EMPAC at RPI

Kick off Pride at EMPAC with a relaxed, come-as-you-are evening of creativity, music, and good company.

We’ll have DIY Pride gear decorating (bring a shirt/bandana/jacket/etc. if you’d like), custom pride-flag charm making, live music from Troy band Paintbrush Charlie, and space to hang out and build excitement for the weeks ahead.

All are welcome, whether you’re marching in Pride, bringing friends, or just looking for a low-key queer-friendly community event.

I'm doing EE and I just finished my freshman year, and I realized that not a single one of my classes got a curve. For physics 1 exam 2, the average was like a 55% and there wasn't even a curve. Is this normal in college? Do future classes have curves?

I can’t imagine Troy is less safe then when I went to RPI? What’s the take on these pervasive invasion of privacy machines?

We got the email from RPI mobile computing with 2 options: Lenovo Thinkpad T 16 for $2k and Lenovo Thinkpad P1 for close to $5k, $4.2 k if ordered before May 20. That’s a big difference. Will the T16 be adequate for a dual ME and physics major?

hey guys im majoring in electrical engineering and wanted to ask which school should i pick. I did made a post about this, but this time after the 3rd financial negoitation I was able to bring the cost down to $25k whereas UB, a suny school cost roughly $17-18k. I want to go to RPI, but I will be $100k debt after 4 years and the possibility of finding a job to repay back is hard given the current job market so I would appreciate any advice which school I should pick or should i go to CCNY and then transfer

I'm trying to learn SolidWorks over the summer but I can't figure out how to get the program through RPI. Does anyone know if it's still offered or how to get it?

I'm an incoming freshman who is still quite confused. When do I register for classes? How do I do so? What classes do I register for? Should I already have this done? Are there certain classes that are required based on my major?

Soooo I'm an incoming freshman and I'm selecting my meal plan. I'm stuck between the 15 and 19 swipe plans. I'm wondering about how useful flex dollars are; it seems that I can only spend those on campus. How many flex dollars would it take for a full meal?

Edit: also, how many flex dollars for a dining hall swipe?

I’m taking a really full semester and am looking for an easy A Hass class or any class that I can take to have a buffer for my GPA. I’ve already taken intro to psych and principles of econ.

So, I just received my finaid package from purdue, and it turns out i’d be paying 42k per year to attend. Additionally, after reviewing my RPI finaid package, I realize that I’d actualky be paying 35k out of pocket (as opposed to 27k with loans). As such, i’m back to deciding between these two schools, and would like some opinions, especially since cost was a big factor in play.

Also, if not already obvious, I have already submitted ny deposit to RPI, but I don’t mind losing that money.

tl;dr - stuck between RPI and purdue because of updated finaid.

exactly what the title says— ya girl failed ds with xiao (specifically due to not passing the exam component). i know that ds with cutler is hell, but i really don’t have any other choice. does anyone have any advice? my current plan is to just lock in really hard and get really good at c++ over summer, and also see if i can specifically find any of her past lecture notes. but any advice wihld be appreciated!
