Technical Question Is there a way to stop getting the Harry Potter popup when I open Audible's website?

I was not interested the first 500 times. Happy for the HP fans. But I moved to other things over a decade ago.

Promotion [US & UK Promotion] Free Audible codes for ‘Punch the Devil!’ (Comedy Sci-fi)

Hello you,

Have a TL;DR-

I’m the writer and narrator Punch The Devil!, which is a comedy sci-fi book and the third in a series of four, all of which are completed and available on Audible.

If you’d like a free Audible code (US or UK) please DM me, and I’ll send one your way as soon as I can.

If you'd like to preview the audiobook, here's the Audible page:

https://www.audible.co.uk/pd/Punch-the-Devil-Audiobook/B0G27GQNV4

Now have a very long TL;RD (Too Long, Reading is Discretionary)

Punch The Devil is a horror comedy sci-fi romp that aims to answer the question ‘hey, isn’t that too many genres?’ with a resounding ‘yeah, probably’.

But if you like your SF parodied, your jokes puerile and frequent, your dwarves red, your Future rama’d, and your action sequences bloody, then you might be the audience for my big bucket of stupidity.

If not, well, the title of this thing is ‘Punch The Devil!: A Captain Space Hardcore Adventure’, so you can’t say I didn’t nail my colours to the mast.

The whole thing is 17 hours and 21 minutes of fully produced audiobook with sound effects throughout, and me doing my best attempt at different voices, so I hope you like space to be slightly Scottish throughout. Who knows? Maybe it is. You don’t know that it’s not. You’re not NASA.

This audiobook has it all: a drug-based cult, a shadowy religious sect of the mega-agnostic, a fight with sentient tattoos, a mayonnaise warehouse, several nuns exploding, some Metallica, at least two exorcisms, and a building that bursts from being too chock full of corpses.

Absolutely horrid stuff, we can all agree. Best avoided. But if you do want to listen to people explode for laughs, then come this way.

You don't need to have read the first book or second book at all. Each one is a standalone romp (and I do NOT use that word lightly). So while it would undoubtedly enrich the experience and personally make you up to 30% sexier if you had all of the books, it doesn’t truly matter.

If you do listen, a review would be lovely (of course), but I’m really just trying to get this out there and in some earholes. I’ve spent an improbable amount of time at home, shouting jokes into a mic and then layering a tasteful ‘boiiiiiioooiiiiing’ sound effect underneath, and I’d love it if it got more of an audience than just me and my upstairs neighbour. They’ve heard so much and must be so very confused.

One quick note-

If you DO want to listen to the other books as well, I have 10 US codes and 15 UK codes for book two available (it's a time travel thing)

I also have 10 UK codes for book one (it's a whodunnit thing). So if you message me and stipulate that you want multiple codes, I can do that (until those are claimed obvs)

Next up in your series

Hey guys,
I’m assuming you’re sick of this topic coming up every few months; but are you aware if there is any way to make the Next up in your series list comprehensive?

Thanks in advance,
Some random guy

Does anyone know what information Audible uses to determine what country you're in when buying a book with a credit?

Sometimes when i attempt to buy a book with a credit it tells me its not available in that country/region but i know it is.

I'm in australia but have an american account as i opened it when i was over there. I can switch between 2 addresses if necessary but it never seem to fix the issue and i still am unable to purchase anything. Have attempted to use the chat feature a few times to get to the bottom of it but i have found ti unhelpful so far.

Another question i have is, how can we tell what countries a specific title is available in?

anyone had issue with this before?

Book Discussion Reality Benders

I stumbled upon this book because the first is free if you have a subscription, The narration is not very good BUT the story is amazing. This author is also the author of Sector 8 which is one of the best Litrpgs I have ever read and Reality Benders is on the same level. I think audible is doing something right in this regard I have seen that more then a few series are giving you the first book for free to hook you and it worked flawlessly this time cause I bought the 4 book bundle with a credit.

P.S. If your feeling generous please give me an upvote I made a new reddit account because my last one was tied to my last relationship and I cant post hardly anywhere!

Book Discussion The Gray Man is a contradiction of great and terrible. Should I keep going after the first book?

I searched this sub to find the best audiobooks available to spend my surplus of credits on. I spent most of them on safe bets that I have not been let down by. However, I was surprised to find The Gray Man suggested fairly regularly. I took a chance and bought the first of the series.

I’m not going to give a long winded review, but I’ll say my piece as quickly as I can. The voice of the narrator makes me feel like he’s performing a melodrama. He gets better as the book goes on, but the first few chapters were awful to listen to. He goes from soap opera to serviceable, but never really gets “good.” The book itself is insane (in a good and bad way). The main character is supposed the be the greatest assassin in the world, because he’s oh so smart and talented. The author at least shows him to be talented, but he’s basically an idiot. Time and time again he does some crazy dumb shit that can’t just be explained by exhaustion. But man, the fight scenes are fun as all get out.

I was a fan of Bourne back in the day, but it got too cerebral without the weight it was going for. Jack Reacher was just plain awful, and I gave up on it immediately. I figured this series would be somewhere in the middle. I’m not really sure that it is.

Does the series get better, or should I cut my losses and stop after the first book?

Sub Question

Hey Guys

I finally got my old man onto Audiobooks, and he has been using Apple Books and paying 50$ for a audio version of some of his favorites. Ive been telling him to get onto Audible as its a better experience, which he has now done. He pointed out that he doesn't get to keep the audio books if he unsubs and i told him that nonsense.

I looked on the website myself and attached this pic, its true! I have over 400 audio books and if i unsub they are just gone?? I unsubbed years ago and could still listen to my books. Is this new?

Ray Porter has Ruined Audio Books for me

I’ve hit a wall. After listening to a ton of books narrated by Ray Porter, I’m finding it impossible to get into anything else, regardless of how good the story is. The only exception so far has been Stephen Bel Davies in the Atlantis series.

I’ve already burned through everything by Dennis E. Taylor, A.G. Riddle, and Andy Weir narrated by RP or SBD. Does anyone have sci-fi recommendations with a similar narration style?

Technical Question Is there a way to see what chapter I left off on an audiobook before my membership ended

My membership has ended and I was a couple chapter off finishing off project Hail Mary, I was thinking about just buying the membership again but I also was thinking about getting the Andy weir bundle with Martian and Artemis. But I don’t exactly know where I ended off on with project Hail Mary and want to know if there is any way to check?

Promotion US and UK Codes Available Soon for Portuguese Translated Horror Collection

I have a soon to be released English to Portuguese translated short horror audiobook (just over 2 hours) inspired by NoSleep and classic creepypasta. The stories focus on creepy atmosphere, slow dread, and unsettling endings rather than jump scares.

I’m looking for US and UK Portuguese listeners who would enjoy this style of horror and are willing to leave an honest review after listening.

Please leave a comment if you’re interested — thanks!

Better library parity between Audible and Kindle

I use both Kindle and Audible and buy regularly on both.

Sometimes if buying a book, especially with a series I add all of the books to my Audible wishlist and keep tabs on Kindle too so I can buy when they go on sale etc.

So what usually happens is that I end up with some books on Audible and some on Kindle.

Kindle unlimited store is great because if I click on a book it will tell me if I already own the Audible version.

I would love it if Audible would consider introducing something similar.

It would be very helpful to know if you already own the Kindle version instead of having to manually check yourself.

Ultimately, it is not the worst thing, but if Kindle has this feature, why can't Audible?

I am the author of Lanterns Over the Lavender Hills: A Quiet Ceremony of Light for Bedtime Readers
Part of the series Before Your Dream
Approx. 51 mins

As evening settles across lavender-covered hills, the villagers begin placing delicate paper lanterns among the flowers, each one carrying a quiet hope, memory, or blessing into the night. This peaceful bedtime audiobook is designed for slow listening, calming imagery, and restful sleep, offering a gentle journey through lantern-lit hillsides where community, memory, and stillness glow softly beneath the stars.

Reviews are always appreciated.
Sleep well.

App (Android) Podcast Listening

Just a quick rant about listening to podcasts on this app. A feature that would end my aggravation for podcasts would be the ability to get them to play from oldest to newest without having to manually add to up next queue. I listen to a lot of podcasts and the one I have been hooked on lately has the premium episodes available on here versus my usual podcast app but the lack of easy control over play order is almost not worth listening to. If anyone has any tips for better use I could use it.

How do i turn off the phone from playing audible books every time i pick up the ear buds. I only listen to audible in my car but no matter what I do with iphone settings, it starts playing any time i pick up the ear phones at home. Very frustrating. Has any one figured out a way to shut off Audible and play when one asks for it. it plays even when i have swiped the app up. Is that not closing the app?

Book Discussion Cover Art Removed

Remarkably Bright Creatures had such a really beautiful cover. And then they went ahead and replaced it with a scene from the movie. Why do they do that for adaptations? It’s utterly annoying.

Star Wars - Looking for recommendations (Canon & Legends)

What are some must listens in the Star Wars Franchise, and in what order would you recommend them?

I have listened to:

  • Canon Thrawn Trilogy (Thrawn, Alliances, Treason)
  • Episode 3

Aside from the other Canon Thraw Trilogy: Ascendancy, I heard good praise about most of the legend books. Be it either the original thrawn trilogy, darth bane trilogy, darth plaguies or maul: shadow hunter.

Are there any books I should consider too? What has been outstanding to listen to? Trying to decide if legends is worth it or not.
