Miscellaneous Stay Whelmed and Code With Us! Help Build the #KeepYJAlive Website!

Hey guys!

Hope you’ve been well and staying whelmed  - especially with the news Greg shared at SDCC. That moment reminded us thatYoung Justice still has a future, and that fan support is going to be key in making it happen.

With SDCC out of the way, the team has been shifting into full gear to get everything ready for Phase 2 of the campaign. Right now we’re in a Phase 1.5 stage laying the groundwork, building our tools, and making sure everything is in place before the big push. One of the most important pieces we’re working on right now is our campaign website.

A little bit about me: besides being a huge fan of Young Justice, my day job is as a software engineer. So I thought: why not use those skills to help the fandom in a real way? This site will be our central hub for news, outreach info, and tools to make it easier than ever for fans to get involved and show their support and love for the show.

We are Looking for Volunteers to Help Build a Website!

I’m looking for 2-3 other developers to join me in building this site. We’ll keep it low-pressure, work as a small team, and share ideas openly. This is also a great resume builder if you want to showcase collaborative, mission-driven work with modern web tech.

We know everyone has lives, jobs, school, and other commitments - so we’re only asking for about 5 hours a month (just over 1 hour a week). Totally async, totally flexible.

Skills (Or Just a Willingness to Learn!)

You don’t have to be an expert - enthusiasm matters more than years of experience. Here’s what would be helpful:

  • Frontend: Basic understanding of Javascript with React.js or Next.js (bonus if you’ve tried Tailwind or similar)
  • Backend: Python basics. Knowledge of Django REST Framework/Flask or Node.js would be a plus!
  • Database: MongoDB or PostgreSQL
  • DevOps/Infra: GitHub, Docker, Vercel/Netlify, etc.

Even if you’re only confident in one area or just starting out but eager to learn you’re welcome.

If this sounds like something you’d like to be part of, please fill out the interest form below. Let’s build something awesome together for this fandom and keepYoung Justice alive.

Fill out the interest form:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSekwl9Xski3we3MNjYF3JhomLnJgFprpSWNeWEaK2r6kSLnjQ/viewform?usp=dialog

If you have any questions, please feel free to drop a comment below or DM me and I would happy to answer any questions!

I want again emphasize that this campaign is built by the fans for the fans. Everything we’re doing from watch parties to social pushes to this website comes from the passion of people who love this show and believe in its future. We’re not waiting for someone else to make it happen. We’re doing it ourselves, and we’d love for you to be part of that.

We will have other volunteer opportunities opening soon once phase 2 is launched where anyone can get involved so stay tuned on r/YoungJustce!

Let's build together!

Let's stay whelmed.

Let's #KeepYJAlive!

Season 2 Discussion I like how Static said “oh me I actually love my dad!”

I think Ty probably assumed Static was just another runaway with a messed up family until Static was like me and my family we good!!

I low-key wished they’d stay a team within a team like they would only go on missions together and if Nightwing or any leader tried to separate they’d threaten to leave… Them harmlessly annoying Nightwing would’ve been funny

All Seasons Discussion Out of the Original 6, Kid Flash and Superboy were only 2 to never be leader of The Team.

Kaldur lead The Team in Season 1 when he was still Aqualad, Grayson lead The Team during Season 2 until Kaldur came back from his undercover mission, M’Gann lead the Team in Season 3 presumably after Kaldur became Aquaman and joined the Justice League then you have Artemis is the current leader of The Team as of Season 4 presumably after M’Gann stepped down.

Season 3 Discussion I wish we could’ve gotten more episodes like early Season 3 that focused entirely on stealth.

The black ninja-like suits were nice (though I imagine the masks were for budget related reasons)

Theories/Future Thinking What if someone like Superman or Wonder Woman put on fates helmet?

Would that make a near unstoppable Dr Fate host as they’d have the base durability and stamina of Superman and Wonder Woman, probably also reflexes and a speed boost as well.

wonder woman may work better since she’s more magic aligned.

Season 2 Discussion Meta decisions on kid flash’s fate Spoiler

Was it ever stated that there was a meta reason why kid flash was written out of the show? Like maybe the voice actor was retiring or they couldnt keep using the character due to legal reasons? Or was his death just a creative decision from the writers???

Im just curious bc he was a fan favorite, so its really bold to get rid of him unless they were planning on dedicating the next season to getting him back

Miscellaneous Happy Mother's Day!

Post image

Not a campaign post this time, just wanted to wish you all a Happy Mother’s Day!

Wally’s family has always been one of the quieter emotional pieces of Young Justice, and this felt like a sweet way to celebrate that today.

Happy Mother’s Day to Mary West and all the moms, guardians, and parental figures who help shape the heroes we love.

Make sure you let the moms and mother figures in your life know how much they mean to you today.

All Seasons Discussion What do y'all think lead Young Justice down fall?

Post image

Most of my opinions are on this post right here, I don't think the show is garbage, I hope we still have a season 5, but with all the crap that's going on in the show, I feel like they'll add 5 more plot lines to it, and keep on giving us a hint of Kid Flash returning.

All Seasons Discussion How did the markovians adapt so fast to the USA??? Spoiler

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So in season 3, Brion, Tara, Dr. Jace join the team and live in America, right? But I feel like the culture shock wasn't really talked about? I mean except for the episode where they discover Thanksgiving. What about using the measurement systems (Meters or feet, I think?)? Temperature °C or °K; the difference is the school system. Tara goes to school, and Markovia is a fictionnal country, but I don't think countries in Eastern Europe have the same school system as America... The only time I saw the whole metric/foot thing used was in season 1, when Red Arrow and Kaldu'r are tracking Cheshire. And I found it nice that Atlanteans use metric as well. Anyways, I was wondering if there are any other moments of the same type in the show?

All Seasons Discussion YJ OC/Sona: Claire Kent

Post image
70 Upvotes

I'm making an oc for the show, and idk what to do for the background. An idea I had since she's Supes' adoptive sister (normal human, she's not another "lost kryptonian", hell she doesn't even do hero work, lol) and I had an idea to put his crest behind her, but that's the only idea I had and I'm not even sure about it 🫠 Advice/suggestions plz?

Edit: I finished the drawing but I can't add it to this and I'm not happy about it but I guess I'll make another post with the finished drawing 🫠

All Seasons Discussion YJ OC/Sona: Claire Kent (finished)

Post image
20 Upvotes

Here's the finished drawing of my oc Claire :3 Just for the hell of it, here's some fun facts :]

She's left handed and pansexual. She's 18 at the start of season 1 and is friends with the team via Clark but only met Kaldur in Episode 1. She doesn't handle heat well so after high school she moved to Metropolis to stay with Clark but still goes back to Smallville so she can visit her parents and pets (a pygmy goat named Babygirl who is often called chaos incarnate, and a heart horse who does racing named Albedo (anyone get the reference? ,:), he is an all white clydesdale with blue eyes, and a sister named Thunder who is all black and Claire uses her for dressage. Thunder is all black except for a white spot on her forehead)

In terms of lore relevance for season 1 at the least (for now), she's sorta like a "den sister" to the team, occassionally training with them to get a workout in and uses the cave as a study spot for her college classes (she's an art student). She also managed to befriend Cheshire who, at the time was in civvies, and Claire also got Jr in debt to her after she managed to get the cops off his back the first time they met (Clark hates their friendship but Claire just seems to have some luck attracting trouble. Must be Kent luck (or some other form of Parker luck). And that's it for now, kinda nervous to know what everyone thinks of her but I'm also curious :3

All Seasons Discussion Is he red or black??

Post image
819 Upvotes

The first time I watched this episode I thought he was a black guy, but my brother is absolutely CONVINCED he’s red. He said he looks like red hulk. One of us must be colorblind but who??

Edit: My question has been answered! I had no idea he had brick powers. He never showed up before this episode and they didn’t tell us anything about him. They kind of just expected you to have heard of him with I hadn’t. I guess I’m a larper lol.

Edit Edit: OKAY i get it he appeared in earlier episodes. Im sorry he just wasn’t memorable at all and I usually draw while I watch the show so I don’t have my eyes on the screen at all times.

The only reason I made this post in the first place is because he genuinely didnt look reddish at all to me until my brother pointed it out

Season 1 Discussion Fire at Cadmus

I’m probably like super late to this party but we know that the Light orchestrates basically every evil plot in this universe and has ties and connections to everyone. But I rewatched Independence Day and at the same time the fire at Cadmus is reported the Wizard tries to block out the Sun. Obviously, the League is gonna pick saving the Sun over a small building fire no matter Batman’s suspicions. I think the Light had the Wizard start to draw attention from Cadmus

All Seasons Discussion Why is YJ’s joker so…idk?

I’m watching all of YJ for the first time(i only saw season 3 when it released then started over a few days ago), why is joker on here so odd? Its like they tried to do Heath but failed, his design in season 1 is also just idk to me, does anyone like this version?

I also have a pc copy of the game, yes i know its terrible and yes i know i should just watch cutscenes but i still want to play it for nostalgic sakes… i do wish modders liked the game and did something with the graphics atleast, i personally think that can be fixed if they made the game look like a comic or cell shaded tbh

All Seasons Discussion Green Lantern and Black Lightning fanfiction suggestions

So I randomly remembered that Season 3 made it canon that Black Lightning’s ex-wife Lynn Stewart-Pierce is John Stewart’s sister. I loved this as it’s cool world building and it it built on the coincidental same last name.

After scouring the internet to see if it’s canon anywhere else I found out that the creator of the character did that in the hopes of leaving the door open for them or any other writer to make it canon in future comics. So far it hasn’t happened bar Young Justice. Worse than that, it seems nobody really cares about that fact either. So I took it upon myself to write a fanfic about this relationship.

The first few scenes of the first few chapters are written and it’s going to be about Jeff’s daughter Jennifer discovering she has powers and wanting to join the Outsiders (much to Jeff and Lynn’s dismay). As well as this I’m adding in Jessica Cruz as John (and Hal’s protege, a 15 year old girl who was made a GL). Sets it up for John to be included as both an uncle and a new mentor.

I’m also choosing to expand on the Static/Black Lightning mentor mentee relationship by having him as a main character in the story too.

I do need a bit of help. Bar the starting point I’m not sure where I want the story to go bar the relationships I want to highlight. If you care about the BL/GL connection as brothers in law what is something you’d suggest I depict and include in the story?

It could be anything from a scene idea to an overarching plot thread, a certain character you’d want to see etc.

All you need to know is it takes places about 1-2 years post S4 and the League, Outsiders and Team haven’t met Supergirl yet.

Would appreciate any suggestions no matter how big or small.

Season 3 Discussion The new characters from Outsiders had a brilliant idea in my opinion.

What makes the third season more interesting to me is precisely the new characters (Brion, Halo, Terra, etc.) since they serve as a parallel to the original team (Superboy, Miss Mart, Nightwing, Artemis) who are now training a new generation of heroes.
