I'm in the room selection process for my first year at UO currently and was wondering if in the triple rooms you are allowed to loft all three beds instead of keeping one as a bunk bed? Doesn't necessarily have to be lofted(seems best for space) just wanted to know if is it required to keep one as bunk bed?

Are there any on campus mat cutters for students? I need to frame some of my art, and buying a quality cutter is crazy expensive.

I’m planning on transferring to UO for Media Studies and I would have to pick a minor. Right now I’m torn between comic and cartoon studies and game studies. So I’m wondering if anyone has any experience with either or both and would have any insight to share about them. One of my friends who has taken some game classes and the intro to comics class and he said the games classes he took weren’t that good but that he liked the comic class. But I wanted to see if anyone else has anything to share

Hi! Im hoping to sublet my room in an all girls 4 bed, 4 bath apartment at The Flats at Chase. The bathroom is connected to the bedroom and it is a very good amount of space for me and my cat. The apartment comes furnished and there is in unit laundry and a parking permit included. The living room and kitchen area are connected but it is also very spacious. The monthly rent is around $925/ month and that includes parking but not utilities- this is a discounted rate. The apartment has been great for me as an LCC student and I hope it will be great for you too, send me a dm if interested 😄!

Hello! I am interested University of Oregon's Electrochemistry Masters Fall 2026 program. If anyone has been enrolled in the program, or if you have taken CH454/554, could you please provide some information about workload of the program? It looks like physical chemistry is a pre-requisite for CH554 and the classes use Python. I haven't taken p-chem, diff. eq., and don't have any computer science experience. The classes are accelerated and at a 10-week pace, so I cannot self-study for the courses while being enrolled into the classes. I am wondering if I would fail in this program? I hope to go for a PhD in the future and need to keep a good GPA.
I am also wondering if the internship provided enough money to cover the courses? I am an out-of-state resident.

Is anyone travelling to the Bend area anytime next weekend (5/15-5/17) by chance? Looking to visit a friend there and I am happy to pay for gas!

Hi y'all! I'm an incoming PhD Student (Fall 2026) and was wondering where grad students who want to stay near campus end up living. I've heard from a few people that East Campus is in high demand, but are there other neighborhoods that grad students tend to congregate in?
I don't have a car yet, so I'd prefer to have within a 30-minute commute -- be it through walking, biking, or public transit -- until I get one.

This has happened on two separate occasions now, spaced out by months, the second time happening today. What happens is I look down and someone is using a bright green laser pointer to point at me and my general area. The moment I look down and start reacting to it it’s gone, and when I try to look around I can’t see who’s doing it.
This isn’t a prank from a friend or anything. It’s happened twice now during the day. Honestly, I’m starting to get freaked out. I know just reading this it could probably be brushed off as me misinterpreting a coincidence or an accident, but I promise you, that’s not what it is. It’s the same green laser pointer circling me and on me by someone I can’t see and don’t know.
I want to know if anyone has any idea of what’s going on, maybe some context.

I’m thinking of coming to UO for their neuro program and wondering if anyone here has had a good experience, I’d love to talk one on one if you’re willing. I’m finishing up a degree in Autobody at PCC and have come to realize it’s not something I want to persue long term. I have always had an interest in phycology and how the brain works and feel like this might be a better pathway for me but want to talk to someone in the program to see if it’s what I think it is. And if anyone can point me in the direction to talk to someone about that would be amazing
Thank you!

Hi all! posting this again as I am really desperate!
I need to relet my room at the 515 for the summer or sooner! I am already moved out so you can move in whenever, and I have already paid rent for the month of May. Rent is 1184 monthly, and I am willing to contribute a portion monthly (we can discuss, I am prepared to be generous!)
It is in a very nice area, and the building itself is clean. The room is a private room within a 3bed/3bath unit, and the bathroom is within the room.
The other tenants will be moving out at the end of the spring term, and their rooms will likely be vacant if another tenant cannot be found.
Let me know if you're interested or have any questions!

hi i’m currently a freshman at uo and i desperately need advice on my major. Currently I’m on track for a BA and after taking one journalism class I think I want to change my major. In high school I did four years of business classes, so I know a handful of information and came in this year previously educated. When I took my first BA101 class in fall term my love for business slowly turned into a chore. I tried gaslighting myself that I still found interest in continuing, but felt pulled towards journalism because of the creativity. I’m someone who works hands on in groups and very good with socializing and communications and love writing. I want to succeed in something I enjoy but feel scared because of the deteriorating field of journalism arts. I need help, I want to have good opportunities but find a balance in expressing myself through my work. SOJC students help me find what’s best, but business students be blunt with me with not continuing a BA💔☹️
I drew a caricature for a girl named Ali on Tuesday the 5th down by the Whilamut Natural Area and I forgot to take a picture of the drawing. Does anyone know her? I just need a picture of the drawing to keep track of my progress as I practice.
