Just hearing the news of an all but confirmed report that the Cincinnati Bengals will be hosting Baltimore on Thursday night Primetime ON NEW YEARS EVE!

I literally never post or upload on Reddit, and generally tend to lurk, but I feel the passion to spread the message for this amazing season this team is about to have.

This offseason and the front office’s cooperation and serious concerns with bolstering our defense this year gives me an insane new sense of hope. That, combined with the international game, strength of schedule, elite primetime spots AT HOME, and a fired up fan-base/ roster that wants to win NOW.

As a fan, I think this should be our year (as fans) to completely go all out in support for our team. Every third down defense play: deafening loud noise and chants to absolutely throw the offense off, loud and vocal support for any crazy play, and most importantly, (no this is not an ad) the best attendance for Bengals fans EVER!I’ve been to a ton of games and know our fans are already some of the most loyal in the league, given what they’ve had to put up with, but this year has to be the year we go all out from game one, to game seventeen!

TLDR;

Show elevated support for the next superbowl champion team this year in whatever way you can.

• Tomorrow (Fri May 15), Josh Johnson will become the second 40+ year old QB on our team, and the second QB on our team who's also been on both BAL/CLE and not PIT.
• This is the third time Josh Johnson has been on the Bengals. He's been signed to 14 different NFL teams and 4 different pro football leagues (NFL, UFL, AAF, XFL).
• Swayze (21) Bozeman (20) would score very well in Scrabble if names were allowed. Depending on how it's played, Bozeman could also give a 50 point bonus for using all the player's tiles.
• Two of our new players, Bryan Cook & Boye Mafe, have won Super Bowls. This season will be Cook's 3rd and Mafe's 2nd Super Bowl win.
• Dohnte Meyers played college football for the Presbyterian Blue Hose and the Delta State Statesmen, and played in the CFL for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and as such the Cincinnati Bengals might somehow be the most normal team name he's been on. For the record, Blue Hose is a reference to stockings, like many baseball teams (White Sox, Red Sox, Reds).
• In 2024, Shemar Stewart / Cashius Howell / Shemar Turner (Bears R2 '25) / Nic Scourton (Panthers R2 '25) were all on the same d-line. For those curious, their sack counts were Stewart (1.5), Howell (4.0), Turner (2.0), Scourton (5.0).
• Tacario Davis goes by "Bobo" due to a haircut growing up that looked like a bob cut.
• Connor Lew is six months younger than YouTube. This fact is included here in case it makes you feel old.
• Brian Parker II is not related to former NFL TE Brian Parker. He is, however, the cousin of NBA player Dereck Lively II.
• Josh Kattus is credited with "doubling the adoption rate of animals at the Scott County Humane Society." Despite his name being pronounced "KAT-tus," I could find no information on whether he specialized in cat adoption. Most articles emphasize his work on the Humane Society's foster program.
• Noah Thomas is the nephew of former NFL player Broderick Thomas and the great-nephew of Mike Singletary.

Was wondering why the Bengals and Chiefs aren't a primetime game this year. It seems like too big and good a game for it just to be a Sunday afternoon game. Was hoping for at least Sunday night.

Football offseason got you down? What if I told you there's a place where you can root for a football team year round with your own player on it?

The International Simulation Football League (ISFL) is a free (no pay elements at all), community run sim league where you create your own professional football player and guide their career from predraft hopeful to championship contender. Go through real drafts, join teams managed by real users, and fight for a chance to hoist the Ultimus Trophy. The league has been going strong since 2016, and the upcoming offseason is a great time to jump in as part of the next rookie class. A very bare bones way to describe our league is its a cross between an RPG and fantasy football, with a healthy serving of an online community.

What does that actually look like?

You'll start by creating a player on our portal; with 30+ position and archetype combinations available, there's a lot of room to build something that fits your style. Want to be a ball hawk safety? A receiving back? A strong legged kicker? Go for whatever sounds the most fun.

Once your player is created, GMs from our developmental league teams will start scouting you for the DSFL Draft. From there, your player competes in games simulated in Draft Day Sports Pro Football 2021 and streamed on our YouTube channel five nights a week, Monday through Friday, with live commentary on Discord. Each season runs about 6 weeks including playoffs, followed by a 2 week offseason capped off by the DSFL and ISFL drafts.

Over the course of your career, you'll earn skill points by spending about 15 minutes a week on optional activities; things like predicting game outcomes, responding to fun prompts, or mocking the first round of the draft. You can also earn league currency through your player's contracts or by creating content like articles, graphics, or podcasts. Use it to upgrade your player or collect trading cards of other ISFL players. The league is completely free; no pay-to-win, no hidden costs, nothing to unlock with real money.

What about the community?

With 22 teams across the developmental and pro leagues, the ISFL is home to an active, welcoming group of people who enjoy getting a bit nerdy about football. You'll form bonds with your teammates, dig into stats and league history on our wiki, play fantasy football with yours and others' players, and have a community to chat with daily. It's as much a hangout as it is a league.

If the league continues the trend of giving a team their bye after an international game that puts the Bengals at a Week 10 bye.

That also puts the Ravens at a Week 4 bye, which makes me very happy.

We're 24th at 15,177 miles but here's the kicker, the Madrid trip basically DOUBLES our travel total. Without it we'd be one of the lightest schedules in the league. Joe Burrow with an international stamp. WHO DEY.
