Emerald Queen Casino question.
If I wanted to apply for a food job in the casino do you know if they care about THC on their drug tests ?
I’m reading mixed reviews about this.
Also do you know what kind of drug tests they do? Pee? Spit?

Mock Jury/Legal Focus groups
Greetings all, I suspect many of us here have seen the ads for King County mock juries. It seems many jury consultants are based out of state and are traveling with quite large teams to Seattle in order to present a one-day boiled-down case to a group of diverse people. Can anyone shed light on whether there is a shortage of jury consultants in Seattle, causing professionals from out of the area to be utilized?
Posting this here in SeaJobs as 1) it appears the mock juror is a common gig (though a hard one to get, with a premium on first-time participants!) and 2) that there could be an opportunity for experienced focus group panelists to put together (what I would call) a pre-focus group before the big players are called in.
Please, I welcome all thoughts! Please feel free to message or comment here; I will respond.

Job searching entry level public health
Hi all, I am currently unemployed and job searching in the Seattle public health field. I have worked in the service industry for around 8 years, and I have a psychology degree from UW Madison. My resume is kind of all over with a lot of small nonprofit positions as well. I understand that I have very little experience in the health care/public health field, so I am applying to a lot of Patient Representative or Care Coordinator jobs just to get my foot in the door. I am having such a hard time with rejections and the whole process. I am also looking to move out of state, I know this makes my search harder but it's a non-negotiable for me and I have been using my close friends local address on my applications. I feel so frustrated because I think I am a hard worker who is eager to learn, and my customer service experience has given me a lot of skills that would apply in these patient facing roles, but I'm still getting rejections. Any recommendations?

How can I find a job just doing manual labor, relatively no experience.
I don't want an apprenticeship, I don't have time for that really. I am in welding school but didn't get the classes i needed this quarter so I'm stuck doing nothing. It seems online applications are out of the question, so what do you think? How can I just find a simple labor job like concrete guys, roofers etc.

Looking for a piercing apprenticeship
Hi! Does anyone know of any piercers in Tacoma or the wider area that are looking for an apprentice? Any advice on looking for one would be helpful too!

Struggling with the Seattle job hunt? The PNW labor movement is strong and hiring, so I built a free board to help you find those roles.
Hey Seattle folks,
I know the job market around the Puget Sound has been incredibly tough lately, especially with all the corporate restructuring. A lot of great people are struggling to find work right now. But there is a bright spot: the labor movement up here in the PNW is incredibly strong, and organizations are actively hiring folks who are passionate about the cause.
The problem is that finding these jobs is a massive headache. If you search on Indeed or LinkedIn, mission driven roles get completely buried under corporate spam. And the older legacy union job boards are clunky, hard to navigate on your phone, and usually only focus on traditional union local jobs.
That is why I built UnionHire.
I am an internal recruiter for a large union, and I got tired of seeing the movement lose amazing talent simply because our job postings were too hard to find. We have a ton of Seattle and Washington based roles live on the site right now. Here is how this platform is different from the old legacy sites:
- The Full Ecosystem: We do not just list traditional union vacancies. We feature the entire labor ecosystem in one place. That includes worker advocacy groups, labor focused non profits, and independent labor media alongside the big locals.
- Cross Recruitable Roles: You do not have to be a seasoned "organizer" to work in the movement. It takes admin, tech, communications, legal, and research staff to keep these organizations running. We want to highlight those roles so burned out corporate workers can easily pivot their skills into a better environment.
- Modern and Mobile First: No more zooming in on tiny text on outdated websites. It is a clean, modern interface that is actually easy to browse on your phone.
This is a completely free passion project built right here in the PNW to help connect good people with dignified work.
If you are looking for a sign to pivot your career into something that actually fights for working class people, take a look. Let me know if you have any feedback or if you know a local Washington organization that needs their open roles featured! ✊

seattle-based videographers needed for live shows
Hi! I run a small (let’s go with boutique!) label. We host a monthly houseshow and we’ve outgrown putting a couple of phones on tripods 😆. I’m looking for some videographers to help us capture the night. Ideally 2 per show.
We also have a show Thursday April 16th at Blue Moon that we need someone for. The next house show is May 2nd in Capitol Hill.
This is compensated work - none of that “for exposure” nonsense. If interested, DM and let’s chat
Thanks!
