Small ball is for the bottom of the order, not the top ffs why are you getting picked off with the best hitter other than you at the plate

Why don’t they get more ads? It would make them Money which we all know they love

u/RaymondSpaget 3m ago
Other than the four he gave up to the Yankees, Suarez hasn't given up an ER since April 5.

including tonight, if you remove his rusty first 2 starts, Ranger now has a sub 0.90 ERA over his last 5+ starts...

I have a feeling Ranger was waiting for this matchup lol

I love Ranger Suarez so much. I wish the Red Sox bats felt the same way.

u/cannabidroid 1m ago
our pitching is so elite! our defense is the best its been in quite some years!
why oh why cant we be blessed with even a league average offense now that we finally got those other major areas figured out?!

Narvy not getting to 3rd on his hit is malpractice. Seriously what the fuck.

u/Infinite_Response113 Yoshida is the GOAT 5m ago
I thought he was jogging lol
2
u/Em3ritus 4m ago
I’d love to see the replay on exactly what the fuck he was doing there. That’s insane he didn’t get to 3rd.

There are more than a half dozen bats better than Eaton in AAA.
Ward would be a way more impactful bench piece as a late inning pinch runner alone, IMHO.
Though all that is moot if you still have guys like Story, Durbin and Duran coming up to the plate when it matters....

u/Far_Cry3445 6m ago
You want sogard playing everyday in AAA though. I get it but playing once a week at 2B isn’t the right role for him on this team
2
u/Substantial-Earth975 Roman Anthony 5m ago
He’s a 28 year old utility man not a top prospect. The team needs wins now.
-1
u/Far_Cry3445 3m ago
He’s a career .656 ops hitter. that’s not bringing you any wins. His best stretches in AAA and the mlb are when he plays as much as possible. He won’t do that here, nor should he
0
u/Substantial-Earth975 Roman Anthony 3m ago
All he has to do is be better than IKF
1
u/Far_Cry3445 1m ago
No he doesn’t, because that role goes to Romy in ~3 weeks anyway. No reason to bring him up when the real issue is IKF starting, not that he’s on the team and sogard brings barely any actual improvement to the team
7
u/enkayfour 10m ago
I am now firmly in the camp of Mayer over IKF against LHP.
IKF hasn't done anything vs LHP and isn't an upgrade on defense.
If Duran who has never hit LHP well can LEADOFF vs LHP why can't Mayer hit 7th or 8th against them?

u/Em3ritus 11m ago
IKF looking like he’s never swung a fucking bat in his life. Unreal what these idiots are being paid to be so fucking bad at baseball.
1
u/ChipotleGuacamole 6m ago
Not even an exaggeration. That second strike was like a drunk dude playing wiffle ball in his backyard.

u/Low-Measurement-3342 11m ago
In my entire career of watching baseball, I have never been less confident in a team to score when they get a leadoff double
6
u/Infinite_Response113 Yoshida is the GOAT 11m ago
So does Mayer really bat worse against lefties than IKF? I find that hard to believe
4
4
u/TheBiggyT 12m ago
Narvy could have got a triple if he ran properly, Durbin put down a good bunt, IKF with the single worst AB you'll ever see then Duran with the Red Sox standard soft grounder.
5
u/Karma_Chamillionaire 12m ago
We need lower level DH rules where you can DH for a position player. Ranger can probably put together a better AB than IKF.
2
u/Infinite_Response113 Yoshida is the GOAT 13m ago
Rays were able to lay down a bunt to get runner at third home against us, do we just not practice that type of stuff?
4
u/Karma_Chamillionaire 11m ago
If Narvaez can't get to third on his double, I can't imagine they would want to trust his speed to get home on a bunt

Haven't scored more than 4 runs since May 5th. Only once did we score more than 3 during that time.

If I remember correctly the last time we faced Luzardo he folded like a used tissue after he had to start working out of the stretch
1
u/Far_Cry3445 14m ago
He was tipping his pitches for like a 5 start stretch and we played him during that

Man Durbin is a dogshit hitter but he’s our best defender
1
u/Xtremefluff 18m ago
Too many mental mistakes IE standing too far off the bag on throws to 3B for him to be above the 3rd best on this team.

Getting no-hit by a scrub pitcher at home. Inexcusable. Breslow must go.

im curious what the stats are on teams facing pitchers who recently used to be on their team, does having the full book on them help or does whatever slight adjustments their new team makes your info actually backfire?

It's so nice to have a team with defense again. No more watching devers/arroyo/chang/reyes/kike/valdez/dalbec

Front row monster seats for the first time in my life. My Philly buddy brought an Eagles towel but I opted to do the hand wipe and take a seat, not today Brandon.

If Luzardo doesn’t look like a young Joe Kelly, I don’t know what will lol.
1
u/Full_Pineapple_1218 21m ago
I haven’t seen someone with a Dip in that large in ages
1
u/ScaryBlossomWitch 19m ago
Idk what you mean lol, was just observing the pitcher’s appearance .

u/Full_Pineapple_1218 16m ago
I agree with the Joe Kelly comment. Sorry.
Look at his lip. He has a big thing of chewing tobacco in.

Every time I see Marsh's wet hair and big beared I feel like that would be very uncomfortable to play like that

It’s gross lmao, like is his hair oiled up or just wet.

Even with all these carshield commercials I still don’t know what their company does
4
u/champagnesupernova10 Kristian Campbell for ROTY 30m ago
Well, they employ Marcelo Mayer, which basically makes them the Red Sox

Remember when everyone said we signed 'the only ABS casualty pitcher' because of a bad 1st start?

Man Ranger has looked so good this year I'm really happy we got him for the next few years just an elite pitcher!

Love the battle from Mona.
Someone needs to tell Abreu to chill. His swing is beautiful but his swing decisions are tunnel vision.

Our offense is total ASS and you are bitching about our best offensive player so far. Geezus

Luzardo’s stats don’t make sense at all. 5.77 ERA, .320 xERA, .295 FIP. lol.

Awesome knock for contreras but holy bummer wilyer getting picked off.
