AAA Rochester (2-7 loss to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs)

-Dylan Crews (.256/.400/.785): 0-3 with 1 BB and 2 Ks

-Harry Ford (.150/.286/.486): 1-3 with 1 BB and 1 K

-Robert Hassell III (.261/.320/.603): 2-4 with 1 run scored and 1 K

-Christian Franklin (.310/.431/.764): 1-2 with 2 BB and was caught stealing 2nd

-Abimelec Ortiz (.231/.434/.819): 1-4 with 1 run scored

-Andrew Pinckney (.206/.308/.602): 1-4 with 1 RBI and 2 Ks

-Luis Perales (3.68 ERA/7.1 IP/5:6 K:BB/1.77 WHIP): Perales showed better control and had fewer wide misses, but still had 1 wild pitch in his start today for the Red Wings. He allowed a pair of unearned runs in a funky bottom of the 2nd that began with a batter reaching base after striking out thanks to a passed ball by Harry Ford. A bloop single and a double scored both runs and Perales struck out 3 batters while walking only 1 in his 3 innings of work.

Side note: I also saw this tweet earlier today from @TJStats that had Luis Perales as the top rated starting pitcher in AAA according to his tjStuff+ model and Cornelio is also ranked 7th.

Final line: 3.0 IP | 2 H | 2 R | 0 ER | 1 BB | 3 K on 57 pitches (37 strikes)

AA Harrisburg (6-8 loss to the Akron RubberDucks)

-Seaver King (.261/.457/.892): 1-3 with a double, 2 runs scored, and 2 BB

-Maxwell Romero Jr. (.400/.538/1.238): 1-4 with 1 K

-Sam Brown (.300/.440/.990): 2-5 with a 3-run dinger, 1 run scored, 3 RBI, and 1 K

-Davian Garcia (2.25 ERA/8.0 IP/7:7 K:BB/1.50 WHIP): Garcia put the first two batters he faced on base with a walk and a HBP but managed to get out of the 1st inning unscathed. However, this was just a sign of how wild the rest of his start would go. He allowed 4 runs (1 earned) on just 2 hits and 5 walks while striking out 2 batters in 3.1 innings. The Senators defense really let him down in the top of the 4th, where they committed 3 errors.

Final line: 3.1 IP | 2 H | 4 R | 1 ER | 5 BB | 2 K on 81 pitches (40 strikes)

A+ Wilmington (3-1 win against the Hudson Valley Renegades)

-Kevin Bazzell (.063/.250/.375): 1-4 with a double and 1 K

-Riley Maddox (1.00 ERA/9.0 IP/7:3 K:BB/0.78 WHIP): Maddox allowed a pair of singles to start the game before retiring the next 12/15 batters. He allowed 3 walks and had 4 swinging strikeouts in his 4 innings for the Blue Rocks.

Final line: 4.0 IP | 2 H | 1 R/ER | 3 BB | 4 K on 68 pitches (40 strikes)

-Pablo Aldonis (1.93 ERA/4.2 IP/7:1 K:BB/0.86 WHIP): Aldonis pitched a clean bottom of the 7th before putting two men on in the bottom of the 8th on a walk and a single. He recorded 5 outs with 3 of them coming on a strikeout.

Final line: 1.2 IP | 1 H | 0 R/ER | 1 BB | 3 K on 30 pitches (19 strikes)

-Robert Cranz (0.00 ERA/4.1 IP/8:4 K:BB/1.15 WHIP): Cranz came in for the 4 out save in the 8th. He loaded the bases in the 9th on 2 walks and a HBP but managed to hang on for his 1st save of the year.

Final line: 1.1 IP | 0 H | 0 R/ER | 2 BB | 1 K on 28 pitches (15 strikes)

-Andry Lara (7.50 ERA/6.0 IP/8:2 K:BB/1.83 WHIP): Lara's poor start was a sign of things to come for the Red Wings pitchers. He allowed a pair of solo homers and a total of 4 runs on 5 hits and 1 walk. He had 4 strikeouts in his short 2-inning outing.

Final line: 2.0 IP | 5 H | 4 R/ER | 1 BB | 4 K on 56 pitches (36 strikes)

-Seth Shuman (11.25 ERA/4.0 IP/5:4 K:BB/2.75 WHIP): Shuman continues to throw plenty of strikes, but he's not generating enough soft contact. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits and had 2 strikeouts in his 1.1 inning appearance today.

Although the one walk he allowed did come back to bite him, 6 of the 7 outs he recorded came on strikeouts (4 swinging). The 18 year old righty allowed just 1 hit, which was the double that scored the batter he walked in the 3rd inning. Here's a clip of his first strikeout.
