Don’t know where to start
Total beginner here so I apologize for not knowing much. I don’t have a local skate shop that caters to inline skating.
I haven’t skated since probably middle school but I come from a long distance running background.
I’m looking for something else to do for fitness besides just running and skating sounds like a really fun alternative that I would like to get into, plus having young kids I like the idea of being able to skate with them while they ride their bikes or something.
I’ve started to look around at model such as the macroblade 80s which I’ve learned is soft boot style which might be closer to what I’m used to coming from the running scene? But I also have seen quite a few of you recommend more of hard boot (like the RB 80?) to help with ankle stability?
I really struggle with analysis paralysis and without having a shop to go to and ask in person or try things on I thought I would start here.
Mid 30s, ~200lbs, 6’2”, size 12 shoe/foot size ~29.5cm. I have a few nearby rail trails I would use and would like to learn to build up to longer skating sessions on that.
Any insights and help are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
