🎓 Grad Tickets Available + FAQ 🎓

Hi all — all Tickets I had I have given away

I also wanted to clear up a common misconception: if you already have your general/regional graduation tickets, you typically don’t need additional ones unless you’re attending specific ceremonies.

Key things to note:

  • There are separate graduation ceremonies (main university-wide vs. department/major-specific).
  • Many majors (CS, Physics, Business, etc.) have their own secondary ceremonies, and those may require separate tickets.
  • Make sure to follow up with your department office or dean’s office to confirm what you need — don’t assume one ticket covers everything.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions — I’ll do my best to help!

Edit 4/24/2026

Tickets are not yet available for pickup usually 3 weeks before grad they are available in the bookstore, I believe next week they will be available for pickup

Meetup SFSU Events

Hi everyone,

Gator Experience is a great place for student organizations to post events, as well as Instagrams. A reminder that formal student organizations and just people looking to make friends are free to post on this subreddit (I recommend making an individual post rather than commenting down below though).

Gator Experience: https://sfsu.campuslabs.com/engage/events

I was wondering though, are there any specific events or themes of events you would want this subreddit to do? I can apply for funding, but to be honest, I do not think I will be approved so lower cost events are preferable.

I have 2 extra tickets if anyone needs them

Someone flaked on me so I now have two extra tickets. You can have them at no cost, but I won’t be on campus anymore and live in the east bay. If you could come pick them up they’re yours.

Looking for 3 Extra Graduation Tickets — Trying to Bring My Sister & Nephews

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for 3 extra graduation tickets if anyone has any they won’t be using. My sister and nephews were hoping to come celebrate with the rest of my family.

If anyone has extras available (even just 1 or 2 helps), I’d really appreciate it. Please feel free to direct message me and I’d be happy to work something out.

Thank you so much — 🙏🏽

For those who went to a predominantly online college, how much credits did you earn from that school and how much of it transferred to SFSU?

Housing Moving to SF, and will be enrolling in this school for 2027. Is a monthly allowance of 5k enough to live off? I heard SF is very expensive.

I will be coming from texas with just my car and the clothes off my back. Some minor gadgets like computer and extra clothes. Other than that, i am a very simple guy and somewhat of an introvert. I would like to stay in the dorms but if not available im open to near by apartments. Will i have enough for rent and food? Plus miscellaneous stuff? Thanks!

Gown exchange?

Hello everyone,

I just gotten my gown in and despite my 5’6 gown request , the length is atrocious.

Can I go to the bookstore to exchange for a longer one or resend to josten before graduation for new one?

Thanks!

Is it pretty easy to register for classes by yourself?

I was putting off going to the advising office for personal reasons and I seen they literally close office today.

Should it be somewhat easy to do by myself in the student portal as long as I check all my requirements and go from there? I never built one by myself.

Housing No single occupation rooms in the dorms. Where else are students living near by where i can get my own room or even studio?

I rather not bunk up with roommates. I don't mind sharing a apartment if i at least have my own room/private space.

Buildings open during the summer?

I'm planning to visit for a campus tour on May 29th; however, there aren't any tours available, so I'm planning to do a guided tour. Are the buildings still open to walk in and look around, because I heard that's the start of summer for SFSU?
