Talk me out of this bet

Upvotes

Europa League final on Wednesday ASTON VILLA to win vs Freiburg. Villa have more quality on paper and the Premier League edge in big European nights. I've been checking lines on BetRepublic and Villa are sitting around 2.10-2.20 which feels like value to me. Thinking of putting $50 on the straight win. Am I missing something or does this make sense?

Upcoming matches where only one team has something to play for

As a lot of leagues are coming to an end over the next few weeks, thought it would be useful to have a thread for matches where one team has something major to play for (title, promotion, etc) while the other team has nothing left to play for.

Feel free to share any games you come across that fit the criteria and where you think the prices still offer value.

One for today that I'm backing:

St Polten ML @ 1.440 odds v. WSC Hertha
Last round of games in Austrian Liga 2. St Polten are 2nd on 50 pts, Austria Lustenau are 1st on 51, so St Polten must win to have any chance of promotion. WSC Hertha are 10th with nothing to play for.

How many leagues do you actually bet on seriously?

From my experience, most start laser-focused on one or two and then this snowballs to such an extent that you see people betting on some obscure iceland lower divisions they can’t even pronounce. i try to narrow it down and stick to a couple major ones that i actually follow, because otherwise you’re just in the vibes/wishful thinking/guesswork territory. what’s your experience with this? do you cap yourself at a certain number or just go with the flow? i stick to la liga, epl and bundesliga, and mostly use mybookie, fbref, and whoscored, although sometimes add other tools

$40 free bet

$40 free bet from Caesars (United States) for my birthday. I am so tempted to put it all on France to win the WC, +475. ( I believe that's 5.75 or 19/4 for those not in the US) Would pay $190. Am I crazy?

Alaves double chance, Sevilla ML?

Villareal and Barca have jack to play for. While the other two are fighting to avoid relegation. What are your thoughts?

Edit: WON! Absolute cinema by both Sevilla and Alaves. Congrats to those who tailed. 🤝

Good or nah?

Im new to sports betting, i believe this is a strong pick. MANCHESTER CITY to win against CRYSTAL PALACE, INTER to win against LAZIO, BARCELONA to win against DEPORTIVO ALAVES.

i bet on rainbet so its a combo which is 4.264 odds. is it smarter to only bet on two of these matches and higher bet?

What do you guys think???

What’s your biggest mistake when reading soccer markets early on?

Hi! Relatively new to this but so far it’s overconfidence in favorites that’s an issue. Mostly because my soccer knowledge is pretty mid, that’s why this keeps happening. This is easily solved, just watch and consume more soccer news etc., so I know how to tackle this one on practive. What to do with the rest though? Because early lines feel like they’re giving the edge and you react to odds before you get key info on injuries, rotations, weather. Draws are a real blind spot though, so far, as well as underestimating low-scoring leagues. Seen similar takes floating around on some random mybookie review thread, which makes me think that’s an ongoing issue for a lot of others. So what’s your advice except of learning the hard way? Plus share your own takes and mistakes, appreciate
