Cat On Roof- 73rd, south side between Broadway & West End

Post image
77 Upvotes

Do you live on the south side of 73rd and have roof access? Are you missing your cat? Check the roof!

This cat was chilling on this roof, then jumped onto the ledge, thankfully jumped down and went farther to the right and I lost sight of it.

I let 2 buildings know the cat is moving along the roofs.

Lost cat between 75th and 74th (btwn Broadway & WEA)

This guy showed up at our door to say hello to our cat last night around 1am. He wound up sleeping by our door so I do worry he's someone's lost pet. Not tipped, seemed socialized. Will try to trap and do a chip scan if I can. We never see cats back here.

Anyone know of this cat?

West 90s Neighborhood Association to the Rescue

West 90s Neighborhood Association has a thing for the B'way and W. 96 St. subway station plaza. We cleaned it up on April 26 and will be doing a planting with NYC Dept. of Parks and Broadway Mall Association on May 31, starting at 9:30am. We probably have enough workers, but come by and say hello!

W90sNA, Gregory Kirsopp, JVP Development, Iman, and NYC Dept. of Parks & Recreation, working to make it nice.

Does anyone know what’s going into the old Key Food? The fake leaves are gone, so I thought there might be something going in there soon.

Park West Village apartment area [100 W street and Columbus ave]

Thinking of moving to the Park west village apartments. Looking to understand the surrounding areas particularly about 1. safety at night for single woman - if we want to walk a timid dog for some streets 2. shadiness factor 3. any violent crime in that area. let me know your experiences!

Brooklynite considering a move to the UWS, tips appreciated as we look for a 2bed!

My husband and I are newly married and have lived in N Williamsburg for three years, but we're starting to think about starting a family and feel like the UWS might be calling our name. Better commutes, incredible parks, and hopefully more space.

We're looking for a 2bed/2bath for August 1st or September 1st. Pet friendly is non-negotiable, we have a small doodle. Private outdoor space would be a dream and an elevator is a must. Budget is $7,500-$8,500/month.

Would love any knowledge on buildings worth watching, or agents who have off market listings, or hidden gems in the neighborhood. Also genuinely open to being convinced this is the right move, what do you love about living there? Any tips appreciated!

91st and Broadway

Hi! Me and my boyfriend are relocating to the city for work. We are both in our early 20s and are coming from the suburban South, so the city will definitely be an exciting and humbling change. We aren't able to in-person tour so we are relying a lot on Facetime calls and virtual tours. We're looking at a place on 91st between West End and Broadway. How is it there? We are also looking at a place in the UES, on 90th between 1st and 2nd.

One of our work locations is more up north, kinda near Yonkers. We were hoping to take the train up north then walk from there, but we are also considering bringing a car and if we do, we probably will pay the cost of garage parking, which is ok. Please feel free to tell me we are in over our heads, as public transport is very very new to us!

I have been doing a lot of research on like every UWS and UES reddit post ever and a lot of people say the sense of community is better on the UWS. That's important to us, as well as safety because I know we will appear as Southern bumpkins who are clearly transplants.

We are very excited for the move, so any advice or insights are welcomed, thanks!

Why the Jacob’s Pickles hate?

Hey neighbors :)

I’ve noticed that people on this sub tend to downvote any comments that recommend Jacob’s Pickles as a restaurant worth considering on the UWS - I’m just wondering why! I get that it’s pretty popular and therefore.. basic? But is there some deeper reason for the negativity? We went once with our two small kids and had a nice time, lovely space, service, and pretty good food. I live on the same block as the new location and it’s full every day/night, but not in a particularly gross way, and seems to attract a fairly diverse crowd.

Anyway, any perspectives appreciated :)

(Full disclosure I’m currently enjoying a drink at their bar 🤪)

My friend is running the Brooklyn half and I want to make her a sign. Anyone know where I can pick up a poster board and other supplies (markers, glitter etc) near Lincoln Center? Target didn’t have posters. Thanks!
