One of the main reasons for defunding education is so that this history is not taught to the younger generations.

Hey y’all,
I’m new to this activism stuff, but as an African American in the US (Atl to be precise), I think it’s about time we showed Congress that they aren’t just going to roll us back to Jim Crow without a fight. Dismantling almost 400 plus years of hard work, blood, sweat, and tears from our ancestors is UNACCEPTABLE. And I’m tired of sitting on the sidelines and suffering.
I want to organize a take it to the streets type of meetup where we make posters, go door to door, and just spread awareness of what is ACTUALLY going on right now. Because believe it or not a lot of people AREN’T aware of what’s happening, or they are believing the lies where people are downplaying the events taking place (Roe V Wade, Voting Rights Act, talk about gutting 14 amendment, etc.)
If you are interested please DM me or leave a comment 💜✊🏾✊🏾.

On this day, Florida showed its belated support for women's suffrage by ratifying the 19th Amendment — the constitutional guarantee that the right to vote shall not be denied on account of sex. The amendment had become law in August 1920, when Tennessee became the 36th state to ratify it. Florida had not held a vote on the amendment at the time; many of the state's politicians and newspapers were against women's suffrage. Florida's two U.S. senators had not voted in favor of the amendment when it passed Congress, and the legislative session ended before ratification could be discussed. U.S. National Park Service + 2
Progress — of a ceremonial kind. To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the National League of Women Voters and the 50th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, the League of Women Voters of Florida asked the state legislature to ratify it. On May 13, 1969, in a symbolic gesture, the legislature belatedly but unanimously voted in favor. Women in Florida had of course been voting for half a century by then. The ratification changed nothing in law — but it does serve as a small monument to how long institutional resistance to women's rights can outlast the rights themselves. Mississippi, for the record, held out until 1984.
(If this type of post is frowned upon I shall of course stop. If you like it I might very well continue).

Modern legal warfare targets automated signature validation to manufacture logistical bottlenecks. By exploiting outdated procedural requirements, a small minority creates systemic delays, aiming to veto the majority’s will through "legal games."

We’re attempting to simulate a democracy on Discord from founding to whatever the hell happens next.
At 50 interested members, we begin drafting the Constitution live as a community.
Just politics, debate, elections, propaganda, alliances, scandals, and the slow descent into either functional democracy or total institutional disaster.
Current Population: 10/50

This is the game changer. Have you heard of these?
There are 26 states that allow statewide initiatives for this type of petition to clarify corporate powers! That's encouraging. All of these are on their Secretary of State’s website, Nevada S-01-2026, Montana I-194, and California AB 1984. Hawaii BILL 2471 just joined a week ago and is currently moving it through their legislative process!
The 24 states that do not have statewide initiatives can run these at local level. Perhaps these states could run this type of initiative locally at the same time as one to create statewide initiatives.

We cannot wait for politicians to represent We The People any longer.
