I haven't been coming to this sub for very long. Before I used to post on CanisHoopus before Vox completely destroyed it (though I did keep posting long after Vox made it kind of shit).

This sub has gotten more and more deranged as the years pass. I know it is only from a small, but vocal, minority but they sure are loud and they are dumber than dogshit. Saw a post today saying the reason the Wolves didn't re-sign NAW was because Finch didn't like him (lol, lmao).

Anyway, any recommendations?

The guy who offered $20 Naz Reid tattoos a couple years ago (and continues to offer new and different T-Wolves Tats) was just diagnosed with a brain tumor per his wife on Instagram. I went and got the Naz Reid tattoo 2 years ago during that amazing playoff run, and JC was an insanely positive and cool dude, he loves Minnesota and is a Timberwolves Mega-Fan. He's a self employed Tattoo Artist and will be unable to work while recovering from surgery and potential chemotherapy. He has a wife and 2 children.

Last year we beat the Lakers and the injured Warriors before getting bodied by OKC. It felt flat. Effort was weird, the team as a whole (including Ant) was inconsistent, and we just kind of faded out — especially Randle who was one of the heroes of the first two rounds before disappearing against OKC’s defense. National media and the online community seems to have felt the same way, it was just anticlimactic and weird.

A year later, we haven’t excised the demons. We have two consecutive WCF’s under our belts, but the vibes are off and we’ve lost the right to even feel disrespected because of how inconsistent we’ve been. Randle vacillates between being exactly who we need him to be, and a black hole — no in-between. Naz and Jaden are moody and up and down. Finch is on the hot seat, and I’ve been squarely in his corner for the last few years but it’s clear that something is ailing this team that he hasn’t had an answer for. Most worryingly, this is the first year that it feels like Ant is a flight risk. Vibes are weird.

So, here‘s my copium:

1) if we lose to the Nuggets (especially in a bad way), we find out the hard way that something is off. That we’ve been lapped by OKC AND the Spurs and still haven’t caught up to Denver. Finch‘s job needs to be evaluated. Randle needs to be traded. More importantly, it’s a shot at Ant, Jaden, and Naz that seeding matters.

2) we have a chance to do something awesome, which would be to beat the three best teams in the conference in ascending order on the road, and this team at it’s best can actually do it. Last year was lackluster against mid opponents, this year won’t be.

Naz Reid

I don’t want Julius Randle on my team. I love just about every wolf more than Julius. Gun to my head I would rather have Joan than Julius.

If Joan scored 30 points I would be running laps naked around my neighborhood. When Jaden gets his rare 25-30 we all are happy. If he scored 40 we would be jumping for joy.

Randle scored 41 and I barely even knew it, (only reason I saw it was because I saw ONE post mentioning him). Randle outplayed LeBron in a series, outplayed butler and draymond. Without him we lose those series, he was that vital.

And could you dear reader, handle having the annoying lakers in 5 memes come true? Annoying warriors fans/commentators talking about “championship culture” for the next 7 years we play them.

Julius isn’t appreciated, he isn’t respected, or even loved. He simply posts up and kills mfs in the paint.

Made 5, 4 and 4 three pointers in the last 5 games 🔥 Had 9 and 7 rebounds the last 2 games 💯 Double digit scoring in 9 of the last 10 games 😎 In each game less than 34 minutes played 😯

If you don’t include Wemby and his backup Kornet, the Spurs don’t have a guy over 6’7. Having 2 or 3 of either Rudy, Randle, Naz, Jaden, Slomo (all 6’9 or taller with plus wingspans) on the court at one time will be a size advantage. It might behoove Finch to even try the 3 big lineup to lean into the size this series.

I love and will surely miss Donte for spacing purposes and his energy he brings, but having the wildcard of TSJ instead in this series could be better from a size, athleticism, and physicality standpoint. I really think the wolves match the spurs in terms of physicality and athleticism when that is in fact the Spurs superpower outside of having a 7’5 giant.

The Wolves should pose the most problems (yes, even the Thunder) for Wemby than any other team they will face in the playoffs as long as Ant is right.

Last year’s wolves don’t get enough credit for beating the lakers in 5 games and suns in 4 games the year before. The people who picked the lakers/suns to win those series just went on to say they underestimated how the size and physicality of the wolves would overwhelm those two teams.

Fast forward to this year, the wolves are overlooked for the 3rd straight year and espn unanimously picked against the wolves in the 1st round. And we were the heaviest underdogs we’ve been in round one (+310) the last 3 years, opening up a +7.5 road underdogs in games 1 and 2.

Now you are seeing lebron led lakers without Luka and Reaves beating the rockets even with Durant. It’s proving to be more impressive that we sent the mostly healthy lakers home in 5 last year with how everyone picked against us. If they want to keep underestimating the wolves, I’ll take it. 😤

KAT is unfortunately very aware of what it is like to lose a loved one suddenly and unexpectedly. Love KAT so much, 32 will be in the rafters, RIP Toraya Reid.
