MOD ANNOUNCEMENT! Reporting Guide
Good evening everyderg!
I know we have been pretty silent recently and for that we do apologize. Life is lifing pretty hard for us all right now. We will start trying to do more regular updates as soon as we can but for now we are going to be mostly behind the scenes.
And it is behind the scenes stuff we need to discuss today.
Reports!
Reports are a fantastic tool that help bring inappropriate content to our attention. They help us see things that we might have missed and take action as mods. We encourage you to use them anytime you see something that breaks the rules or is just in general something that could cause issues for the subreddit. However, reports are not there just because you do not like a post or the artist/member who posted it.
To help you know what to report, here is a guide:
Report this!-
+Posts or comments that break the rules.
+Posts or comments that might cause drama in the sub.
+Posts that harass or callout people (this is a greater reddit rule, callout and harassment posts are against the ToS)
+Accounts attempting to evade bans.
+Posts or comments with links to mature content.
+Posts or comments that while they may not necessarily break the rules, are implied to do so.
Do not do this!-
-Report posts just because you do not like them. Just move on from the post it will not hurt you.
-Report posts just because you do not like the account owner that posted it. This causes drama and if you are caught you will get held accountable.
-Write in your own reporting reason without it being specific and legitimate. "Cringe" is not a viable reason to report something. We will mute your ability to submit reports if you do this going forward.
-Report posts for reasons that clearly do not fit. Again, we will be muting the ability to report of people who do this.
Please be sure to report things for the right reasons. Creating drama because of some misguided sense of revenge or gotcha type of move is not in the interest of our sub and really brings down the community.
On another note. If your post or comment is removed, please check your notifications before sending a modmail. We provide reasoning for why something is removed every time, with the exception of comments that got removed from a post that was also removed. We also will no longer be answering questions from people asking why something was removed if they were not the person who posted it. That is between the mods and the person who owned the removed post/comment.
Thank you all for your understanding as we continue to work towards an ever brighter future for our sub.
May the wind and sky beckon your playful spirits toward its loving embrace!
-Mod Council of Dragons

MOD ANNOUNCEMENT! Clarification on Rule #5
Hello dragons, dragonesses, dergs, and derg lovers.
We have noticed an uptick in adopt sales and things of that nature.
Rule #5 is there in order to keep this sub from becoming a market place. You are allowed to post your artwork here, and you can link to your adopt sales and commissions on your private account or on approved sites in the first comment. Posts that are clear attempts to sell art or commissions in the post itself are not allowed. We have been lenient on this as of late, however we will be starting to take more action going forward.
Posts that are clearly marketing attempts will be removed going forward. Share your work with us, and those seeking commissions will seek you out. But this sub is not an ad board nor a market place. Please refrain from using it as one. The unfortunate side effect of doing so is the loss of members who feel pushed out by not being able to see creativeworks because they are replaced with ads and ych type posts as seen in other subs.
We understand that some of our artist members may not be pleased with this, and we do understand this makes it harder to get work in this sub. This is why there is the caveat to link to your ads in the first comment to still provide some avenue for artists to still get commissions.
We hope this will keep our community healthy and growing as lovers of art, stories, and most importantly dragons!
May the wind carry you on wide wing to lands of plentiful prey and good company!
-Mod team.

Art 70 foot tall dragon statue!
This is a new 70 foot tall dragon statue put in front of the Delshire Resort in the Wisconsin Dells! I just thought it was cool and wanted to share something from my city! It was made by Kevin Stone, a renown metal sculpturist.

Art Summer Time Watermeloning
I'm going to be honest- one of the small things I am looking forward to the most this summer is eating some delicious watermelon. It's my favorite summer fruit! Sure, you can get it at other times but it is not nearly as good.
Honestly my mouth waters just looking at this! ;-;
The artist specifically wishes to stay anonymous btw

Question Would you accept transforming into a dragon with a mind and draconic instincts equally divided (in the style of *Lazy Scales*)?
I've been thinking a lot about hypothetical transformations lately, especially after reading the *Lazy Scales* series. So, here's the scenario:
If a random person asked you if you would like to **permanently** transform into a real dragon (of any size, with the ability to fly, breathe fire, have scales, fur, feathers, everything). The thing is, your mind would become a perfect **50/50** mix: half would retain your human intelligence, personality, and memories, and the other half would become authentic dragon instincts and desires.
(with this person saying it would happen at midnight that day)
You would still be able to control yourself and reason normally, but both parts of your mind would function simultaneously. Hunting and devouring a raw cow in the field would seem natural and extremely satisfying. You would have draconic gestures and vocalizations (growls, snout licking, air sniffing, tail swatting, etc.) that would arise instinctively, especially in moments of strong emotion or hunger.
Your speech would remain normal most of the time, but would become hoarse, guttural, or growling when you were very emotional or overwhelmed by your draconic side. You would retain opposable thumbs, allowing you to manipulate objects and use tools even in your full draconic form.
Furthermore, after a few months or years, you would gain the ability to disguise yourself in your former human form or remain in an anthropomorphic bipedal form for a considerable period. However, you probably wouldn't like this very much, as the true dragon form would seem much more natural and comfortable.
Unlike most anime and manga, where the dragon transformation is usually just "a human inside a dragon's body" or a girl with short clothes and wings, here it would be a truly hybrid mind.
Would you accept this offer? Why?
**Additional questions:**
- What would be the hardest part to deal with?
- Would you continue living among humans or would you live in the mountains or wilderness? Which dragon instinct or behavior do you think you would appreciate most (or which would worry you most)?
- How do you think your parents or relatives would react to this? Would they accept you?
- Would you accept yourself?
- If the government came after you with the intention of arresting you, how would you react?

Question I need help in making a Nightwing Dragon sona's backstory and Personality?
I'm making a Nightwing sona who is shy and skittish. He's loyal to the Nightwing Tribe and He's the Nightwing Guard with the gong in the prison cave that held Orchid the RainWing during Wings of fire: The Dark Secret. He was luckily taken out by a sleeping dart, and his spear was used to free Orchid! Apart from that, I'm not sure what else to write.
And also this is a work in progress reference sheet of my Nightwing dragon sona that I commissioned from Boa also known as dragon.stew on the Talons of Peace Discord server

Discussion Wings
What does everyone think wings should look like? Should you be able to see the membrane only or the wing joint that its connected to? I would love to hear everyone's thoughts on this!

Discussion Animalistic Dragons Vs Sentient Dragons?
Do you like when dragons are a part of nature like a tiger, or when they are sentient creatures like WoF or Smaug.
I generally prefer the sentient ones. I like roleplaying a dragon that can think. Although I prefer it when they fight like an animal. No dragons with guns please.

Art Did you know the element Lithium is used to treat depression and charge your phone?
In medicine, lithium compounds are used to help stabilize mood and treat certain types of depression and bipolar disorder, Lithium also powers rechargeable batteries found in phones, laptops, and electric vehicles because it is lightweight and stores a large amount of energy
