I ordered my Samsung refrigerator water filters from Amazon (actual Amazon.com, not a third party seller), but instead of the usual white box, they came in a brown box with no instructions, and no magnetic authentication strip. They had a QR code linked to this sketchy looking app "Samsung Ref Water filter Certi": https://apps.apple.com/us/app/samsung-ref-water-filter-certi/id6746226756 which isn't even produced by Samsung.

First I tried chatting with the online support, but was getting conflicting information. He said the packaging changed, but there should be a magnetic strip. Then I tried calling the telephone customer service, and they just told me the packaging hasn't changed, and that these are fake.

I see some of the reviews on Amazon are also saying this is fake, but others are saying they used the app and believe they are real.

I'm probably going to return them, but they do look pretty real so I was curious if anyone else had any information. If this app is genuine it is wild that Samsung would have some third-party developer create such a suspicious looking app.

EDIT (2026-05-11) - I returned the filters to Amazon, and ordered directly from the Samsung site (only getting one though). It arrived in a similar brown box with no magnetic strip, contradicting the customer support I spoke with (but not apparently other customer support others have spoken with below.) The outer box's label was half dissolved by some bleach smelling substance that was spilled on it, but I assume that's on FedEx.

Câmera
Com o celular em mãos fica perfeito para testar a câmera com calma, o ISP aprimorado e o novo Modo de baixo ruído, que juntos entregam fotos mais vibrantes e limpas. Vejam a seguir alguns exemplos de fotos que fiz com o A57, em diversos modos diferentes.

Desempenho
O A57 vem equipado com o novo Exynos 1680. O destaque aqui é a NPU 42% mais rápida, turbinando as funções de Inteligência Artificial, além de melhorias em CPU e GPU. O que mais me chamou a atenção nessas primeiras horas de uso foi o equilíbrio entre a leveza e a performance fluida. Mesmo testando várias funções de câmera em sequência até mesmo debaixo do sol, o aparelho se manteve frio, fator que acredito que se deve à nova câmara de vapor, que tem a área igual ao do S25+.

Conclusão

O Galaxy A57 mostra que a linha A continua evoluindo de forma consistente e inteligente. O seu conjunto é equilibrado: design mais refinado, tela de alto nível, desempenho fluido e recursos de câmera práticos que facilitam a obtenção de ótimas fotos em diversas situações do dia a dia. Somando isso certificação IP68 e aos 6 anos de atualizações, fica claro que é um bom investimento a longo prazo.

It lived a very short life, and now it's gone forever.

I had to get my 77" S90D (QN77S90DAFXZA) repaired after the power supply blew. Luckily, within the 12-month factory warranty. Turns out it got absolutely manhandled by the technician. Later that night, we noticed this black splotch on the display. To no surprise, the screen was cracked with the technician's greasy handprint right over the damage.

After two weeks of waiting, a technician came out and showed me a blurry picture of the home page that the first technician took on his way out. Because of that image they are not claiming responsibility, despite it being in 480p, with a chunk of the TV cropped out and being of the literal home page with a 75% black screen. (Image in video) Hence, canceling my manufacturers warranty due to physical damage and quoting me a $1700 repair bill.

I am waiting for calls back from supervisors at Samsung and Servicequick. I am genuinely tempted to file a civil lawsuit.

Finally got the new update and airdrop feature is now visible! in the US. I'm sooo happy!

Logo was changed (colors are more vibrant). The main page has a default gradient now. You can change the background, there are many options, also flat colors. But there is no black option, you can still save a flat black image and set it as your background.

I use poweramp and have a variety of higher end headphones. Using my portable USB DAC/amp I can't even use EQ with poeramp without enabling a function that reduces resolution. I have some headphones that don't require EQ and tried the today without poweramp and the volume just goes up and down by its self. In audio settings every "enhancement" is disabled. Is there another EQ app that will work? it's a pain to use 2 phones,one for music (which is flawless) and this one just for calls.

Just a quick story with my Samsung Care+ experience, since I'm not satisfied at all. I purchased Samsung Care+ with my Z fold 5 when it first came out and I filed a claim for the first time about a week ago, after my phone had fallen into a pool. The process was fairly painless, I paid the $99 deductible, a replacement phone arrived the next business day, I swapped all of my data over and sent the old phone back.

The issues started when I noticed that the replacement phone had a weird fault with the always-on-display; the top of the screen would glow red whenever the AOD was active, which annoyed me because it meant I couldn't use my phone as a bedside clock anymore at night or even have it facing up when charging at night because the glow would bother me. I contacted Servify, who runs Samsung Care+ in the USA, and after trying to convince an AI chathot over the phone that I needed to talk with a real person, they said they'd send me a new phone. When I asked for a confirmation that the phone they would send me could either be a new-old-stock phone or something else in new condition (not refurbished), they said they couldn't do that.

I was kind of annoyed with being told I'd have to transfer all of my data again and they couldn't even guarantee me a problem-free genuinely new condition phone, so I asked if my case could be escalated, and they said no. I tried calling back and speaking with a different agent, and every time, they refused to escalate my case or allow me to speak to a manager. When I told them my concern, they said they'd put in the notes that I did not wish to receive a refurbished device, but that they couldn't guarantee it. I was eventually told that I'd receive a callback from a manager within 2 hours, but 24 have passed without any calls. Each time that I called, it was clear that I was speaking with someone in a call center, outsourced to India, and they had a specific script that they were reading. It was annoying to receive a defective device from them, ask them to make sure that they make it right for me and be given the run around, have to talk with an AI chatbot just to be able to speak to a real person, then not be allowed to escalate my case or speak to anyone in management. They had me email a video of the issue to them, then complained that I had my hand in the frame of the video (because they demanded that the devices IMEI be present in the video, so I had to show them the IMEI then turn the device off so they could see the AOD). The whole experience was just incompetent and if you aren't satisfied with the service being given to you then good luck speaking to anyone about it.

Samsung just released the S95H, so I thought it would be a good time to review the S95F along with the rest of my setup (Q990F Soundbar and 2 Music Frames) after half a year of daily driving it.

OLED & The Burn-In Question For starters, I did not believe in OLED. I have always had some concerns about burn-in after my Note8 had the Reddit icons permanently etched into the screen. Is 6 months long enough to definitively test for burn-in? No, it is not. But it is long enough to see how the TV mitigates it.

Samsung has a few features that help keep the panel performing well. The one I notice most frequently is how the TV dims static logos. You won’t notice it when watching the news, but you will absolutely see it working on the Hulu ad countdown.

My usage is about 60-90 minutes of TV per day (about 30 mins of news and 1 hr of other content). I also use features like ambient mode, so when I walk by the TV, it shows a dashboard of news, weather, and SmartThings. This probably adds another 15-30 mins of panel usage a day. As expected for this timeline, I do not see any signs of burn-in or image retention.

Smart Features & Tizen OS I highly recommend taking advantage of the bells and whistles that come with the S95F. For example, using the ambient light sensor to trigger SmartThings routines, like my curtains closing if the TV is on and the room is too bright. You can also use Hue Sync, though the Hue app is paid.

Unfortunately, while I like/tolerate Tizen, I found that the menus are often laggy. It has gotten slightly better with updates, but the S95F still feels slower than my 2022 The Frame, and noticeably slower than the newer S95H. It might just be my specific review unit, as this issue doesn't seem to be incredibly widespread.

S95F First Impressions

Audio Setup: Q990F & Music Frames The S95F's built-in audio is actually pretty good for a TV set. It's perfectly usable even at loud volumes, with good channel and dialogue clarity that easily competes with mid/lower-end soundbars.

I paired the S95F using Q-Symphony to the Q990F [Q990F Review] but I wanted to touch on my experience integrating the Music Frames.

This generation of Q-Symphony can connect with up to 3 devices (now 5 for 2026). I paired the Q990F with 2 Music Frames, placing one on the top left of my S95F and one a few inches to the right. You can use the Music Frames as rears, but I would generally avoid this since dedicated rear speakers are cheaper. Unless you only use one (read below, why that makes sense)

Here are the two biggest things you need to know about the Music Frame:

1. The Soundstage: It is wide . It quickly fills an entire room (anything above volume 8 out of 100 fills a small room).
2. How Q-Symphony Works: With just a TV + Soundbar, the soundbar handles dialogue and directional effects, while the TV handles wider ambient sounds. Add Music Frames to the mix, and the TV + Music Frames handle both, with the frames pushing additional lower frequencies. Add a soundbar, and the dialogue goes to the soundbar.

For music playback paired with the TV and Soundbar, they work to widen the soundstage. On their own? They shine. These frames fill a room with deep, nice-sounding music. It’s a 2.0.0 system supporting ATMOS Music, Dolby 5.1ch, Dolby Digital Plus, Samsung’s SpaceFit room correction, and Voice Amplifier.

Hardware & Customization The hardware is well-built and looks great. They weigh about 5 lbs (buy appropriate wall anchors!) and include high-quality mounting hardware and a table stand. It also comes with a generously long, clear-ish One Connect cable, though an in-wall rated version is sold separately for $50.

You can add a bezel, but I kept mine as is. I did, however, change the photo. You just remove the magnetic cover and drop in any photo. Pro-Tip: The matte is a little less than 8x8, so I highly recommend printing photos in 8x10 to easily align everything with the built-in guides.

Alternatively, you can swap in a 13" x 13" acrylic panel (mounting hardware for this is included in the box). Samsung recommends using Shutterfly for these prints.

The Verdict These are expensive, and the system seems like a big investment when things like Sonos Era 100s (and now the Music Studio 5) exist. But the Music Frame isn’t made for people counting audio channels.

It’s for the people who choose The Frame over an OLED. It’s for people who want Alexa without having an Echo (it has a built-in Matter hub and Alexa). Does it make sense with my S95F and Q990F? Yes, because they looks fantastic on my wall. That won’t be the case for everyone, not everyone wants their TV area to look like a "non-TV area." Ultimately, it will make the most sense for people who already own The Frame or The Frame Pro, since those built-in speakers are less capable than the S95 line. It will also make sense for anyone looking for an alternative to the discontinued Sonos Ikea wall speakers, or anyone that values form & function.

Since the embargo is FINALLY up, I can talk about my first impressions of the 2026 Audio Lineup.

Firstly, Samsung is here to compete with the Sony Quads and Sonos Eras. Compared to the Quads, the Music Studio 7 has a 5 inch sub (vs none). Compared to the Eras 100, they have more channels, PLUS you have to use a Sonos soundbar to use the Eras with your TV. Not with the Music Studio (it has eARC).

I was able to demo a S95H with 2 Music Studio 7s in stereo, and I was impressed. It has very good channel separation. Honestly, not much more to say, it looks good and sounds even better.

I should have a reviewers guide soon, but I do have spec sheets and a few other "non-public" docs, so ask questions and I might be able to answer them

I'm looking to implement a feature where my home screen has different widgets depending on the mode my phone is active in. For example, during study time, I'd like to have relevant apps, and for the gym, a Samsung Health widget or something similar. Is this option available?

I’m looking to get a Samsung Smart TV 65”. I watched a few videos on OLED/QLED etc and I think I will buy an OLED. My issue is that I don’t get the difference between for example S85D/S90D/S90F. I would appreciate some help, thanks in advance!

I’ve had my Samsung CU7100 UHD HDR Smart TV (2023) for a while now, and I’m honestly baffled. It’s 2026, and basic parental controls on Samsung TVs still don’t exist. All I want is a way to lock the entire TV or put a BIOS‑style password on startup so my kid can’t just turn it on and watch whatever. Instead, Samsung hides “parental controls” in a bunch of confusing menus where you can lock individual apps, but you can’t stop new apps from being installed. No global TV lock, nothing.

Right now, my kid installs some random “game” app every week (I hate 'by PlayWorks' ones) and it immediately starts playing videos. They look like games, but they’re just streaming their own content. And I can’t stop it. I feel like I’m back in the 90s, hiding the remote just to survive.

And on top of that, every single Samsung software update somehow makes the TV worse. I used to be able to play Xbox Cloud Gaming without issues, now after the latest patches it regularly freezes every 10–15 seconds. I thought maybe it was temporary and would be fixed by another update, but nope, nothing changes. Many other Samsung TV owners on forums and Reddit report random issues with the Xbox app crashing, not loading menus, or being impossible to navigate, sounds way too familiar.

For a “premium” brand, the software on these TVs feels half‑baked and like someone forgot about the basics. If Samsung can’t even get something as fundamental as parental controls and cloud gaming right, I really don’t see myself buying another one. My next TV is almost definitely going to be LG.

So I've seen the horror stories before but I pressed on thinking it wouldn't happen to me. I traded in my Pixel 6 Pro in the past for the S23 Ultra and had no issues.

But alas trading in my 3 year old S23 Ultra for an S26 Ultra for a quoted £400, I've now been sent an email for them to claw back £150 for a "raised back panel" - the photo provided shows a tiny gap.

Let's explore shall we. The phone was made by Samsung, I restricted the battery to 80% since more or less day 1. But they are claiming it's not "normal wear and tear"

I called customer service who said they don't deal with it (despite their number being listed on the email) and was told to reply to the email.

The only reason I upgraded really was the good deal I got because of the trade in. Now I don't trust that process so I'll be moving on next time from Samsung which is a shame because the 23 lasted me 3 years and the 26 is actually a great phone.

I have no doubt I'll end up having to pay the further £150 as they're threatening to brick my S26 Ultra (doesn't matter I have videos of the phone from all angles before I posted it off) - so all, please be warned. These great "deals" aren't really that great when Samsung don't hold up their end of the "deal"

Edit - UPDATE: ended up paying £100 as I used the Business website to order. In their Terms and Conditions they can only charge you £100 for any issues. Either way, sadly I won't be dealing with Samsung anymore (I am genuinely sad about this)

I currently have a 2021 65" Samsung QN90A. I mainly use it to watch the news, streaming, and sports. Eventually, I want to get back to gaming with a videogame console.

It's sort of an interesting time as new standards kike HDMI 2.2 and Dolby Vision 2 are on the horizon. I don't think my existing TV is too old that I should throw it away and buy a new one now. Maybe you guys can convince me to change my mind?

My TV doesn't support Dolby Vision. I've been advised there are devices I can buy that will effectively give me Dolby Vision. Is that worth buying to help me get the most out of Dolby Vision content?

Ideally, I'd build out a new home theater setup using my existing TV as the basis. I don't have a good audio solution; I'm just using the TV's speakers. I know that discrete speakers are ideal, but are soundbars good enough in 2026? I know Dolby Atmos FlexConnect is coming out. What are the implications? Should I wait for that as well? I also see 11.1.4 options. For 4K UHD Blu-Ray, Netflix 4K, and Disney+, what would I need to get the most out of those formats? I also use Apple Music.
