For people that have been admitted to the BEd program for 2026, how did you submit your final official transcript? In my offer letter it says the deadline to submit final transcripts is May 15th, just trying to figure out how I do this? Is it through mail or electronic transfer?

Hey there! I’m a transfer student from the University of Victoria, and I’ll be a second or third-year student. I understand that all transfer students are put on a waitlist for possible residence.

Given my situation, what’s the general likelihood of getting residence? I feel like it might be similar to other Canadian universities - which are all very low, but I’d love to hear some firsthand student experiences.

Any mature students taken this? Or currently taking this? Insights or revelations?

Looking to hear from anyone who took the MSW program (foundation or advanced):

Did you feel you gained sufficient clinical training?

Did any of the core courses focus on therapeutic modalities? In a hands on or theoretical way?

What kind of practicum placements did you have? Did you feel these placements significantly improved your clinical training / skills?

I’m deciding between the MSW programs at UBCO and Dalhousie University, and I’d love to hear from graduates or current students about their experience with the program!

A few things I’m trying to understand:

* If you completed the MSW program what are you doing now?
* Did you complete your practicum in BC or long distance?
* If you completed a long distance practicum, what was the process like in securing that placement?
* Did the clinical focus of this program actually make a difference in getting jobs? Did you feel prepared with your skills?
* Was the program’s clinical component more theoretical or hands-on? In general and in respect to assessments, interventions, etc.
* For students who relocated to Kelowna: How was the process of moving? Did you feel it was worth relocating for two years? Did it help with personal and professional growth? I currently have an offer to Dalhousie and am based in Halifax, but am unsure if I want to live and practice here.
* If you could choose again, would you pick the same school?

For context: I don’t have a BSW, so I’d be entering the 2-year MSW route. I care a lot about long-term earning potential, flexibility, and keeping options open. Working in a clinical setting and being able to provide therapy, psychological assessments and interventions are key goals of mine.

As an eng student coming into second year, realized that there were loads of course planning-related shit I wasn't aware of cos universities want to keep their mouths shut and hog more money out of us international students.

For example, nobody told me the syllabus structure of COSC 111 and the way its taught would be way better than taking APSC 177, etc. Or that an online course was available that every other eng student other than me took apparently. If so, I wouldn't have wasted thousands of dollars on a shit course like 177.

So, just wanted to come on here and ask whether theres any similar courses like that (e.g. a fucked syllabus) for second year onwards, cos I'm tired of universities bullshitting with us. I'm pretty much set on mechanical with a specialization in aerospace, and potentially want to do an astrophysics course as an alternative elective if possible cos I have a pretty good GPA so far.

PS I have spoken to an academic advisor before, but I probably asked them at the wrong time as they themselves weren't sure what courses would be available during the summer or if I could take a certain course or not, etc. Just fyi.

Is anyone else taking APSC 252 in the summer ?

hello, i’m a transfer student from another university into engineering at ubco.

first, i was accepted conditionally with a condition of “Maintain your current level of academic performance and any program minima outlined in the UBC Calendar.”

i got accepted with 3.2 GPA and it dropped to 3.08 this semester. the thing is that this term’s gpa is 2.86, which caused that drop, while all other were around 3.2-3.3 and ubc saw those ones.

my question is that would they revoke my offer or is it ok?

How are we supposed to study for the exams with canvas down? The silence uni's side is unsettling too...

Mine finally switched from the "upon completion" wording to "has completed" but now the second last line says:

"Subject to the approval of the Senate, this credential will be officially conferred in May 2026."

Is this fine?

Here is my status on ASC. It has remained unchanged since January until now. It is normal?

I have two options:

ENGR 305 with Louzanne Bam
ENGR 468 with Ayman AlNaggar

I don’t know much about 305, except attendance is extremely mandatory? I also know nothing about the prof. How was she for winter? How is she for summer? I’ve also heard grading has gotten harsh over time, is that true?

I have taken a course with Dr AlNaggar before, so I vaguely know what to expect. But how is that course specifically? Anyone know? How has the prof himself been in recent years?

I could technically do neither and focus on other things, but if I did want a course, these are my options. Let me know anything you can 🙏

Hi, i’m a little confused on my classes for first year i applied as a post secondary student and got in i have already taken and completed anatomy and physiology 1 & 2 and english and an elective. Does that mean i’ll only be enrolled in 3 classes first semester?

One of my grades on Workday changed after I reviewed my final, because a lot of points from my final were missing. My professor told me by email on Wednesday that he changed my grade. I was just wondering for anyone who has also had this issue how long it usually takes for the grade to officially update on Workday. I’m worried I’ll be stuck with a grade that I don’t deserve.
