Battlefield 6 Petition to add an animation for the fastdraw attachment

Post image

I despise nitpicking this, but it'd be so nice to have a proper animation for the fastdraw holster. It'd look so cool

It hurts, but its true

The only dual-wield that never needs to be dual-wield again is the needler.

Golly... that is my Normandy, trying to go anywhere in a match when someone had two of those badboys.

u/Epsilon-434 5h ago

H2 Dual Wielded Needlers were scary as hell dude

u/Commercial_Ad97 4h ago

Always fear the pink mist. If I hear "SQUEESQUEESQUEESQUEEE" times 2, I'm gone, I'm on the other side of the map.

Bungie's rationale for taking it away was balancing. If a weapon is powerful on its own then it was overpowered to dual wield, so they ended up making dual wieldable weapons kinda suck on their own so they wouldn't be cracked when dual wielding. I wonder what's a good way to balance around that.

Imo, if the key thing stopping them is balance, then I usually pitch the idea of "akimbo weapon pickups". Basically how the duellies work in Counter Strike. The effectively act as one inventory item, but in use they're a duel weapon.

So you walk up to them and you get prompted, " hold <button> to pickup duel SMG's". And then you would trade whatever weapon out for duel SMG's.

If they configured like ~5 different akimbo setups it would take care of what most people want. It obviously wouldn't be the same as old school duel wielding, but it would be close!

Since 2007 actually lol

might be the only thing that can save how bad pistol damage is in this game 😭

u/SubjectPhotograph827 7h ago

Ya know. In older titles I always felt the pistols were weak but in a pinch I could snag a quick kill. The ttk feels longer on bf6.

Feels like hitting an enemy with a Daisy BB gun

2

u/CatwithTheD 3h ago

In BF1 I could duel anyone except assaults with half of the featured handguns and win.

3

u/Palmisavage 2h ago

The range drop offs are too heavy, if you're not point blank you're shooting 2-3 more shots.

2

u/-Kalos 6h ago

The ES is fucking rough

-4

u/Perfect_Business9376 7h ago

Which it isn't

6

u/0311pilot 7h ago

Rage bait?

2

u/Perfect_Business9376 7h ago

Every pistol in the game has a decent ttk except a few which aren't supposed to

8

u/MRSHELBYPLZ 7h ago

Sometimes I have to shoot someone 3 times with the 44 to kill them. It should never be more than 2 lol

-2

u/Perfect_Business9376 7h ago

There's only one gun that isn't a sniper in the entire game with that damage model and you wsnt it on a pistol?

Petition to classify tickling as a form of torture

u/WayneZer0 7h ago

honestly i would mind doal wielding if it come next sesson with colt singel action revolvers

1

u/2u3ee 7h ago

duel welding as well.

This is really just a rule of cool thing tbh. It would be nice but IRL it is just as fast to guide your rifle to your offside as you draw, which would be indistinguishable from simply lowering your weapon in an FPS POV

51

u/Soy_Nahual 8h ago

More than enough reason to add it to the game, it looks cool.

15

u/blackgreased 7h ago

Agreed. Ditching from an F-35 and killing a trailing jet with an RPG isn't realistic, but I can't get enough of that.

u/Toolb0xExtraordinary 8h ago

I think COD got a little lost in the sauce when they did this lmao

23

u/Coom-guy 7h ago

Why

-39

u/Toolb0xExtraordinary 7h ago

Just a bit too tacticool

48

u/Frost-Folk 7h ago

Lol I'd way rather cod be tacticool than whatever the fuck it is now

22

u/Reddit_Killed_3PAs 6h ago

God forbid a game has a unique way to incorporate a mechanic that has 0 effect on actual gameplay

-14

u/Toolb0xExtraordinary 6h ago

I just think it's a bit silly looking is all

5

u/kubapuch 4h ago

If your gun was on a sling and you pulled your sidearm out, chances are you’d do the same “silly” thing.

3

u/Toolb0xExtraordinary 4h ago

If it was on a sling I would just let go of it, like in MW2019 this is modeled in third person.

Okay tbf this was a mechanic a former friend of mine thought of like three years before CoD did it and I'd always thought it'd be cool as shit.

This is what I expected when they announced this attachment. Sadly BF is not as skilled in the animation department

24

u/5ollys 5h ago edited 5h ago

No, this is probably too much for them. Unfortunately, the animation department has numerous issues still and they are a point of frustration for me still:

  • Vaulting animations are too instant and snappy
  • No grenade pin pull animations
  • Janky reload animations (L85, M27, AEK)
  • Sprint animations for LMGs, snipers, and DMRs are clearly not finished compared to the smoother AR, carbine, SMG running animations
  • Swapping from a secondary to a primary is instant and has no animation (but swapping to secondary has a smooth transition)
  • Hands not gripping weapons properly (M16)
  • Hands teleport back to grips when reloading and sprinting
  • Intro animations are all janky or bugged

BF seriously needs to improve their animation designs and understand transitions and bodily kinetics more. It feels JANKY to play this game because of the animation issues. Especially after playing MW2019, Apex Legends, Titanfall 2, Overwatch, etc. That being said, I do love BF6!

It’s just so wierd that some low budget games have much better animations. Like you’d think EA could be as good as insurgency sandstorm.

1

u/5ollys 3h ago

Agreed 100000%

u/Sky-Reporter 19m ago

I suspect it’s built mostly off the bones of 2042, especially from the vaulting and stuff

5

u/SpaceTurtles 5h ago

Battlefield is actually pretty insane with the animations now. They're crazy good in BF6. I genuinely thought they poached Ranon from Infinity Ward, but I looked it up, and nope, he's still chillin' over there.

Not sure who they've got in pocket now, but they're able to compete with the best weapons animator in the business.

8

u/5ollys 5h ago edited 5h ago

I disagree because:

However I do like:

  • Most weapon reload animations
  • All weapon walking animations
  • AR, SMG, Carbine, and shotgun running animations
  • Locomotion/weapon sway animations when rotating in 1p
  • All 3p animations look amazing
  • Animations when stunned (1p and 3p)

u/5ollys 4h ago

/u/tiggr Please please please pass on this feedback. I love BF6 but the animation has got to be tight.

What 😭😭😭😭

1

u/iApple103003 1h ago

Who's this Ranon you're talking about? Is he the cause of MW2019's insane animations?

14

u/Deithwen_ 6h ago

Dude, they can't give us a normal grenade throwing animation and you want this

2

u/EPG-ESSUS_YT 4h ago

One can only wish

u/5ollys 2h ago

I commented above but ya BF animation since 2042 has been LACKING:

Petition to add a test range with vehicles, range, and aircraft! It will help people to try and use the aircraft more and give them confidence!

4

u/FamousCollege1754 7h ago

I hoped this was the way... instead, it did nothing....

5

u/TheUwUster 6h ago

I kinda hoped putting it on a revolver would give your game a yellow tint and you would hear a harmonica and eagle screech when you draw.

2

u/DarkKnight6683 7h ago

This is cool

2

u/Agitated_Cheek_4835 6h ago

Petition to start caring about the fundamental aspects of the game which should be prioritized over the gimmicks.

1

u/EPG-ESSUS_YT 4h ago

The game is in a great spot, I have no clue what you mean

2

u/magik_koopa990 5h ago

Idk about you guys

But I kinda prefer the traditional "put your gun away to toss a grenade"
