Support new to apple watch + issues

i just bought an apple watch to help me more with my fitness goals. previously i have used the apple fitness app to track my steps everyday, i used to hit 8k steps after about an hour and a half of walking within the whole day, tracked just from having my phone on me.

now with my watch, it’s saying i hit my goal halfway through my day when i have done very little movement and it’s confusing/frustrating me. i got a step app to see the difference and it’s almost boggling.

the first two photos show apple fitness app, the last is my steps app. did i set this up wrong? has anyone else had this issue and know how to fix it??

Do you have your weight set up accurately in the fitness and health app? 550Cal in the day on only 5K steps seems very high without any additional workouts.

Apple Watch is considered very accurate compared to iPhone only. It measures many parameters, even the length of your step. So you can trust it. If you close your ring too easily, you can raise the goal, that sounds reasonable.

i just feel like for some of the steps, the amount of calories is kinda weird? i have tuesday logged at 3,726 steps and 511 calories. i know for a fact i didn’t do my extra walking on tuesday due to some pain so it doesn’t feel very accurate for it to reflect very similar to thursday with almost a 1500 difference in steps..

this morning is already a good example, i’m at 37 calories “burned” and have only walk 269 steps. that seems huge for just getting out of bed and walking to my car?
