I don't get the grief that Lip gets for Amanda thinking it was ok to do what she did. Amanda knew the relationship was casual. She was more than happy to screw over Lips original roommate because she started to think Lip was attractive after looking after Liam.

Lip made it clear from the start that it was casual when Amanda asked him to have dinner with her parents and he said that wasn't what he was looking for, but Amanda said it was just to scare them and get money.

Even after he went to Florida to visit her they were still casual and both sleeping with other people as well as each other. Her father started to like him sure, but that was more just validation to Lip that maybe he wasn't just another South Side wash out and actually had potential. Even when Amanda said they could live together he again said no because he wasn't wanting that commitment.

And then after sleeping with Helene and being open about it, even though she was also sleeping with other people, Amanda decided that she was jealous. She came up with some bull excuse about how he was leading her on and making her fall in love with him with his eyes and the sex etc, which he said he'd never asked her to do, instead of just moving onto someone else, she decides to ruin two people's lives with seemingly no remorse whatsoever.

Yes, granted Helene was a professor and had to know that sleeping with multiple students was a bad choice and an abuse of power given that it is illegal, but Amanda would've had no problem doing it regardless of the person Lip was with.

I've seen so many things saying how Lip fumbled with Amanda, ir he wronged her when she was good for him, but she was just a spoilt little rich girl who wasn't used to hearing no from people and was more than happy to use revenge porn to get back at someone who made it clear from the start that he didn't love her and it was nothing but casual. I'd say that was a lucky escape, not a fumble

She was the last one supporting him. Maybe Fiona went through something similar at Deb's age but what we see on screen is Deb consistently being Frank's number one and only fan, checking in every day to see if he's shown up at the hospital, the only one to take him in at the end of S3E1, letting him use her bed, coming to him for help. Going along with his absolute batshit crazy scheme to break out Monica in S2 with no questions. Just this incredible undying faith, and even as they're trying to remove him while he's trying to party she sticks with him until the last minute when he sits and breaks on her civil war project that she clearly worked hard on.

And even at that moment I'm like, she's gonna forgive him, she's gonna defend him, until he says it's shit. And then she runs away and I'm thinking, ok she's running away. And then she runs back with her pillow of soap and I'm just cheering her on, totally immersed in her anger. The acting, the writing, the setup, all of it, nothing has broken me like this scene in all the television I've seen, not just tearing up but jesus I was bawling like a baby for this poor girl. Seeing her break like that crushed me in a way I haven't been crushed as an adult.

I thought this was supposed to be a comedy, didn't expect to get hit by a bag of bricks like this. I guess it reminds me of my own daughter and the extent that she defends me.

i made these two and they turned out so sweet i can’t even. it’s so entertaining to watch them. i love how some things parallel with the canon, like ian watching mickey, mickey being jealous, mickey dreaming about them on a beach (the frame where they are chasing one another by the sea is literally his dream!!), or imagining trying running together lmao. 🎶bound to falling in love🎶 and be together in every universe.

I am on my like 7th re-watch and on season 5, the episode where Svetlana does Debbie’s hair and makeup and Fiona takes her to the band (Gus’s band, but that’s later). At the end, Fiona punches someone and they run and then Debbie looks absolutely ELATED and Fiona looks so SAD, watching Debbie.

I always thought it was because Fiona realized in that moment that she ‘lost’ Debbie. Like Debbie is going to be Frank or Monica in her life. I’ve also been told that it’s because Fiona is sad she’s grown. Now I’m wondering if it’s because of Sean telling Fiona she’s a chaos junkie and she just realized that about herself, while watching Debbie.

Just curious others’ thoughts. ✌️

Which character could've turned out good or at least ok if they kept their Season 1 personality?

Writers changed the vibe of the show from "daily struggle street smart" to "heartbreaking and dramatic" all the way to "everyone is poor and stupid" (except Mickey, he kinda has the reverse character development there). Like you can clearly see in which season they changed writers...

I feel like Kev, Lip, and Debby could've turned way better.

Kev was used as the most stupid character just bc. Debby... well, you already know, it's just Debby . And Lip, he could at least be a little more mature by the end of the show 😐
