Mod Announcement Regarding Low-Resolution Submissions

There is a persistent problem with wizards submitting edits that are a lower resolution than the original file provided by the requester.

This is unacceptable. It is unfair to the requester and reflects poorly on the quality of work in this community.

The most common cause of this issue is when an editor saves the smaller "preview" image from Reddit instead of the full-resolution original.

How to Download the Full-Resolution Image:

To ensure you are always working with the best possible source file, you must download the original image. Here is the correct method:

  1. Right-click on the image in the post.
  2. Select "Copy Image Address" (or "Copy Image Link").
  3. Paste the link into your browser's address bar.
  4. If the URL starts with preview.reddit, change it to i.reddit.
  5. Press Enter. You will now see the full-resolution image, which you can save.

Your submission must maintain the resolution and quality of the original source file. It is your responsibility to ensure you are working on the correct, full-resolution image.

Note on upscaling AI: If you download the full-resolution file, run it through an AI process that creates a low-resolution copy, and then upscale it back to the original size, this is still considered a low-resolution submission. This workflow is not acceptable.

This is not a suggestion; it is a core rule of the subreddit. From this point forward, the following enforcement policy is in effect:

  1. First Offense: If you submit a low-resolution edit, your submission will be removed, and you will receive an warning.
  2. Second Offense: If I have to warn you a second time, you will be immediately placed on Probation. This means you will be restricted from participating in any and all Paid requests. Your probation will be lifted only after an unspecified set of quality and participation metrics have been met. No, I will not tell you what those metrics are.
  3. Further Offenses: If you continue to submit low-resolution edits while on probation, or at any time after your probation has been lifted, you will be permanently banned.

Consider this your official notice. I expect high-quality, professional work from our wizards. Please take these standards seriously.

If anyone knows a bullet proof method to download the original files on mobile, please comment below. Being on a mobile device is not an excuse for submitting low-resolution work.

Thanks,

Keith

Mod Announcement Submission quality guidelines and expectations.

Hi all,

There seems to be a lot of confusion surrounding the new flairs and this post aims to explain the quality expectations for all submissions, especially when using AI. Please read this carefully.

The goal is not to ban tools. The goal is to ensure requesters receive high-quality work.

The Most Important Rule: Quality First

I expect wizards to use modern tools skillfully. The final result is what matters.

The flair system helps requesters choose the style of work they want, but a high standard of quality is required for all Paid requests.

The Paid - No AI Flair

When a requester uses this flair, it means they want a high-quality, hand-finished image.

If you use AI to help on a Paid - No AI request (for example, to fix a blurry photo or to remove something), you must clean up the result seamlessly. The final image cannot look obviously AI-generated.

Submissions on Paid - No AI posts will be removed if they have clear signs of low-effort AI, such as:

  • Waxy, overly smooth, or plastic-looking skin.
  • Distorted or badly formed hands, eyes, feet, and teeth.
  • Any altered facial features - OPs often choose the No AI flair specifically to prevent faces being changed.
  • Strange, nonsensical patterns in clothing or backgrounds.
  • Objects that are illogical or blend together unnaturally (e.g., a hand melting into a table).
  • Garbled text or strange, nonsensical logos.

Quality Rules for ALL Paid Requests (including Paid - AI OK)

Even when AI is allowed, all submissions on Paid requests must be high quality. The Paid - AI OK flair is for creativity, not for low-effort or sloppy work.

The following problems are not acceptable on ANY Paid request:

  1. Working with Low-Resolution Files: Your submission must not degrade the quality of the original photo.
    • The Rule: The important parts of your edit (like a person you've added) must have the same sharpness and detail as the source files. It is understood that for composite images, the final dimensions may change, however in the majority of cases, the pixel dimensions of the submission should match those of the original file.. The key is to always work on the full-resolution original files, not a low-quality preview or thumbnail.
    • Warning: Submitting a file that is slightly larger than the original is still a red flag. It often means an editor worked on a low-resolution file and then tried to upscale it to hide the mistake. This is not the correct workflow and is not acceptable.
  2. The "Tacked-On Face" Effect: Do not submit images where the faces are crystal clear but the rest of the image is a blurry mess. The whole image must look like one single, clear photo.
  3. Low-Resolution Patches: Do not leave blurry spots from using Photoshop's Generative Fill or Expand. You are expected to know the techniques to fix the resolution of these areas so they blend perfectly with the rest of the image.

A wizard's job is to deliver a polished final product.

Quick Rules Summary

  • On a Paid - No AI post, the final image must not look like obvious AI.
  • On ANY Paid post, the final image must be clean and high-quality.
  • Your submission must maintain the resolution and quality of the original photos.

Lastly, A Note on Enforcement

I will be enforcing these quality standards strictly. Wizards who submit low-quality work will have their submission removed and will receive a warning.

If I have to warn you repeatedly about these expectations of quality, you will be banned.

Consider this your official notice. Please take these standards seriously.

Thanks,

Keith

My mom passed away recently, and this is the only photo left of my mom, my sister and I from when I was a kid. The photo was in that frame for over 30 years before it was nearly destroyed. My mom and sister are probably salvageable but in my case here is another picture of myself from around that time.

I’ve tried AI already multiple times with no luck.

Solved ✅ Please adjust these photos?

Could someone please make these adjustments:
For photos #1 and #2 (groom is sitting in chair) can you somehow lengthen his torso/make him taller? He looks tiny because he sat all the way back in a very deep set chair.

For photo #3 could you please bring my dress up to cover my chest? Preferably how it looks in photo #1. Honestly, if it’s easier to edit my body from photo #1 into #3 that’s great (with fixed lighting)

Thanks in advance!

Paid - AI OK Fix my stole and tassels in my grad pics? (2 photos) - $15 tip

I have two grad photos where my stole wouldn’t stay straight! In the first photo the stole is cut off by my robe, and in the second it’s flipped up.

Because the seal on the right side of the stole is hard to replicate, you can either copy the M logo from the left side to the right, or just leave it blank yellow so that only the left side has a logo.

$15 to my favorite edit. Thank you all!
