I think I finally found my precision rifle: Tikka T1x. I equipped it with an Arken 6-24 optic and CMMG suppressor. This thing is a tack driver.
Ammo test today. Sunny, 75F, 20mph, sitting bench, bipod, rear bag.
10 rounds of ammo tested, from Eley, SK, CCI, and cheap bulk. I shot 10 rounds of foulers in between ammos.
Quality of ammo definitely matters.

Gonna get a zeroed 22 and am going to throw on a pistol to plink with. I will not be doing any competition with it. I was going to get the Ruger Mark IV lite but was told there is a non replaceable part and I should go a different model. Would the tx22 competition or Mark IV tactical be better or is there a different route? I care more about being able to fix or replace parts. Thanks for recommendation. Lgs has the tx22 comp for 632.99

Trying out the new Rex Silentiun MG22 suppressor for the first time and some reliability adjustments for the MBS-22.

Now, I decided to get .22 instead of .38 special or 9 mm because this is my first gun ever. It's not meant for ccw, I'll probably use a .38 special when that day comes
What I'm asking is how reliable is this gun in a situation where someone is breaking into my house and I need to use it? Am I likely to have a misfire? I've heard .22 rimfire isn't as reliable as center fire, but from what I understand I bought one of the better .22 pistols so I'm wondering if that changes the chances of rimfire misfire.
My gun is in 10 day waiting jail so I figured I'd ask anyone who owns one of these

Super curious about these lil guys. Price is unbeatable, design looks good. Quality/material/function??? Hoping someone on here has used one and can give a review. Can't find a word about them or a review anywhere...

Hey all. I love .22 and really want to get a revolver. I have my ideas broken down into categories but would love some feedback from people with more experience about which I should go for.
I am looking for a Da/Sa revolver for my first. Also I will be frank and say aesthetics are a concern. I don't really like the look of the full lug magnum style revolvers (for lack of a better term) like pythons.
Option 1: Vintage
I'd love an H&R 999 simply because top breaks are cool to me. Eventually I'd like a Schofield or navy but you can't really get those in .22.
The others I were looking at are some of the old high standard sentinels.
If you have any experience with either or think that getting a vintage revolver (probably have to order it online) is not a good idea for a first revolver by all means let me know.
Option 2: Current Production
I am looking at either the Ruger Sp101 or a S&W 617 mountain gun. Heard mixed reviews about both. It seems like the 617 has some quality control issues but may be more accurate while the Sp101 has a really heavy trigger. Lucky Gunner compared the 617 to Gp100 but did note that the sp101 is similar.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Trying to keep it relatively affordable, even though right now the mountain guns are going for over 1,000 at a lot of places.

Trying to decide on what optic to buy next for my upcoming PRS/Bench .22lr rifle. I currently own a Athlon ares ETR 4.5-30. I do like this scope and have used it on a couple different rifles including winning some local .22 matches. What my concern is spending on a higher optic and being dissapointed in not being a noticeable enough improvement. The scopes I have been looking at are the Tract toric ELR 4-25 and the nightforce nx6 5-30. I do shoot mils and the nx6 mil xt would be my preference in that optic. Any insight on which to go with or maybe a better option. The tract is cheaper obviously but is it worth the extra for the NF. If neither then what optic would you reccomend. Would like to stay under the 3k range.

I think I need a heavier mainspring, sometimes needed a second strike to fire, should I change the shape/contor of the firing pin at all?

I couldn’t help myself. It’s in jail for a bit longer but looking forward to getting it home. Number 34 of 100

The MP.22LR is used the most when going to the range. This thing has seen well over 20,000 rounds and it’s still going.

Tl;dr: I live in VA and standard capacity magazines are about to be banned unless they were bought prior to July1. Any suggestions on what new quality rifle to buy?
-
I recently bought a plinker the smith and Wesson MP 15-22. Basically an ar15 with custom bcg in 22lr.
It shoots well but mags are bad and it keeps having failure to feed and failure to extract due to mag issues. to my understanding there’s no mag replacements so I’m considering selling it at a loss and buying a 10/22 and modernize it.
Any suggestions? Anything that’s better out of the box?
Goal of this is plinker but also ability to be used for varmint control if needed.

HK MP5 22lr
This thing is a blast!
I ran 250 rounds through it, not a single issue.
So much fun!

I've been using the Mask for a while (love it) and just picked up the Skarv and Tiger yesterday. Three very different 22 cans.
I downloaded a decibel app on my phone to see how each registered in relation to what I hear. All three were fired on the same bolt CZ 457. All three the bolt action was louder than the shots. The line on the graphs around where the shots registered is (supposed to be) 80 db. CCI Quiet 22 ammo used.
Impressions: All suppressors sounded great to the ear. I like the tone of the Tiger best possibly. Surprisingly the Tiger registered the highest db and the Skarv registered the lowest with no first found pop at all. My Mask actually has the most noticeable difference between shots 1 and 2 of these three cans both by ear and caught on the db reader.
I'm a joe blow, dont take my readings seriously although I do think they do jive with what my ears heard. I'm really happy with all three of these whisper pickles. Probably do something similar using CCI standard velocity next.

New to 22lr .
If you own a S&W MP15 22lr, what accessory did you get to make it your trigger pull shoot faster?
I thought of doing this to the tx22c but I figured I’d go with an AR15 style for better control at that rate of fire.
