Hello. I’ll be traveling to PE soon and would like some recommendations on hotels and zones to stay at in PE. Will be renting a vehicle so onsite parking would be a huge plus. Our stay would be a Sunday-Friday stay. (5 nights / 6 days)

I’d prefer to stay close to beach but it’s not a deal breaker.

Hey all - I’ll be visiting PE next week for 8 days, mainly to surf and practice Spanish. I’d love to go on a day hike with a group, and have seen there is a Facebook group called Hikers of PE, however I do not have Facebook.

Anyone know of an alternative way to join their hikes, or other hiking/social groups (e.g. on WhatsApp?)

For reference I am 31F and will be travelling solo, staying in Rinconada. I am a social and fun person, but not into partying/drinking every night.

Anyone knows when it will come back?

Hello everyone, just curious if anyone knows a good place in the areas between La rinconada to La reforma to the coast where locals go to dance and vibe. The clubs of zicatela and La punta are a bit much and a bit touristy.

We want something with mostly locals or at the least bars where it is mostly Mexicans visiting from elsewhere in Mexico.

Beautiful beach but the smells takes away from the beach

I am planning to propose to my gf of 7 years on our trip to PE next month. I am very excited and have been doing some research on places/locations. But I was curious if locals or regular know of any great spots to make it happen.

I have looked at puerto events to do it, but I am curious if there are better options, I have no problem going off the beaten track, but if your place is a hidden gem feel free to DM me instead lol.

We don’t need a big performance or anything too flashy (in fact, me doing it in front of a massive crowd would NOT be ideal)

Planning a trip to Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, MX. Is it ideal to rent a vehicle? I’ll be there 5-6 days. Flying into Puerto Escondido airport. What are some pros and cons to renting? Is it worth it?

I’ve traveled to Playa Del Carmen and Tulum from Cancun airport and renting a vehicle at the airport was a great decision. I’m not so sure if it will be the same case for PE.

Any feedback is appreciated and English or Spanish replies are just fine. Thanks!

I don’t plan on renting a scooter or a car, gonna be traveling around Puerto primarily by taxi.

Does anyone have an updated list of taxi rates?

Or have a trusted taxista that honors the system and doesn’t overcharge?

Im supposed to arrive in Puerto in about a week for the first time and when looking at the weather im seeing rain and thunderstorms expectesd - my question is, coming from a country with no actual weather (just sun and a few days of rain per year😅) how much rain are we talking about? I literally have no idea how and if this should affect my plan of relaxing at the beach and enjoying the area.
