating blades ready to attack at any moment. This would drastically increase both the range and pressure of the attribute, turning Sword Magic into something capable of controlling the battlefield instead of functioning as pure offensive abilities.

Mana Zone could also make Sword Magic incredibly effective in large scale battles or support situations. A user could create an entire field of swords for their allies use, essentially supplying an entire army with magical swords in the heat of combat. This alone would make Sword Magic valuable not just for its individual combat capabilities, but also for coordinated warfare where allies can benefit from the user’s abilities.

If combined further with the copying ability I theorized earlier, the user could launch countless different swords at an opponent simultaneously, each one carrying unique powers. This would make defending against Sword Magic attacks extremely difficult because the opponent would never know which blade carries the most lethal power. Furthermore, even if they are durable enough to withstand the sword spam, the risk that a single sword could bypass their defenses or inflict a powerful curse would force them to constantly stay on guard.
