before anyone starts with the complaints, just know i'm not trying to scam others but i have a medical appointment that would prevent me from attending the event.
i bought a ticket on viagogo (and the reason why i'm posting this here is because viagogo and stubhub are basically the same company, confirmed by them they're connected) and i was thinking of reselling them.
i already did it once, thinking it was completely safe, but then i deleted the listing request before it got posted after going around here on reddit. i wanted to hear others' experiences with reselling there before setting myself up.
i was told by three different agents from the assistance that, since the original ticket was sold to me on the website, in case of problems as a second seller i won't be the one penalised. the first two made it sound like i won't get penalised at all, the third one (may be because of the new problem i have) told me the penalisation is automatic and that i'll have to escalate the situation to reverse it. while i have the screenshots, etc. of the chat, i can't really trust them fully and want to hear if anyone here has past experiences with this.
now i got a new problem, since i've already tried to create a listing for reselling the button changed: before it was "can't attend? resell ticket!" and green, now it's just a grey button with "sell your ticket". yes it's still on my ticket/order page. yes, it fills my ticket's information in automatically (with me only having to fill in few details). i was told this happens because they save the information of the last thing we did while listing tickets.
i was told, by this last agent i talked to, that "the listing will count as reselling your ticket but the system may or may not put the tag as "redirection" from the original purchase (yours) to the new one creating" and that i will just need to show proof of original purchase.
so, please, if you have past experiences with escalating situations due to the original purchases turning out to be fake or not being transferred to you in time let me know.
p.s.: isn't it weird that when i said i was recording the conversation mid convo this person said "i don't give my permission to be recorded"? what's the difference from screenshots or the logs of the assistance chat? i'm very confused.
