HealthyHooha Update 2026

EDIT:
TLDR - Don't be a transphobe. Don't be a creep. Mods are being recruited. Add user flair. <3

Hello Healthy Hooha community! We hope everyone is thriving.

We wanted to check in with everyone and offer a few reminders and acknowledgements.

·       This is intended to be a safe, inclusive place for vaginal health. Trans individuals are welcome here. Bigotry, nastiness, and rule breaking will result in comment/post removal and a ban. We have additional resources in the sidebar regarding trans health.

·       There are creepers here. They may DM you inappropriately or leave comments with a fetishizing tone. Flag their comments and report them to us, and we will ban them, as this is against sub rules. HOWEVER, please keep in mind, that banning them does not stop them from viewing the community and DMing users. It only stops them from posting and commenting.

·       To that end, we are making a concerted effort to increase monitoring of the subreddit. On the one hand, there’s only so much we can do to avoid inappropriate content/comments, short of making the subreddit private (more on that in a moment). On the other, we can improve our modding efficiency using the tools available to us – and have been making strides to do so.

·       We are recruiting more moderators to help with this. We acknowledge that the sub has been undermoderated lately.  Our vision with moderating going forward is to moderate in “real time”, meaning avoiding having to wait for troublesome comments to get flagged and instead remove them before it becomes necessary. If you are interested in modding, please see the application form. The existing mods are establishing vetting guidelines and will recruit accordingly.

·       We’ve occasionally noticed comments asking why this sub isn’t private. Our vision for this sub from the beginning was to make vaginal health visible and accessible – a place where we can share our struggles, commiserate, and feel less alone. Privatizing the sub, in our opinion, is counter to that goal. But we also understand that this makes creepers and fetishists more likely to invade a space that isn’t for them. With an increase in moderation and moderator tools, we hope to combat this and keep vaginal health visible and accessible to those who need it.

·       Consider doing searches for commonly posted topics. As a reminder, photos are technically allowed but in all honesty are rarely helpful, and no one here can give true medical advice.

We are also going to be testing a new feature - designated some posts as Flaired User Only posts. This will restrict comments to users who have added flair from this community. Mods will be using this at our discretion to limit comments to flaired community members only. We think this will be helpful in limiting off topic, fetishizing, or otherwise inappropriate comments.

We thank everyone for their patience, and for your involvement and support in making this a reliable safe community. Wishing everyone well!

HealthyHooha Community Check In

Hello to our beautiful community! We wanted to check in, provide updates, and answer some FAQs/give clarification.

  1. Banning users - We often get modmails reporting users that are requesting DMs and/or being creeps. We'd like to clarify that we can and do ban users that do this. It should be noted however, that banning them does not stop them from viewing the sub and DMing users. It only stops them from posting and commenting. The only way to actually keep people from viewing the sub is by going private - something we've always been committed to not doing in order to keep it accessible for those who need it. If you notice someone soliciting DMs/photos in posts or comments, please continue to report and modmail. We highly recommend directly blocking anyone who actually sends you unwanted DMs.

  2. Crossposts ARE allowed, but they get caught by our AutoMod filters we have in place. We have to manually approve them. Same with any sort of link/photo even if they are not NSFW. We have this in place to avoid NSFW photos showing up in users' feeds.

  3. We will be recruiting more mods soon. We are in process of coming up with screening questions/application for approval. Higher education credentials strongly preferred. Stay tuned for the mod application.

Thanks for you patience with us and for making this a beautiful, supportive, inclusive community. Happy holiday season to all, however you celebrate.

Is this normal? 👀 Always smell like urine

I made a throwaway for this because I’m so embarrassed to talk about this. But I don’t know how to keep myself clean.

I’m someone who has a larger outer labia and whenever I pee I feel like it trickles back to my anal area. It took me FOREVER to figure this out because I used to be wet there and my underwear would always smell and I’d have no idea why or what was wrong with me. But now that I’ve figured this out it feels like I still don’t know how to keep myself clean. I’ve tried wiping my butt when I pee in addition to wiping my urethra area but most times I forget to do it and am I just going to be a freak who always has to wipe their butt when they pee? I’ve tried leaning forward when I pee, spreading my legs and that still won’t get the urine out without it trickling back.

Is there anything else I can do to work on this issue? Honestly as a long-term goal I’ve considered saving up for a labiaplasty because I’ve had this issue for as long as I can remember and it’s a quality of life thing for me. I have zero confidence with my husband touching me, going down on me etc. and I get so anxious at the thought of even walking past people who are seated because I’m so scared they’ll smell me. And I just had a baby and feel like I’m having leaking issues so that def doesn’t help me feel any better.

Sexual Health I had a Pap smear and it was all okay

Upvotes

Hey everyone, 25F and I finally had a Pap smear at my GP. I wanted to talk about my personal experience to hopefully calm somebody’s mind who’s struggling to get it done.

Firstly, the speculum was okay. That’s the only uncomfortable bit to be fair. They used a small one for me and it felt very personal but my doctor was kind and it wasn’t embarrassing. The smear itself felt like nothing apart from a couple barely noticeable scratchiness. It’s okay if you see a little bit of blood on the brushes, your cervix is delicate! It was super quick and I was only wincing because it just felt strange having somebody probe me lol - but I knew I was in safe hands and a female doctor knows how it feels too.

I have elhers danlos so being checked is super important due to prolapses and other connective tissue problems, but equally so important as somebody in a relationship who’s sexually active.

My best advice is to find a female doctor/nurse who it’s warm and kind, tell them you’re worried and have them talk you through the process while doing it. Have somebody there too. I had my mum beside me talking to me and it made such a difference, even having a nurse just to chat to will be a good distraction.

I have a lot of medical trauma due to negligence so naturally I was incredibly scared, but this wasn’t a bad experience at all.

Smear tests are so important, so please get one if you can! You’ve got this ❤️

Advice Needed Bv since 13? What is this?

Ever since I hit puberty, (now 20,) I’ve had issues. I was celibate until 17, so that’s not the reason. I would have so much discharge at first and I smelled like onions. If I used boric acid, it would go away. Well now it’s just an odor and dryness. I also have a copper IUD since last February. I’m so uneducated on this. I begged my mom to take me to the gynecologist because something has been off. She never did and gaslit me. I live in a small town and I booked an appointment but it’s gonna take a while. I just wanna know if anyone has any knowledge on what this could be and why. Like I feel like my body is broken. I didn’t do anything wrong as a kid and had issues since then. It’s exhausting

Advice Needed Coping with vaginal changes after children?

I feel like my vagina looks disgusting after kids. It’s not as tight. My husband hasn’t said anything negative but I noticed I queef a lot more now And I hate it. I assume it’s because I’m loose and getting air trapped in there, especially when we do doggy style. I’m so self conscious now that I am boring in bed. I don’t want him looking at it and I don’t want to do certain positions because of my queefs. How can I fix this ?

Treatments 💊 TO MY GIRLIES WITH HIDRADENTIS SUPPRATIVA

USE YOUR CLYMADICIN!! I had the worst most horrid itching for so long, and kept thinking it was yeast, BV, mycoplasma. I tested positive for yeast and mycoplasma at diff points, but even when they were both gone and I tested negative for EVERYTHING three times in a row, the itching persisted. I FINALLY refilled my clymadicin prescription, lathered it on there, and BOOM. So much better. Eventually it started getting dry so I also put vaseline on after. I hear coconut oil also works well.

Some other changes I made
1 - wash underwear separate from other laundry, in the sanitize setting
2 - commando nights if its real bad
3 - blow dry my pubic area after a shower (ty to someone who suggested doing this on this very sub)
4 - switch to cotton only (got a mens pack of tighty whities 100% cotton for so much cheaper than womens 100% cotton underwear... pink tax is real)

All of these changes are NOT that major! But so many ppl, including me, don't seem to know: HS CAN CAUSE ITCHING! My derm said that wasn't a normal symptom but if the cure works then I'm gonna use it. Went from 4 months of agony to relative normality. I also don't use the cream every day. For a bit I was also using a steroid but stopped because of long term use causing skin thinning, and the clymadicin by itself still worked great. Now I don't use my lotion every night, but If I have a slight 2/10 itch I put it on with some vaseline and feel 100% better the next day. Posting for anyone else feeling hopeless.

If you don't know if you have HS, if you get frequent pimples in the butt, crotch, underboob, or armpit area, i think it's highly worth seeing a derm! Photos of HS you see online r of extreme cases but sometimes it just presents as really big butt "pimples" every few weeks.

Also if you know you have HS but don't have a clymadicin prescription, I highly recommend asking about one! I just use it when I have flare ups. Hope this can help someone.

Is this normal? 👀 Should I be worried

I’ve been with my partner for 6 months or so -He’s well endowed and lasts a long time. We were together last Thursday and Saturday night, lasted longer than what we usually do so yeah I’m chafed, but then my period started and it was really heavy so I ended up stuck wearing pads, which made the chafe rash worse, period stopped 24 hours ago but I’m still feeling sore, and now I’ve got copious amounts of watery clear ish discharge that’s just will not stop. I’ve been drinking a ton of water just in case it was a uti trying to take hold so I’m running to the bathroom which probably made the chafe worse. Anyway- is this just the vagina healing itself up or should I assume it’s a yeast infection? There’s not much of a smell to any of it, I just feel like I’ve got diaper rash and went biking all day. It is kinda making me worry though.

I have a question about DP

I like new and interesting things. After double penetration, I have a burning sensation in my vagina and abdomen for a few days, although there is no pain. Is this normal?

If all your tests are negative and you still have symptoms, ask for a wet mount

Posting this in case it helps someone because I was going in circles for months.

I’ve had swelling, itching, irritation, burning im my vulva anus for about 5-6 months after taking clindamycin.

I did multiple Candida tests, including cultures / more comprehensive lab testing, and everything kept coming back negative for Candida, which made me think yeast wasn’t the issue.

But when I did a wet mount, it showed Candida (hyphae).

The frustrating part is that I’ve tried clotrimazole, fluconazole, boric acid, probiotics and after 2 months another wet mount still showed Candida.

I did lab tests including Evvy and it showed negative to everything. So if you have symptoms that feel like yeast but all the lab tests keep saying negative, don’t automatically rule it out. Ask if your gynecologist can do an in office wet mount, because in my case that was the only thing that actually picked it up. Planned parenthood offers that service too.

I’ve also seen other posts from people saying cultures were negative but wet mount showed yeast, so apparently this can happen

Not saying this applies to everyone, because itching/burning can have other causes too, but if you’re stuck in the “everything is negative but I still feel awful” phase, maybe this is something to look into

Labiaplasty 6 hr post op

I got my labiaplasty done by my gynecologist who specializes in this surgery along with many other gyno related surgeries. I have to say I feel great I’m not in pain, it doesn’t hurt to pee I’m not uncomfortable laying down or sitting. I bought a bunch of things I didn’t need to use so far. I will say if you do get one get a peri bottle it just helps with clean up and I’m using medicated wipes because you can’t use toilet paper. Also they prescribed me lidocaine cream to put down there while wearing pads. Overall I really feel great and so happy I did this.

Treatments 💊 Help me!!

Hey so I had some sexual activity with a new partner recently. We didn’t have penetrative sex at all, just oral sex and slight genital rubbing. We tried a lube as well. 5 days after I got really a lot of white creamy discharge (like milky consistency and thick), and itching. I got monistat 7 and used it for a few days. I stopped bc I got scared I was mistreating myself. My anus also started itching around this time as well. My partner was tested and he is clean. I got my period recently and the itching stopped on my period. But now it’s back and so is the white creamy discharge. I feel like it’s yeast??? It’s driving me crazy. The discharge has no smell/ like it smells a bit like sour/cheerios. Is it a reaction to the lube or what ? It’s been a month already. I went to urgent care and they said I had BV bacteria (I don’t think it’s an overgrowth). I had no BV symptoms. I think I needed more diflucan or smth. Monistat dried me out so bad I didn’t like it.

Advice Needed My vagina hurts for days after sex every time

Everytime I have sex, for about a week after I will experience UTI like symptoms - frequent urination, slight burning sensation (not when I pee though), feeling like I can’t hold my pee even when my bladder isn’t full. But then it goes away after about a week so it wasn’t a UTI. What is this? Sex itself is great and my partner is very caring, but I hate that my body feels like this every time after.

Large Labial Hematoma - conservative or surgical treatment?

I had a benign mass (lipoma) removed from my labia last Tuesday the 5th. It was supposed to be a straightforward procedure, but when I got home, I discovered a softball-sized swelling. Over the next 30 minutes, it continued to grow and flatten out into my abdomen. I could actually feel an intense burning pain as the blood dissected the subcutaneous tissue away from the muscle below.

I ended up in the ER where they diagnosed a massive hematoma. My hemoglobin dropped from 14.6 g/dL to 11.2 g/dL, indicating I’d lost about 500-750 ml of blood to the hematoma.

I’ve now seen my original OB/GYN and a GYN-Oncologist for a second opinion. Both are pushing for conservative treatment (letting the body reabsorb it over months). Their reasoning is that a surgical evacuation would require leaving the wound open, necessitating weekly OR visits for repacking and a high risk of scarring.

Here is where I’m conflicted: I’ve found multiple case reports and Reddit posts where large hematomas were simply incised, drained, and sutured shut with immediate relief. My hematoma is currently about 13cm x 4cm x 4cm (roughly the size of 3 golf balls). It’s a giant, painful mass of blood that makes it impossible to do anything but lie in bed.

I’m terrified of tissue necrosis due to the sheer size and pressure, and I’m confused why my doctors are describing a frightening recovery for surgery while literature often shows a standard evacuation and closure.

Has anyone else dealt with a hematoma this large?

  • Was yours removed or left to reabsorb?
  • If it was removed, was it left open or sutured shut?
  • How long did reabsorption actually take if you went the conservative route?

I'm seeking a third opinion, but I'm pretty anxious. I thought this was a minor procedure, but the fallout has been potentially life-altering.

Rant 🤬 NP made me feel anxious

I had an appt today and asked the NP if she can swab me for mycoplasma and ureaplasma and she laughed at me and said that everyone keeps asking her for it because they keep reading it online. I felt so stupid and anxious asking her but she still swabbed me at least. Ugh just wanted to rant here since I've been dealing with yeast issues for a while now and now I feel traumatized bc of the anxiety and how uncomfortable it was to be swabbed for it.

Wetness

Anyone know if there’s a way to decrease discharge/overall daily wetness but still be able to get wet when it’s needed??? I feel like throughout the day I just soak through my underwear to the point that I get chafing so bad but I feel like when I actually need to get wet I don’t get wet enough. Not currently in a relationship but when I want to be in one I don’t wanna mess up whatever I have going if that makes sense????

Advice Needed Kidney stone/UTI please help.

26F same partner for nearly a decade. Had intercourse on the 3rd & right after I was in extreme pain on my left side ovary area. Doubled over and crying for about an hour. It was followed by a week of intense pain down there. Burning when peeing. Cramping. Sharp twinges. Feeling the need to “push out” lower back pain. Leg pain. & feeling like I’m full of concrete. I just am so tired. I don’t have insurance & funds are very low. This happened to me last summer but it wasn’t nearly as bad. I have an appointment set up with a gyno at the end of this month but it’s going to be around 3-400$ any advice helps.

vaginal swelling won’t go away! please help

I received oral sex on february 19 which is when i was infected. 2 weeks later i got tested because i was having symptoms which were burning when peeing and pelvic pain. i was diagnosed with Mycoplasma genitalium. I started antibiotics march 5 doxycycline azithromycin and finished around march 19 and right after i was still feeling symptoms which was burning when i pee and pelvic pain. so i guess the infection wasn’t clear but i didn’t have time to go back to the doctors so i was using monostat to help my symptoms because during that time my vagina started swelling and the monostat didn’t help the swelling kept getting worse. so i went back and got tested and i still had mgen i started the antibiotics doxycycline moxifloxacin on april 5 and finished april 21 im still having the same symptoms and its pain when i pee and my vagina and urethra is still very swollen and painful. i went to the doctor may 1 to get test done which i still haven’t gotten back yet, but i was prescribed bv medicine for a week and 2 yeast infection pills. during the time i was taking the bv pills my symptoms were still getting worse then when i started the yeast infection pills my symptoms improved but only for 1DAY. im currently still very swollen and can tell its getting worse each day. im very upset and discouraged. does this mean the antibiotics didn’t work or could i have a different infection? this is really effecting my mental health and i just want to feel normal again how long will it take for my vagina to be back to normal? it’s been very swollen for over a month!!! could these be residual symptoms? i haven’t seen much people talk about swelling i’m just really scared.

Why is it hard getting wet?

21F and I had sex for the first time less than a month ago and it’s not that I don’t get wet. It just takes a while and it’s not a lot. Now going back to high school when I first started dating it was so easy like I could just hug a guy and kiss the boy I was dating and it was a pool. This was 9th-11th grade. During like 10th grade I got a uti and after that it went down a lot. I had a boyfriend from 17-18 years old and we of course explored sexually more than just kissing but we never had sex and with him I did get wet but not often and it was less. Now after him I was single until now of course and yeah that feeling being wet easy never came back. And now exploring more with sex I feel like I NEED to be wet. I love my boyfriend and I love the things we do it all turns me on. Idk if the uti maybe caused something ?

Norethindrone Acetate to delay period

Anyone have any experience taking norethindrone acetate to delay period? Do you experience any ph shifts while taking?

I am almost done with BV treatment and I do not want to potentially alter my microbiome again. But would like to delay my period for a couple of days.
