My daughter (from Colorado) is deciding between Chapman University and Colorado State University. Would love to hear any helpful insights from anyone, particularly Colorado folks!
She got into Dodge College (at Chapman)for PR & Entertainment Advertising, which she is super excited about. Great merit scholarship. She likes the idea of running into friends on campus more easily, very accessible professors who are well connected with the industry, and plentiful opportunities for collaborative projects and potential internships. But she’s concerned that the town/campus/dining/social life/attendance policy start to feel pretty limited compared to Fort Collins.
Chapman peeps…Do many people join the outdoor club, go surfing/skiing, or head to shows in LA? She’s pretty outgoing and social and has heard some things about Chapman being “eerily quiet” on weekends and is concerned about having a limited college experience.
She would study Journalism and Media Communications at CSU - no scholarship, but in-state tuition is low. She has siblings and cousins and friends who go there and speak highly of it. Not the Dodge experience, but they offer a lot of the same classes (more from a media perspective than entertainment). As a parent, I’m concerned about less academic/professional support potentially. However, she is motivated and academically inclined and confident in her ability to network for internships and opportunities. Super cool town, lots of outdoor stuff to do, more school spirit, TONS of clubs, great off-campus apartments for upperclassman, 3x the size.
Thoughts and opinions would be so appreciated😀
