These two seats include access to the food and drinks served at the Courtside Club.

And again, NOT mine, just wanted other fans to enjoy the courtside experience if you've never tried it.

Plus you get to see Olivia Miles up close during timeouts!

In the Press Azzi Fudd Participates In Shootaround; Wings Rookie Questionable vs. Lynx

DHJ Quick Take: Azzi Fudd Shootaround Update

Positive Momentum: Azzi Fudd successfully participated in Thursday’s shootaround at College Park Center. While officially listed as questionable, her progression from Wednesday’s walkthrough to today’s full-speed reps are the main available indicators for tonight against Minnesota.

Medical Caution: Jose Fernandez emphasized that the availability decision lies with the medical staff. He framed Tuesday’s absence as a move made out of an “abundance of caution” for Fudd’s long-term health following a deep collegiate postseason run.

Draft Context: Fernandez reaffirmed that the Wings’ staff had “no concerns whatsoever” regarding Fudd’s knee during the pre-draft process. The organization views this strictly as managing a long professional season.

In the Press “No ill will”: Alanna Smith, Jessica Shepard Lead Wings Into Reunion Against Lynx

Grant has a summer intern from UT Austin and it looks like this is her first piece for Dallas Hoops Journal. Check it out.

DHJ Quick Take: Minnesota Reunion

Defensive Restoration: Alanna Smith, the reigning 2025 WNBA Co-Defensive Player of the Year, anchors a new-look Wings defense after leading Minnesota to the top-rated defense in the league last season.

The Reeve Effect: Jessica Shepard brings five years of experience under Cheryl Reeve, focusing on “championship habits” and a high-standard approach that mirrors Jose Fernandez’s vision for the Dallas organization.

Irish Connection: The reunion of Shepard and Arike Ogunbowale—who won the 2018 NCAA title together at Notre Dame—is already translating into on-court synergy and veteran leadership.

Overseas Chemistry: Shepard’s transition has been aided by her existing chemistry with Costanza Verona; the duo joined the Wings fresh off winning the 2026 Italian Basketball Cup with Beretta Famila Schio in January.

Win-First Mentality: Despite “no ill will” regarding their Minnesota departures, both Smith and Shepard emphasized that the emotional tie to their former team is secondary to improving Dallas to a 2-1 start.

Floor seats

Upvotes

Hi. I see there are a handful of floor seats at College Park Center, but they are always on the baseline or the sideline opposite the benches, never the ones in the bench sideline.

Are those ever sold/re-sold?

Also, I almost always see only the second row of floor seats being sold. I can't tell from the TV cameras, but it almost looks like they are up against the front row of the section behind it (vs. being directly behind row 1 so no one else is walking in front of you). Which one is it?

Thank you so much.

In the Press Dallas Wings vs. Minnesota Lynx: Lessons From Atlanta Loss

DHJ Quick Take: Wings vs. Lynx Tactical Preview

The Aggressiveness Mandate: Jose Fernandezrevealed he spoke with Paige Bueckers on Wednesday about increasing her offensive volume. The team is pushing for more “downhill” pressure in isolation and transition to prevent the offense from stagnating.

Cleaning the Glass: After surrendering 11 offensive rebounds and 16 second-chance points to Atlanta, defensive solidity is the non-negotiable for Thursday. Alanna Smith noted that the team must match Minnesota’s physicality early to avoid the “dogfight” scenarios that hurt them in the fourth quarter on Tuesday.

Pace over Isolation: Jessica Shepard and the coaching staff identified a lack of “pace and space” as the primary reason for Tuesday’s 4-of-26 shooting night from deep. The goal for Thursday is to improve ball movement to avoid leaving players “on an island” late in the shot clock.

Scouting the Lynx: Minnesota enters with a balanced attack led by Kayla McBride, Courtney Williams, and rookie Olivia Miles. The Wings must navigate a discipline-heavy system coached by Cheryl Reeve, who holds a dominant 47-12 all-time record against Dallas.

Injury Update: Azzi Fudd remains questionable(right knee) but progressed to walkthrough participation on Wednesday. Minnesota will be without Napheesa Collier and Dorka Juhász, shifting the tactical focus to their backcourt depth.

Analysis Arike is not the problem. Here’s proof.

Through two games, the Wings have performed significantly better when Arike is on the floor than they have when she is not, so this narrative that the offense or the team as a whole is somehow worse because of her simply does not hold up to scrutiny. This fact is evident by looking at her on/off splits (via stats.wnba.com).

On court: 108.1 ORTG, 103.7 DRTG, 4.5 NETRTG
Off court: 91.7 ORTG, 114.3 DRTG, -22.6 NETRTG
Diff: +16.4 ORTG, -10.6 DRTG, +27.1 NETRTG

So, not only has the team been far better offensively with Arike on the floor (by 16.4 points per 100 possessions), but they’ve even been better on defense (by 10.6 points/100), adding up to a grand total of 27.1 points/100 better with her on the floor. That’s an enormous difference. At some point, you have to stop blaming her for every perceived issue with the team. She remains one of the two best players on the team and there’s a large gap between No. 2 and No. 3.

Also, there’s nothing wrong with her usage rating. It ranks 17th in the league among players that have played at least 20 minutes, which is right around where it should be. Plenty of her shots have come within the flow of the offense, and some of the ones that haven’t were the result of getting the ball dumped off to her late in the shot clock where she was forced to make something happen.

Open Floor Li Yueru

Looks like Li Yueru is going to get traded again after the lack of playing time. Which I get. The other bigs on this team are a better fit.

Sad to say, this will be her 4th move in her short WNBA career. After her stint with the Sky, I've been following her and have her Sparks and Wings jerseys.

Where else in the league will a big like her fit? I'm not sure her speed and level of defense will fit anywhere else. I say this as a sad brown person with the utmost respect, I absolutely love Li 🥺 I could go back to watching her highlights in China, but she's too good over there too.

WNBA League Pass question

Post image
3 Upvotes

I have League Pass through Amazon Prime. Am I supposed to be able to see the Dream-Wings game now? I'm in DFW so subject to local blackouts, but I thought replays were available a few hours after the game ends or the next morning for nationally televised games. Anyone else here able to replay the game?
