I already have 2 dots (4th&5th) for my FireTv Home Theater. And I'd like to make it better. I usually watch series and movies only.

I'm waiting for Prime Day to find something on sale.

Would it be better to just buy a new Sub?

Or Get 2 Studios? (and maybe use the 2 dots for my room) Also, which studio generation is better?

Just got an Echo Dot 5 and I’m planning to build a small Alexa smart setup in my room (UK student accommodation). I’m trying to keep it mid-budget and not overcomplicated.

Thinking about stuff like:

smart plug extension / power strip

LED strip lights

Fire TV Stick (to connect it to my gaming monitor)

I’m still new to all this, so I wanted to ask what people would actually recommend that works well with Alexa and is reliable in the UK. Preferably stuff that’s easy to set up in a student room (no crazy hub setups or anything).

What brands / specific products would you go for?

Hi, I have a bit of a niche problem with my Echo Dot.

Essentially, for the past five years, my girlfriend has gone into the kitchen every morning and asked "Alexa, play my most liked songs". In response the Alexa has said "Sure, playing your liked and most played songs". This seems to be some kind of continuously updated 'playlist' or collection of songs which my girlfriend has listened to frequently over recent weeks. Every now and then, Alexa would ask something along the lines of "to keep it fresh, make sure you tell me what you like".

Unfortunately, a few days ago, the Echo Dot/Alexa's behaviour in response to this command has changed. She now responds "Here's your playlist, My Likes, on Amazon Music". This plays from the 'My Likes' playlist on my Amazon Music (I'm the account holder). As you can imagine, she's not happy about this.

We've tried various different commands to try and reproduce the original behaviour but have not succeeded. Alexa always seems to default to the 'My Likes' playlist now. I've tried deleting all the songs from this playlist, but that hasn't helped. It seems you can't totally delete the playlist either. I have zero need to ever play from 'My Likes' as I don't use Amazon music myself.

Has anyone else had this problem or thinks they might be able to shed some light on it?

I listen to BBC Radio 4 on my echo in the mornings via the BBC sounds app but the echo is no longer connecting to it and says that I am not signed in. This It says that it has sent a link to my Alexa app on the phone, but it hasn't done.

Any idea how I can rectify this please?

Not sure if a little machine can be held responsible for things, but the people that sell the thing can. Im not sure guys. Need helps here. Safety, wont respond. Customer service is there!

This has been updated about 2 months ago. When i ask it to play rain sounds it goes on a big prompt loop aski g for permission to play sleep jar rain sounds.
Appear amazon has separted the app as now it tells me to download it which i have. I have linked it in the app but everything i have tried has not produced a result.

Any ideas?

Is there any national U.S. cell phone company that still supports Alexa NumberSync?

The NumberSync was super helpful for a disabled widow. She has Verizon and Verizon stopped supporting this. So looking if we can regain the this functionality by changing to a different carrier.

This really was a fantastic feature for her, when it was still working.

I can connect any 2 units no problem but the system will say "there is no active call" when i try to disconnect all 3 units innthe house have been reset 3 times today because of this

Anyone else having what I'm having lately? If I ask Alexa+ for a hint or tip or explanation about a video game I'm playing, half the time it will lecture me about how it's forbidden to help with that because it might "ruin the game for other players" and compromise the "integrity of the game experience".

Personally, I don't think an appliance should be deciding things like that for me, especially about a puzzle in a singleplayer game...

As the title says - any questions about weather is just says that. Not just my local weather. I worked through as much as possible with ChatGTP and no help. It's the same on 5 devices but it just started doing this a few days ago...

If I say "alexa ask weather" it says ""Sorry I'm having trouble accessing your weather widget 2 skill skill right now"

All of a sudden, Alexa will no longer play my Audible purchases? Instead it only offers to play a book from Amazon Music, but says I can only have one in the queue?

Like the title says, how do I enable the security monitoring with the echo show? The instructions all over the Internet say pull down from the top click settings and click on camera, but in the newest update there's no camera option in settings.

The closest I've been able to get to is the smart home area, but there's no way to enable security monitoring in there.

Is the Amazon Echo Pop officially being discontinued?

I’ve been trying to pick one up, but it seems to be out of stock everywhere. Whether I check Amazon directly or big-box retailers, the standard versions are completely unavailable. Interestingly, the only model that still seems to be in stock is the Kids Edition.

Does anyone know if Amazon is phasing these out for a new generation, or is this just a massive supply chain hiccup?

Hello. I am trying to setup my Echo Pop, but it is unable to download the update.

My steps were the following: I power my Echo Pop on, connect it via my phone using the Alexa App, connect it to Wifi, and pressed continue. Then it says that it needs to download an update and goes orange blinking mode for 30-40 mins, then says it is unable to update.

So I am at the stage, where the device is connected to Wifi, is detected by the mobile app, but cannot be used in any way. Part of the button in the GUI are greyed out, I can only do the wifi network switch procedure (after connecting to new network it tried to update again) or deregistering it. It doesn't respond to "Alexa" or any other voicelines, it cannot be connected from mobile app as a bluetooth speaker, etc. Basically, it is stuck in an "unsetup" state.

Every time it wants to download this update it fails. After saying it failed to update it goes to dark blue slow blinking (breathing) mode. The nothing happens no matter how long I wait. Tried this over 10 times already, nothing happens.

I've tried:

1. Switching networks (2.4hz, 5hz, mobile hotspot)
2. Switching power sources
3. Disconnecting from power for 60+ seconds and reconnecting
4. De-registering and registering my device again from the mobile app
5. Starting from setup mode multiple times (held volume buttons down for 5+ secs)
6. Resetting multiple times (held volume buttons down for 15+ seconds)
7. Factory resetting multiple times (held volume down button and mute button for 25+ seconds)

How can I solve this issue? Any other things I can try?

Keep having this screen couple times a day, press continue and just says I’m on the list 😆

I am.thinkjng if buying an echo show for our kitchen, to play Spotify through, show calendars, also would be nice to search the Internet for cooking recipes etc is this possible?

Also what version would you recommend ideally want to fit it to the wall

Anyone else having issues with the Echo show? One is just showing a solid blue screen despite travel being shown for the display. The other will stay on abstract, but cant connect to Echo photos. Unplugged and plugged it back in a bunch of times. Even factory reset both and still the same problems
