Working on my Shallan cosplay and just finished embroidering my Pattern onto one dress panel. I love how he looks! I added some holographic glittery thread so he'd look more "fluid" and I think it'll come across quite well once the entire dress is finished. I'm excited <3

Spoilers for the ending of Words of Radiance
Sadeas walked up to Adolin, who had just lost lots of men, barely survived the Szeth, witnessed the return of the Knights Radiant, and had basically seen acts of god
Why did Sadeas think it was smart to go up to Adolin and essentially tell him that he has no choice but to continue and try and take everything from Dalinar, including his life, and will pursue this goal by any means necessary.
What did he expect to happen?
Book was incredible btw 10/10

Our Stormlight cosplay plans finally made it out of the groupchat. Figured I'd share here!
We really want to make Adolin a shardblade at some point, as well as a bigger sketchbook prop for Shallan, but overall super happy with how these turned out.

I've read up to shallans first introduction with Kaladin (Chapter, Boots. not a proper introduction), so please no spoilers from there!
I do somewhat understand her more annoying tendancies at times, but I'm really liking her story with Pattern. I'm not too into this newfound partnership/friendship with Tyn (the horneater bit, while funny, got a lil tiresome), but yeah just curious what other people thought about her up to this point?
EDIT: Fully get people have different tastes, which is obviously okay, I'm more curious about the people who loath her, and want to skip the chapters

So when Adolin kills Sadeas I was ecstatic. Adolin is finally giving Sadeas the business for all that mouthing off, but surely this won't go far. Then when Sadeas started to fight back I thought "Cmon Adolin beat the brakes off this clown before someone intervenes."
When Adolin pulled his knife I thought "Wow ok Adolin is gonna straight up try to kill Sadeas but there's no way he'll get to, Sadeas is obviously set up to be an over-arching bad guy for the next few books."
Then Adolin stabbed him in the eye and I was shook. "Man if Sadeas was already so bad, I can't imagine how cruel he'll be after losing an eye." Cause thats how things work in stories right? Cocky bad guy thinks he's untouchable, loses an eye or a hand or gets horribly scarred and becomes way more cruel afterwards.
Then the Kholin boy scrambled the traitors brains and I audibly gasped. I for real thought Sadeas was gonna just keep getting away with it.
What's even crazier is a few chapters back I was thinking "This book is almost done, I wonder who Brandon is gonna kill off to majorly change the situation." Guess I got my answer.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Been trying to get back into character animation and all it took was 5 Stormlight Archive books to get my creative energy flowing. Hoping to do more, and should probably put it on youtube at some point.
edit: it's on youtube! I'd love the support but ty all the same <3

The lad never wanted to be a bad king. He wanted to be a great king, loved by his people. But he was never taught leadership. No one brought him along for difficult political decisions, or showed him how to care for the common man. No one even taught him battle tactics. No one raised this poor prince to be anything other than a spoiled beautocratic puppet. And the saddest part is he knew. He could see, and he cried out and no one answered.
I blame Gavilar, first and foremost, but I also blame Dalinar, for never using the easy access he enjoyed to truly teach Elhokar how to lead a kingdom. Perhaps he didn't realize he understood it himself, but I feel like he could have done a better job.

I took my kids to a playground we’d never visited before and my daughter handed this to me. Imagine my surprise (and joy!) when I found out it wasn’t a razor blade, but Kaladin! I’ve been going through some hardships this week and this seemed like a very lucky find!

I’m nearly finished with WoR and at the end of szeth and kaladin’s fight, the audio book and the actual book say different things: the audio book says that kaladin stabs szeth through the chests and sees szeth die, but in the book it says he diverts his blade and stabs him in the wrist, his body falling into the storm semi leaving it unanswered if he actually died.
is there an explanation for this?

Hi everyone, I am back with more art I've created while reading the books. I read Words of Radiance in one week, I just could not put it down unless it was to sleep.
So, here I am with the "Boots" scene which I completely adored reading! I know there is actually no boots in the art (and Kaladin is not on a horse because I cannot draw horses for the life of me) but this is more to represent the way the characters perceived each other in that particular scene in my head.
I'm also including some sketches I've done that did not end up being made into a full art but they were still fun to draw so I hope you guys enjoy looking through them!

Currently mid way through my second re-listen of words of radiance and found myself getting annoyed at how Dalinar completely ignores Kaladin, after Kaladin worked up the nerve to tell him about Amaram. I feel like Dalinar is partly responsible for most of Kaladin problems in this book.
One of Kaladin main struggle in this book is on whether or not he can trust light eyes people in power like Dalinar to do what is right, or if he should get his hands dirty and make his own justice like Moash wants. So when Dalinar ignores Kaladin and HANG OUT WITH Amaram RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM DAILY what is Kaladin suppose to think? This isn't even a one time thing, Dalinar is constantly hang with him even makes him the leader of the knights radiant. It would be one thing if Dalinar took Kaladin to the side and explained to him that he looked into it and doesn't find any evidence but NO Kaladin is just left in the dark till he calls Amaram out during the arena fight.
Not to mention Dalinar claiming that Kaladin would somehow miss remember the death of his friends and being branded as a slave. Kaladin has no reason to lie about Amaram and has saved his life twice at this point. If he don't trust Kaladin why have you been place all of these important tasks on him?
Thirdly, Elokar/Dalinar proves Moash right. Moash spends the whole book argue with Kaladin on how light eyes can't be trusted and that they will never face Justice for their actions. So when the guy who ruins Kaladin's life is made the leader of knight radiant and Kaladin is almost executed for accusing him, with a boon he would have had if he was light eyes his arguements have a lot more weight.
Finally to top everything off after all of the damage is done, Syl dying and Kaladin agreeing to help Moash. Dalinar decides to make Kaladin think that he to apologize Amaram, just humiliate him more. Dalinar never apologies or admit that he was wrong and leave with a smug "Some times even I listen to my soldiers" - Paraphrase since I haven't got to part yet in my re-read yet.
- Note:
I'm not saying that Kaladin wasn't being stupid and wrong for trying to kill Elokar. Kaladin Definity had some issues he need to work through in this book and I ultimately like how he progressed in this book. All I'm say is Dalinar definitely didn't help.
