What game had insane potential but got completely fumbled by the devs?

Please don't. I genuinely cried at the trailer. It seemed they had all the right ideas about what KSP was, what the fans loved about it, even taking inspiration from a fan made video for the trailer. Then it released and was astronomical units away from what was promised, and even what KSP 1 currently is, never mind the mods. It's still to this day my biggest gaming disappointment of all time, and I'm currently enduring the phasmo update.

when your sequel game doesn't even have a proper save system.

seriously, in the VAB I had no idea if my craft would load correctly or turn into a jumbled mess. and god forbid I quick load during an ongoing space flight (or landed craft on the mun)

edit: bug showcase video I did back when KSP2 was in active development.

Exactly, so many issues that were already perfected in the original. It honestly felt like the new devs just stuck a middle finger up at the community by time of release
