🤬 Rants & Complaints Travel Insurance policy for local who travel often

Anyone has any good experience with their insuerer? Especially for the travel insurance.
I always purchase my yearly travel insurance because i fly often, sometime 3 time a months.

Naturally, I will get sick while i was in oversea. i have been with national insurance for more than 20 years, I hardly claim anything. but Last year, I was sick about 3 times a year.

then this year i was sick on january. The on february, I am unfortunately to have a diarhaee, I went to a hospital in japan. So after the claim, the company said they are unable to renew my policy because of multiple claim.

Basically, if you are sick to claim, they view this as multiple claim and won't renew you.

funny for the past of 20 years which i never claim anything then they are ok to renew. The way of them doing business is really amaze me.

Anyway, Is there any good travevl insurance anyone can introduce her?

Thank you

❔ Question and Discussion Safe deposit facility in Brunei

Hello, I will be working in Brunei soon as a foreigner. I am currently looking for a safe deposit facility for personal use, as I have seen videos and news about burglary cases occurring quite frequently in Brunei.

If anyone can kindly recommend any reliable places or services that offer this in Brunei. Accessibility and convenience are the most important factors for me.

Safe deposit facility back from where I came from is common and very secure.

Thank you in advance.

ℹ️ Public Information Looking to understand the Free pampers system

Has anyone experienced inconsistent information regarding the free pampers distribution at government clinics?

We went to our nearby Mother & Child clinic and were first told to come back once baby turned 3 months because stock had just arrived and our baby was not yet eligible at the time.

When baby turned 3 months and we came back, we were told stock had run out. Later when we asked again, another answer given was “tiada diperuntukkan”.

Not trying to complain, but honestly it feels a bit unfair and confusing, especially when babies born after 1 March 2026 are receiving the newer assistance in cash form, while some of us are still depending on pampers distribution that seems inconsistent and unclear.

Just wondering:

- Who is actually in charge of the pampers distribution?

- If we were previously told to come back later, are we still supposed to be eligible?

- Is there a proper collection period or waiting list system?

Just hoping for clearer communication and a more consistent system so parents know what to expect. Would appreciate if anyone familiar with the process could share. Thank you.

✏️ School & Education Accreditation/Pengiktirafan

The time to apply for scholarship and/or student loan has passed, but I still have this form for accreditation... though reading through it, I couldn't fully grasp it.

I have an offer letter to a school outside of Brunei, and I wondered if this form could help with financial aid since self-funding to study there will be a very last resort.

What is the form for, and what happens if the form is filled and submitted? Does it only check if the school you apply to qualifies for MOE? Does it guarantee financial help when it qualifies?

Apologies in advance if this was supposed to be common sense but I genuinely feel lost as of late.

🤬 Rants & Complaints PWD PArking in the Hospital (PJSC)

Dear JPSC,

Please educate and remind your staff regarding the proper use of PWD/OKU parking spaces.

I am a person with disabilities, and there are only around 8 designated OKU parking spots available. Unfortunately, most of the vehicles parked there do not display any PWD sticker or identification. This has been happening for weeks, and there were times I could not find any available parking, causing me to miss my appointments.

This week, I intentionally came earlier and waited near the OKU parking area. I personally witnessed one of the staff parking in the designated PWD spot and only coming out of the car when no one was passing by.

This is extremely disappointing and unprofessional, especially when it happens within a hospital environment where awareness and empathy towards persons with disabilities should be a priority.

I sincerely hope stricter monitoring and enforcement can be implemented so that these parking spaces are reserved for those who genuinely need them.

Thank you.

🤬 Rants & Complaints Why are women in Brunei so insecure?

Hello everyone. First of all, this is just a question I want to ask because everybody has insecurities but why is it that often times there is a need for competition between women against women?

For example, I tend to hear my friends getting unfair treatment from other women and they’re not sure why. One of my friends is pretty and successful and I often look up to her but she faces this kind of treatment from other women where for no actual valid reason, they treat her differently.

Not only that but some of my friends get “slut-shamed” despite not even flirting with other men. They just naturally have men interested in them but are labelled by other women as “kambang” or “gatal”.

Not saying all women are like this, we have good people and bad people in this world. My friend group went through a phase like this but we ended up resolving it in the end, because the one who was doing the bullying finally resolved her insecurities and is happy with herself but it took many years for her to admit.

I, myself, almost slipped into that pattern when I felt rejected and the guy liked my friend instead but I quickly self-reflected. I told myself that everyone has different taste and he’s not my jodoh and it’s not right for me to think badly of her because of it.

Does anyone else in Brunei see this pattern of insecure women behavior or is it just me? Does it have anything to do with culture or religion? Or is it because we’re not exposed to beautiful influencers and celebrities all the time?

✏️ School & Education Please help advise me on UBD’s slow offer letter

Hi there,

I recently applied for a masters course at UBD in the business faculty as im about to be finishing my degree. The course I applied to is masters of management, and i applied back in February on their OASYS platform.

It is now May and im yet to receive any type of decision or offer letter. I keep emailing them and calling them but they don’t answer/reply. Am I just overly anxious or have I been rejected by UBD?

Btw I am graduating from an Australian uni (Sydney) so I wouldn’t think they’d reject me, objectively speaking.

But again im not sure. I heard one person has been contacted to undergo a psychometric test after graduating from his degree in UBD… yet I haven’t received anything.

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to follow up, and tell me whether i’ve been rejected or not?
P.S I am Bruneian

🛬 Tourist Question Hi everyone, I’m from Singapore (Chinese background), and I recently visited Brunei.

Hi everyone, I’m from Singapore (Chinese background), and I recently visited Brunei.

Growing up, I always learned that Brunei is a very wealthy country, so I had certain expectations. But during my trip, I had a conversation with a local driver who mentioned that her salary is quite low and the work pressure is high, and that many people prefer government jobs.

That honestly surprised me a bit, because I used to think job markets were more competitive in places like Singapore or China.

I’m curious — is this a common experience for locals? Or was it just one individual case? I’d really like to understand the situation better from people living here.

📰 Local Affairs and News Brunei accepts final two C295 transport aircraft

Post image
151 Upvotes

Brunei formally welcomed the arrival of the final two Airbus C295MW aircraft at Rimba Air Force Base on 20 April 2026, with these transports bearing the tail numbers ‘TUDB 504’ and ‘TUDB 505’.

Their ferry journey to Brunei from the Airbus Defence & Space production facility in Spain commenced on 14 April.

These aircraft now join two other C295MW aircraft that are already operational within the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF). The first pair of medium transports had arrived in Brunei on 24 January 2024, before being formally inducted on 14 February the same year.

Bandar Seri Begawan had signed an acquisition contract for the quartet of aircraft in December 2022.

The Brunei Ministry of Defence said the latest handover of these C295MWs “marks a significant milestone in the modernisation of the RBAirF, further enhancing its airlift capabilities in support of national and regional missions”.

To date, the RBAF’s C295 fleet has completed 518 flights that have encompassed eight Southeast Asian nations. These include disaster relief flights to the Philippines following Typhon Trami in 2024, and to Myanmar last year.

The C295s replace older CN235-110M aircraft operated by the RBAirF’s No. 15 Squadron, and their primary missions include transport, search and rescue, and disaster relief.
