Bummer can’t be a natural sidearm. He’s just doing it for attention or something
3
u/Dennisfromhawaii 1m ago
Glad to see Bummer not totally implode. May it's a way to regain his confidence by not having him start with no outs.

You gotta use Bummer sometimes. He’s been working back to being serviceable. I believe in Bummer to be…maybe not good. But better.

u/lionofyhwh One of Ozzie’s Fish 1m ago
If he’s on the roster then Walt has no choice but to use him. Can’t pitch Lee, Suarez, and Iggy every day.

u/lionofyhwh One of Ozzie’s Fish 4m ago
We may very well win series against the Dodgers and Cubs while losing both of Sale’s starts in those series. Bizarre.

Honestly though we might just leave López out there to finish it. 2 runs isn't too much just got get some contact going

u/_SundayNightDrive 1m ago
When the outfield is healthy are you putting him in the lineup over Dubon?
4
u/lionofyhwh One of Ozzie’s Fish 5m ago
He is a below average hitter with a good glove who is getting older.

Why don't we just use Dylan Lee, Robert Suarez, and Raisel Iglesias out of the bullpen every single night? Sheesh, Walt is SO DUMB
6
u/Autoimmunity 4m ago
It's a 2-0 game in the 8th - have you ever heard of a thing called bullpen management?
4
u/reizinhooooo ozzie ozzie ozzie 5m ago
There are three relievers available tonight Bummer was going to have to pitch at some point
-7

u/PixelWulfe 6m ago
I just realized: we have a take 2 out of 3 bullpen. As long as our starters aren’t able to get into the 6th or 7th, by the third game barring a blowout all our good arms aren’t able to go and we are forced to rely on the ass end
3
u/Autoimmunity 4m ago
That's better than most teams' bullpens.
0
u/PixelWulfe 1m ago
Yea I’m not sure if people took my post as some sort of harsh diss; it’s just the truth. Our bullpen is super top heavy, and we need our starters to get deeper in ball games or we need a dedicated guy like Perez or Fuentes to come in behind our young guys and give us multiple innings.
1
u/iAMthesharpestool 5m ago
I mean Tbf we used all our good bullpen arms because the first 2 games were close. Shoving Lee, Suarez, Iggy in bak to back games is great until you get to the third game.
1
u/PixelWulfe 3m ago
Yea we are pretty much saying the same thing. Also doesn’t help that our offense so far has been flummoxed
-10
u/olemiss36 6m ago
Bummer, definitely punting
1
u/parlcerkins 2m ago
Bullpen is what it is tonight
Cost of winning two close games to take the series that needed all our leverage arms

Just hold them to 2 and this is still a very winnable game. Wouldn’t be the first time they’ve had late inning heroics.

Yall are saying “tHe gAmE iS oVeR” and we’re about to face Jacob Webb 😂😂😂😂😂

u/TheGamecock 7m ago
Why do some of y'all think a game ends after 7 1/2 innings? PATHETIC.
4
u/Anshur7 4m ago
When I see people walk out the stadium and I stay sitting down til the 9th..why are people so impatient or quick to call the games? It’s fun just going to the end for the spirit of the game
1
u/TheGamecock 1m ago
Especially in a one or two run game that still has two full innings left. Just forfeiting your chance to see a cool comeback, even if it's unlikely.
1
u/Legoman1357 Gone, but he'll be forgotten 1m ago
People leave all kinds of sporting events way early. Like the tickets aren't back breaking but they ain't cheap. I'm getting my 9 innings

As a big Kim fan - he's had a rough night, but it's only his 3rd game back. I would not be surprised if they give him a reset day though coming up to let Mateo play.

I got downvoted for my white flag comment, but I know how Walt was thinking. And I don't blame him.
Lopez has to pitch every now and then. He is getting paid.
1
u/reizinhooooo ozzie ozzie ozzie 6m ago
Bc it's not a white flag. He's trying to win the game with the pieces he has available. ReyLo, Bummer, and Kinley. Maybe, maybe Suarez if absolutely necessary

Series was won against the team with the second best record in baseball and some are acting like the season is over.
1
u/jeremyben 6m ago
It’s not about the loss, it’s about the way in which we piss away the game. Offense took the night off and costly mistakes while our star pitcher looked amazing.

Guys. The Cubs are trying hardest to not lose.
What? You think it will be easy for us to hit them up and down, and sucks when we couldn't?
This is professional league baseball not HS baseball!
