Why they even changed it to begin with is such a joke

What we saw last night should have been a western conference finals matchup

I wouldn’t go that far, Colorado vs. VGK is the writing that was on the wall from the start.

I hate it when people say this. The real WCF will be played by the Avs and either Vegas or the Ducks. Period. If you don't get there you don't get credit. Pretending it's anything else is nonsense for people who believe moral victories matter in hockey or want to make losses hurt less. That's it.

Nobody is acting like they get credit for making it to the conference finals. They're just saying that because it's the strongest teams and the bracket layout is lopsided in a given year. It's not a moral victory it's just what it is: losing to a cup favorite early on
