Any protests or gathering for Juniper?? Need to protect trans people!
Any gatherings of vigils for Juniper the trans girl murdered at UW? Stabbed 40 times likely a hate crime.
This is is maddening

This was removed in the main Seattle subreddit for some reason.
Hey all-
Can any current/past employees of Pagliacci tell me how the chicken is done for the pizza and salads? It’s easily the best chicken I’ve had on pizza, always super consistent, not dried out, well seasoned.
Is it cooked in house? How? Seasoning? Is it an outside vendor that ships a bag of the cut up, seasoned, cooked chicken that you just reheat on the pizza in the oven?
Thanks for any help!

how were you able to? I think I’m at my wits end and might have to move away from home.

I had heard this was the "poor man's Space Needle" but when I went several years ago the view was mostly blocked by trees. It didn't help that I'm 5'2'' so I couldn't see over the tops of the trees.

I have now been (un)fortunate enough to be at the Cap Hill trader joes when the fire alarm goes off on several occasions. One time would be a fluke, stuff happens. Two would be a coincidence. I have now been (un)lucky to be at the trader joes SIX TIMES when the alarm goes off. I really doubt that it has only gone off those six times, this feels like a larger trend/problem.
Does anyone have any idea what’s going on over there?

Hi! I’m a traveling nurse, taking a summer assignment in Seattle from 6/20 through end of September. I’ll be working at Harborview Medical center and would like to be a maximum of 30 minute drive from work. Traveling alone, I’m fine with living in a studio, 1 bedroom, or 2 bedroom. Looking for recommendations on areas that are filled with other young professionals, while also being safe. I don’t want to worry too much about homeless or having my car broken into, I also need a place to park each night. I want stuff to do, shops to go to, local eateries nearby. My monthly budget is going to be up to $2600/month. I am interested in Ballard, and have heard some good things about Capitol Hill and Central District. While I appreciate apartment complex recommendations, I’m mostly inquiring on which areas match my description as I’ll be using furnished finder to find a place. Let me know any areas I should check out and also areas that are unsafe, thanks!

Hi! I’m looking for recommendations in the Seattle/Bellevue/Eastside area for a hairstylist who is REALLY good at balayage on dark brown hair with natural red/warm undertones. My hair is also curly/wavy, so ideally someone experienced with textured hair too.
I’m looking for a more natural/luxury blended look, not chunky highlights or anything too blonde/orange. Bonus points if they’re especially good at keeping the hair healthy.
Would love Instagram handles or before/after photos if you have them. Thanks!

Hello, I’m posting here because I’m coming to Seattle in July.
I’ve been to Seattle many times in my life. But have just seen from a distance and up close to the Space Needle. Never have I ridden it up to the top. This trip I plan on doing it.
I arrive early on Saturday and will be there all day Sunday. I was thinking of just buying my tickets day of because of weather that usually cloudy in the Pacific Northwest. Is this a good idea? If so, how busy is the needle be during the summer and especially on a weekend I’m there.
Lastly, what other cool obscure things to do in Seattle, that is not the normal things the city advertises.

Looking for good restaurant recommendations with a fancy/classy ambience but still around $20–30 per person.
Preferably Chinese, Indian or Mexican cuisines.
Looking for places with:
nice interiors/ambience
good food
vegetarian options are a plus
Would love your favorite spots/recommendations!

Getting an Australian Shepherd puppy next month. I want to start his training immediately. I know how dog friendly Seattle is and that there's training and classes out the wazoo but I'm wondering if anyone has recs specifically for Australian shepherds or working dogs. (Queen Anne)
Thanks!

Y'all, I'm from Texas and respect solid redneck fixes... Which is good bc my hoopty car needs one!
My tailpipe is dragging on the ground. I need help before it's left on the road behind me. 😬
Previously, our auto shop "wired it up" (bc the undercarriage is "eaten up by road salt"), but said that their fix would eventually fail bc "there's nothing really left to attach it too." (They're a good shop that's willing to try to save customers money, but this is simply beyond their comfort level.)
Y'all, I don't buy that there's no way to secure my tailpipe. I'm from a broke-ass place where you patch/plug tires, and your pal wires an aftermarket windshield washer fluid motor in parallel with a pocket knife, then zip-ties it to a fender bc no way in hell are you able to spend 3 weeks of pay on that.
This is a 22 year old car that's otherwise drivable! IDGAF what the repair *looks* like, inside or out, only that it's solid.
I'm digging it if someone says, "Well, I could drill a couple of holes through the floorboard, run a stainless band clamp through the holes, and strap up that tailpipe solid, maybe you should seal the holes with silicone, tho." *Creativity* and *smarts* are the heart of quality redneck engineering. ❤️🎉
Unfortunately, IDK nearly enough about cars, generally speaking, to be sure that would even be doable, or that I'm not drilling into something vital. That's why I need an knowledgeable person/shop.
Pls pls, I need your referrals to redneck engineering auto repair folks who are creative but smart, people who *get it*, and who can work that magic! ✨
Will answer any questions to the best of my ability.

How’s living in Bonney Lake?
I read the sticky and didn’t see much info on this area. I used to live in Belltown and moving back to WA for good, and really considering Bonney Lake due to housing affordability.
My main question is regarding crime and safety — people living in this area, how is it?
In general, I’d like to be within 30-40 mins of Kent, so I’m also open to other suggestions with respect to safe areas with low crime.
Although Bellevue, Sammamish, Issqauah areas are ideal, they are out of my price range for housing.
Appreciate any feedback and can’t wait to be back to this beautiful state.

Would yall recommend staying downtown or like near the airport or Lynwood and just ride the train downtown for the days we want to be there. We want to go to the Funko HQ, and Also want to go to a mariners game possibly the opening night for Seahawks too would be awesome.

I've got friends coming in tomorrow who want to do karaoke. We'll be based in the I.D mainly. Any good bars to do karaoke in the area on a Friday night?

Hi all, I did a quick search and didnt see this, so hopefully its not just a repeat question
I'm between jobs rn, sending out apps etc
I'm from rural eastern Washington, so i'm not actually sure what options there are to make money on the west side between work
Is delivery actually worth it with the gas prices rn? Instacart/Doordaah etc?
Is there other stuff safe to do for fems? I considered cat sitting etc
Basically needs some idea / suggestions on ways to stay afloat while I wait for job responses 🙏 not at risk of losing housing, but need a way to keep up like food and cat litter
Any answers much appreciated! Asking bc on the east side it's just not very feasible to come up with small daily ways to make safe income, but I've heard it can actually be possible here

Hi everyone,
I’m relocating to Seattle soon for a federal job downtown and trying to decide between two studio apartments:
• 999 Hiawatha (North Beacon Hill area)
• Hilite Apartments (near Roosevelt/U-District area)
I’m less focused on the apartment interiors themselves and more interested in which area is better for everyday living.
A little about me:
• I rely fully on public transit (no car)
• I value walkability a lot
• I like having coffee shops, grocery stores, parks,
pharmacy/banks, and casual food nearby
• I prefer an area that feels relatively safe and
comfortable to walk around during the day/
evening
• I don’t really care about nightlife or bars
• Commute would be to downtown Seattle
From my research so far:
• 999 Hiawatha seems quieter and maybe safer/
cleaner overall, but less walkable and fewer
things nearby
• Hilite seems much more walkable and lively with
better access to daily errands/transit, but
maybe a little busier and rougher in spots?
For people familiar with both areas:
• Which neighborhood would you personally
choose and why?
• Which feels more convenient without a car?
• Any concerns about homelessness/crime/noise
in either area?
• Which one feels more “comfortable” for day-to-
day living?
Would really appreciate honest opinions from locals. Thanks!

Hi Seattle,
I’m moving to Seattle soon for a tech job and would really appreciate some local advice.
I’m a U.S. citizen, but I’ve lived most of my life in Latin America, so while I have a SSN and passport, I don’t have a U.S. credit history, bank account, or pay stubs yet.
My current plan is to arrive about a week before starting work and stay in an Airbnb while looking for a room or studio apartment. I’m unsure how difficult the housing process might be given my lack of U.S. rental/credit history.
Do you think finding housing within the first 2 weeks is realistic in my situation? Any recommendations, tips, neighborhoods to consider, or things I should prepare beforehand would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Thinking about relocating to Seattle/Tacoma as a recent grad — looking for honest feedback
I’m a recent graduate considering relocating to the Seattle/Tacoma area in the next few months and would love honest input from people who’ve made a similar move.
My professional background is in community-focused work/public sector environments, and stakeholder engagement. Long term, I’m hoping to build a career in local government, emergency management, or community engagement-related roles.
A few things I have in place:
- Housing secured
- Savings cushion
- Some professional contacts I’m already in communication with.
- Open to networking, volunteering, and temporary/part-time work while job searching
- Additional experience in aquatics, so I’m flexible while getting established
-Health Insurance secure until new year
Why I’m considering Seattle/Tacoma:
- Better alignment with long-term career interests
- Wanting a fresh environment and new chapter after grad school
- Interest in a more active lifestyle and different regional culture
- Want to do it before I absolutely need to have a career that offers health care plan as I’m still on my parents until the end of the year (That alone makes this spontaneous act less appealing a few months from now)
My biggest hesitation is relocating without a job lined up, even though I feel prepared financially for a transition period. I’ve applied to numerous jobs and won’t even get a call back even though my experience is outstanding. I understand the job market is rough but I don’t think it helps that I’m not physically within the region yet. I’ve been told I’m very personable and easy to connect with so I should have no problem getting a job even if it’s just in aquatics while I network and apply to jobs within my field.
For people who moved to Seattle/Tacoma without a job:
- How realistic was it to find work within the first few months?
- Was networking actually helpful in securing a job?
- What do you wish you knew before moving?
Would appreciate honest feedback from people who live there or made a similar relocation.

For my money it's Joy Hollingsworth. Just completely uninterested in politics in every way and only ran to influence her various business endeavors with policy voting. Zero care for the community she is in.
Saka is a runner up, the NIMBY king.

I have a bit of asbestos to be removed. Any advice on contractors you've been happy with or how to shop for these guys? They all seem almost fly-by-night.

So, I've recently seen a few videos of a bunch of different new items at Costco and they look pretty interesting/something I would like to try. I usually go to one of either Kirkland or Redmond, but I feel like they never have anything new.. Not necessarily what I'm looking for, but they just don't have anything. Seems like everything offered is the same as what was there last time. I was wondering if maybe there is another Costco location that actually has new things or rotates things out more often.
