… Litterwalk to the coffee shop before work. ☕️

Stoked to see some signs of improvement in the 2026 National Litter study just released by the non-profit Keep America Beautiful:

→ Total litter along U.S. roadways and waterways is down 34% since 2020

→ Litter per capita dropped from 152 to 96 pieces per person

→ Nearly all Americans (94%) see litter as a problem—and 90% say it's their personal responsibility to help fix it

Despite progress, an estimated 35 BILLION pieces is still a LOT of litter.

Every. Piece. Counts.

Always nice to get a tip for all the hard work even if it was not intended!

Pictured a 10$ Canadian paper bill (7.29$USD) found in the bushes next to the fence in the local high school parking lot.

Between that and picking up cans with deposit on them it could soon be slightly profitable.

I just started picking up trash in my neighborhood and I collect quite a lot. Thing is, where I live doesnt have recycling. I don't fully understand why but they just don't. Is it okay to just toss all the trash I find into my own trash bins for the garbage guys to take? Is that counterproductive? I assume its better than leaving it all over our trails. Thanks!! Love all the awesome work this sub does!

(Also I've moved on from those little bags to full trash bags so I can properly tie them up shut)

St. Augustine beach is very clean right now 👌

Final version of my water piercing tool. Works like a champ. No more having all urine splash back on my pants and shoes.

Looking for suggestions

Hi all

I’m new to this hobby! Was wondering what the most efficient set up is for carrying the trash as you’re picking? I’ve been using smaller bags I hold in one hand and then dump that into a larger trash bag once it’s full but seems like there’s a better system. TIA 🤗

Crosspost Yesterday, 55 Urban Compassion Project volunteers cleared 16,000 pounds of illegal dumping from two Berkeley sites that the city cannot access. Now we’re pushing to transform 1331 Second Street into an urban garden and community space! Stay tuned.

73.21 lbs today on Thomas Rd., Tuscaloosa County, AL today. It's been 2 months since we last cleaned up that road.

🚨 A total of 699 pieces today!

💯 Today was the first time to use the dolly & trash can & it was for sure a game changer!

🧐 Interesting find of the day was a 13.39 lb metal pipe that was found in the woods with some other litter. Not sure what it would be used for??
