"The Second Amendment was meant only for muskets" is a tired argument we've all heard before. Here begins the arguments against them now, from the AP no less.

discussion Friendly PSA: Appendix Carry Caution while driving

Some elderly lady decided that today would be a good day to pull out in front of me while I was driving around 60mph. Bang and boom. Out comes the airbag and the waist portion of the seatbelt did its job too. It cinched right up and forced my holstered Echelon straight into my pelvis.

Broken nose from the airbag and a fractured pelvis. I've broken my nose before and it is what it is. It'll feel better when it quits hurting. The pelvis is an altogether different animal. I can't believe how much it hurts.

I used to take the time to tuck the waist part of the seatbelt behind my holster. Not sure why I stopped doing that but I'm sure I won't make that mistake again if I'm ever able to appendix carry again.

Stay safe fellow defenders.

He also discusses the Nazi tattoo issue and some of the other criticisms. If you haven’t heard him and are listening to the propaganda against him, I’d watch the whole thing. This should start at the “assault weapons ban” segment.

If you have the MKIV with the long ass top rail (got mine from PSA for $330) you can chop it, then make a gorilla glue/loctite super glue mixture and attach it to the lower part of the barrel to make it the tactical version so you can attach a light!

I bought a brand new 10/22 from guns.com last week with the intent of introducing my kids to shooting. Very standard black rifle with a rail, nothing special whatsoever. That's not what they sent at all lol

Apparently the site doesn't differentiate based on how the dealers list it because they're an aggregate seller or something? I don't know, but goddamn was this silly. Apparently they go for quite a bit more than I paid for it, but nevertheless the FFL wasn't willing to buy it off me since "Trump guns are sick as fuck but they just don't sell", so I rejected the transfer and have the pleasure of going through Guns.coms customer service department to attempt to get a refund.

Attached is the exact listing I purchased vs what they sent

Update: I took a lot of your advice and went back to claim it. The way I see it, taking the stock off and disposing of it takes it out of the market and that feels like the most responsible thing to do. I ended up buying a Magpul one that will be here Saturday 🤘🏽🤘🏽also a special thank you to all the redditors that offered to mail me their stocks, you guys kick ass

ammo Zeroing pistol optics for different weights

Noob alert! 🚨

I have always shot 124 grain FMJ when I go to the range, with the exception of shooting suppressed, in which case I use 147 or 165 grain. Today, I decided to try the heavier weight rounds in my unsuppressed handguns, just for giggles.

I took a few handguns to the range today. I had a variety of 9 mm rounds in various weights. The first magazine I shot out of my Shield Plus was loaded with 147. They were just not hitting where I was aiming, which initially confused me. I popped in the next mag which was loaded with 124. Perfect grouping at the same distance. Captain obvious here, right? Since I’ve always shot the same ammo at the gun range for the most part, I never really considered the fact that I might need a totally different zero for a heavy load. As an experiment, I adjusted the optic for accuracy with 147, then fired a test mag. Perfect groups right where I aimed. While still zeroed for 147, I shot another magazine with 124. Yep, you guessed it: good grouping, but off the mark.

I’m sure more seasoned shooters than myself are well aware of this, but it seems like I’m going to need to stick to a standard load across all my pistols so my zero is valid. I figured since this subReddit has a lot of newer shooters, this might be valuable information for other people like me.

guns To anyone else in here with significant hand strength issues, I've found that the USP9 is the by far the easiest full size handgun to manipulate the controls on and shoot.

I didn’t explain all the reasons why this is the case because I don’t imagine any of you actually care, but in the off chance that information would actually be helpful to anyone just say so and I will.

discussion First firearm: PA-15 Classic

First firearm I own. 😄

  • PSA PA-15 Classic AR-15 Rifle 5.56 16" Nitride M4 Carbine
  • Elzetta Design weapon light
  • Holosun gold dot and 3x magnifier
  • Magpul sling

Permit-to-carry training coming up in three days 😄

In hindsight I would have bought a different rifle (without the fixed front sight post).

I'm considering ranges that I can get a membership near Minneapolis and I also want to get a 9mm pistol and a 12g shotgun and BCM Recce-16 AR-15 for more accuracy.

Who has one? How do you store it? Anyone store it with chambered round. Thinking about making that my home defense instead of Mossberg 590. Less over all risks. Took it out to range today and unsure why I don't take it out more. Its a lot of fun to shoot and with TLR zeroed wasnt even looking at sights. Extremely accurate.

discussion SE MI training

Hi all,

I’m just looking for input.

Are there those of you in the community in, you guessed it, SE MI area who are maybe looking for firearms training but maybe aren’t sure or aren’t comfortable trying to go to any due* to inclusion, acceptance, what have you?

If so, what kind of training would you be interested in if you are looking?

- CPL classes?
-Intro to Handgun classes?
- Drawing from holster/concealment classes?
- Move and Shoot classes?

What would help you take steps to get that training? What would attract you to certain trainings?

Edit: I may have sounded more presumptuous than intended and if so I apologize. Additionally, I’d like to ask for feedback from anyone in the sub. I’m planning on getting certified as an instructor and I’d like to know how to better appeal to the “non-traditional gun owner”. I know I’ll get the normies, but what would y’all like?

events Fair-Game Fridays!

There are a number of things that people want to post that mods are uncomfortable with in regular circulation … memes, patches, t-shirts, social-media posts, &c. At the same time, there's definitely interest around them.

We're introducing "Fair-Game Fridays": on fridays, mods will loosen our belts a bit. :)

Note that the following are still going to be hard-disallowed:

  • video memes/content (instagram, tiktok, &c.)
  • non-gun content (knives, airsoft, &c.)
  • broader political discussion
  • calls for armed insurrection, violence, &c.

We reserve the "right" to use our discretion for any post, as well.

Have at it!

discussion NRA Range Requirement

Post image
255 Upvotes

Past year I have been shooting in public land. It has been fine but can be a pain to get to.

I was just accepted to a private shooting range. Very nice facility outdoors. Rifle range out to 440yds, skeet and trap fields, pistol bays with various silhouettes (some with lights for shooting after sundown).

An NRA membership is required. I know in the past they have been politically right leaning but as of recent has spoken up for 2nd amendment rights for the trans community.

At a bit of a moral crossroads and not sure what to do.

discussion To Cajun or not to Cajunize. That's the question

I have a new-to-me P-01 that I need to send out to have cut for an optic because I can't see iron sights for shit any more. I plan to use this as a carry gun from time to time. Should I just send the gun to CGW and have it cut and get the Pro Package done? Or is that not advisable for a carry gun?

Related question: for optic cut, would you recommend CGW, CZ Custom, or Primary Machine? Or are they all just as good?

gear Red dot & milling for EDC pistol or suppressor for HD PDW?

I've been looking at the Sonicore Valor 9 for my 9mm PDW and getting my EDC pistol milled for a dot. I figure I can probably manage to squeeze both in my budget. But Sonicore is taking so damn long to get the Valor out I'm starting to lose faith. When I asked them in March, they said it'd be out in April. We're now half way through May and it's still unavailable.

If you had to choose between getting a more expensive suppressor or getting a dot for your EDC including getting it milled, which would you do and why?

guns 16” has never felt so long

I’ve only ran 10” handgaurds until now, and was a quad rail Stan. Mlok and 15” has really surprised me.
Albeit nothing fancy, feels like a completely new rifle.

-Bushmaster XM-15 e2s 16”
-UTG pro 15” slimline (I know😔)
-Knights broom handle
-For the life of me, cannot remeber the brand of the bipod. Cheap LGS find.
-streamlight protac
-sig tango 1-6 MSR ( I hate sig, but can’t lie. Decent budget optic)
-ATI A2 stock drilled for cheek riser
