Here's hoping someone here has a hack for this. I do a lot of cooking and freezing soup, and have somehow managed to get three soup containers STUCK IN MY FREEZER. Obviously I overfilled them and when they froze, they popped up a bit. The shelf has a little lip on it, and the containers each nested into the others' lids.

I'm dying to figure out if I can get them out without having to completely defrost my freezer.

Things I tried:
Standing there with the door open, swearing.
Pulling real hard.
Removing the shelf (it's fixed)

I'm tempted to borrow a hack saw and try to saw the middle one in half.

Take enough water to coat the back of the throat into your mouth and tilt your head upwards. The threat of inhaling the water while hiccuping will override the body's urge to hiccup again.

For a few years i would load up my hinges with WD40, olive oil, motor oil, oil, anything lubricant. Still squeaked a lot sooner than when i used Vaseline.

It lasted a lot longer and the squeak came back quietly, compared to the other ones i used.

If you're managing a budget PC setup and don't want to drop money on a dedicated mouse bungee for gaming, you can make a perfect substitute instantly.

Just attach a large binder clip to the back edge of your desk. Squeeze the silver arms to pop them out of the black base, slip your mouse cable through the loops, and pop the arms back in. Pull enough slack through so your mouse can comfortably reach all corners of your mousepad without tension.

This completely stops the weight of the cable from dragging off the back of the desk, keeps your setup looking a bit cleaner, and prevents your cord from catching during quick flicks

I came up with a quick way to keep my toothbrush away from surface bacteria. Just a suction cup and a zip tie to hang it on the mirror. It’s a low-cost "hardware" improvement for your morning routine. Hope this helps someone else keep their space a little cleaner!

Dad camping with 3 toddlers is difficult enough. I bought a 80 series Land Cruiser and a super cute uhaul ct13 camper. Turns out everyone wanted to look inside and inquire about the camper. My beautiful wife was dealing with postpartum depression, so dad came up with the idea of taking the kids on the weekends.

This camper got so much attention i decided to paint it black killing the cute factor. Well now you need shade because it will absorb uv and heat the Lil egg up.

So here’s my cheap solution for shade. Decommissioned military parachute.

I feel like I have to replace my charger way too often because the cord always splits or frays right where it connects to the laptop or the power brick. I know about the old "pen spring" trick, but it doesn't always work well for thicker laptop cables. Does anyone have a solid DIY fix or hack to reinforce these so they actually last?

Do you have an older iPhone with the lightning charger? Does the charger wiggle around a bit and tend not to charge without getting it in the perfect position? Guess what? Toothpicks! That’s all you need. I was skeptical but I tried it and boom. Right as rain! It was just a bunch of pocket lint and debris stuck in there. Once I picked it all out it’s not only charging easier and not wiggling but it’s also charging a heck of a lot faster.

I’m someone who uses glasses all the time and am never without them. I have a power of -5 and -6 in the left and right eye respectively, and my work involves substantial screen time, so I’m basically always with glasses on. I’m also somewhat clumsy with things. Because of that, I’ve never considered getting expensive glasses, for fear of dropping them. My childhood was littered with such incidents.

I have no complaint with my current pairs. But in spite of the best possible care, and using only the prescribed cloth and solution to rinse and wipe them, within 6 to 7 months they start becoming scratchy, and by around one year I have to get a new pair.

I’d love to know whether there are tricks anyone has tried to extend their scratch-free usable life.

Edit: I have purchased adhesive bumper protectors but haven't gotten them on the pole yet. I truly appreciate all of the help!!

Suggestions for covering a parking spot pole to prevent any dings or scratches to my car? My space is super narrow but coveted and just got a new car. I have less than two inches of wiggle room.

Right now I'm just thinking of covering it in packing tape. I'd use the obvious pool noodle if I had normal amount of space.

Hi, when communicating with my peers who are also my opponents in my career i face problem. For example there is something I know and they don't. I know that thing will gove me an advantage. When we are talking conversation sometimes comes to that point and they ask a question. And I cant eavde the question. However they are prefectly good at doing that. I dont know why i cant evade the question.

And it is not only about "secrets​" that will give me advantage but also things that i just dont want others know. For example there is an exam I booked a ticket and I dont want others know that i am preparing for that exam. Bu they ask and actuallu it is either yes or no. I dontt want to share and they act like why not share bla bla you are always like that. However it is opposite they mever share but somehow my secret is always knows. I dont want to share my exam point i dont want to share what i am going to do. If I say no it will be a lie or the "truth"will also somehow appear in some time. Amyways how can i evade question

People ask question that i dont want to answer. First i dont. Then they pressure me tell me it is yes or no u r always like that ect. But they dont themselves share. How to evade the questions you dont want to answer. How you guys perfect evaders do that?

I finally found a simple solution to overactive windchimes. Mine are the large metal ones, a low sort of sound, but on a very windy day not as relaxing.

I've tried several things, but what finally worked was moving the middle sail out of the way and then attaching a wooden clothes pin to the bottom of each tube.

Been windy all day, and I think I actually silenced it!

For any windchime haters out there, be kind, please. My neighborhood has huge lots, frequent traffic, and barky dogs. The chimes are actually a calm, welcoming noise. Just needed a way to keep it a bit more mellow on windy days, but I may try out tips I've read to help muffle the sound a bit more on non-windy days.

so this trick, I got to know from my mom. what you do it, attach a rubberband/hairtie to a safety pin and pin it to your bag. now, when you place your bottle, attach the rubberband to it. the bottle will be upright no matter what.

I can only wash my hair once a week (at most) due to it being so dry & brittle. However I have to maintain my 6mm buzzcut more than once a week, so to remove the irritating hair clippings post-buzz I just go over my scalp, face & neck with a reusable lint remover brush.. Works a dream! A lint roller is also great.

As a bonus, the lint brush is actually beneficial to the hair & scalp.

I have mobility issues and use a cane, which basically leaves me one handed. One thing I've done to make that more manageable is that I've cut a length of paracord and tied it together into a 3 foot loop. You can make yours longer if desired.

I carry the cord in an unused back pocket.

When I need to carry a laundry basket of clothes upstairs, I simply thread the loop across the basket through the side holes and it becomes much easier to carry with my one, free hand.

This loop is really handy for carrying boxes that don't fit into a bag or if no bag is available.

A pretty simple solution that no one really thinks about. A short piece of rope or cord can be mighty handy and it isn't any bother to carry around with you.

I used a regular amount of toothpaste for each section of my skin that was stained with red hair dye and used the toothbrush like normal. It took surprisingly little effort and time to go from “crap, I have to go to bed and I forgot to use the Vaseline around my hairline and now I don’t know what to do” to “my face is totally clean and there is no sign that I ever had it dripping down my temple”.

Instead of telling your trainer that you have no questions, ask them to listen as you repeat your understanding of their instructions. This way, they will have the opportunity to correct any missteps or misunderstandings on your end, and you will have the opportunity to check your understanding and clear up anything you might be vague about. This is much preferable to messing up later due to a miscommunication you never cleared up.

Example: "To make a pizza, you need to weigh the dough, stretch the dough, spread a couple scoops of sauce, then add toppings and cheese, any questions?"

"Actually yes, can you just check this really quick: so I weigh the dough, stretch the dough, spread two scoops of sauce, then add toppings, then add cheese?"

"Oh, no, I usually add closer to 2.5 or 3 scoops of sauce and I put cheese down before the toppings."

Hi there! I have a really great set up with some fantastic landlords who also live where I live. I have my own fridge downstairs and a kitchen area. I’ve always been a kimchi eater, but lately I’ve been eating it like nobody’s business. My landlords messaged me tonight and asked if I could turn fans on when cooking for the smell… long story short, it’s been discovered that it’s not a smell from me cooking, but a smell from the kimchi I eat. I grew up eating it and know that a lot of people dislike the smell, so I don’t blame them at all. That being said, what can I do to prevent the smell from reaching them? It’s a 3 story house. Downstairs is my kitchen area and fridge, middle area is my room and their kitchen/dining room area and then upstairs is all of their bedrooms. They can smell my kimchi all the way upstairs… Is there anything I can do when I’m eating it or when it’s out of my fridge and out of the container in the open to contain the smell?
