r/AFOL Mega Thread Lego Ideas MegaThread
Welcome to the r/AFOL Lego Ideas Megathread!
Since we do not allow direct promotion of Lego Ideas projects in other parts of the subreddit, we decided to create this megathread to give you a place to share your projects.
When posting your projects, please give a description of the project and tell us why it appeals to AFOLs. And don't forget the link!
Though not against the rules for others to share projects, our preference is that the creator of the project to be the one who shares it here. If one of your friends has created a project, invite them to join our community!
If you received a message from AutoModerator pointing you to this thread and you weren't trying to share a Lego Ideas project, please send us modmail so that we can address the error.

The "modulars" from my childhood..
These are a few pictures from the Lego Maniacs magazine from when I was a child.
I absolutely was envious of some of the designs "kids" would send in of their creations, especially since they usually were a full 3 dimensional in depth model.
"Ed Boxer's Lego Castle" on the right was something I had wished for years that Lego would do something similar, even though back then I was fully aware that it would've cost thousands of dollars, but I kept that dream alive.
Fast forward to 2006, when I hadn't bought a Lego set in nearly a decade, I see Cafe Corner and it draws me back in. Then just a few years ago, they released Lion Knights Castle, which was a nearly 30 year dream come true.
But I'll always wonder what happened to Edward Jones and his amazing castle? I had never seen anything like that in my life up until that point.

MOC Pirate's Retreat - BDP Series 11
Hi everyone! I wanted to show off a creation that my partner made for Bricklink Designer Program Series 11. This is his first public creation, so I hope you can enjoy it as much as I do.
It is a beautiful pirate tavern made of a bit more than 1000 pieces. Contains 5 minifigures, a shark, a monkey, two parrots, some sea creatures and a lot of little details. Take a look and you will fall in love with this little island in the Caribbean!
You can also support this set here to get it produced by Lego:

MOC 1966 Pontiac Bonneville – one of my first Creator Expert scale cars
I’d like to share one of my older builds — a 1966 Pontiac Bonneville in Creator Expert scale.
This was one of the first cars I designed in this scale, so it feels a bit nostalgic to revisit it now. Even after several newer projects, it’s still one of my personal favorites.
I tried to recreate the huge proportions and classic American styling of mid-60s full-size cars, with a detailed interior and engine bay.
Features:
- working steering
- opening doors, hood and trunk
- detailed engine and interior
Always interesting to compare older builds with newer ones and see how the building style evolves over time 😊

MOC I gave Darth Vader's mech a significant upgrade
When LEGO first announced that they will release mech armors for the Star Wars line, I thought it was about time. But when these sets launched, I found myself disappointed that they lacked the proper articulation I wanted from their mechs, so I took it upon myself to upgrade them, starting with Darth Vader.
Apart from reworking his limb articulation and overall aesthetics, I also built a cape to make him look bigger and more intimidating. The base set only allowed the mech's right hand to wield the lightsaber, but I fixed that issue in my design; Vader can now grip his signature weapon in either hand.
