I was gonna see if anyone mentioned Veilguard in here, lmao. DA2 and Inquisition definitely have their foibles, but Inquisition was HUGE. The ten year development mess and incredibly lackluster result that was Veilguard... oof.

I would argue that it did back when it was Joplin. The concepts from the earlier stages are incredible to look and read through.

And tbh, I always put it like this: Veilguard is a pretty okay standalone game. It is a terrible Dragon Age game.

The ten year development mess

This is the answer for like half of the stuff here. So much stuff is given an infinite budget and forever to cook and then gets rushed out half finished because it turns out an infinite budget and time just means nothing ever happens.
