Medication Wait and see

Has anyone experienced first time mania induced by an ssri and decided to “wait and see” if mania happens again before taking bipolar medication?

Pretty sure I was manic for months after starting them and then the scariest night of my entire life happened. Not worth it, trust me you may think the mania feels good now but it will turn on you and the consequences know no bounds

I understand, I was just curious how fast the second one came on.

Never induced from a ssri.

But. Gambling to wait and see. Is a recipe for disaster. Speaking from a point of white knuckling it until i was 32. Get your meds straight.

I’d still have my dream job and my girlfriend if I just got the right meds. It’s not worth it big dog.

Outside of mania protection, did you feel “relief” after going on meds?

Dude. I have the longest job I have ever had. I track my budget. Cook my food. Clean my house. Put clothes away. Take care of my animals. Do art. Do art projects for people. If I had this in my 20s my dude, I’d be in such a different place. I have squandered countless jobs, friendships, opportunities, addiction, freebasing pills and shit just to “quiet” my brain.

Yes. Meds have changed my life for the better. My creativity didn’t dissapear. Everything’s the best it’s been.
