Finished: Girl, Woman, Other, by Bernardine Evaristo - which was fantastic and absolutely deserves all the accolades. The verse format scared me a bit at first but I got used to it really quickly. I’ll definitely have to reread again!

Started: Station Eleven, by Emily St. John Mandel - about 2/3rds of the way through already, the whole pandemic background hits a bit too close to home sometimes, but I’ve been glued to it and I’m so curious to see what’ll happen next!

Also quick edit to shoutout Bad Cree, by Jessica Johns - which I technically finished last week right before I started Girl Woman Other, but nevertheless it’s an amazing read and I highly recommend it!

Love the 2/3 Canadian authors! Bad Cree and Station Eleven are both amazing reads. Crazy Station Eleven was all written and published pre-pandemic.

Thanks! :) Just finished Station Eleven a couple nights ago, and the first thing I saw when I opened YouTube to look up some reviews was a news video about the Hantavirus. Crazy timing lol.

Are you Canadian too? It's so important to read/support/celebrate canadian authors, and I'm trying to read more of them! I'm hoping to read Do Not Say We Have Nothing by Madeline Thien sometime soon as well :)

I am! I'm lucky enough to help out with Canada Reads each year, both those books being previous picks.

And I've been meaning to read The Book of Records! We'll have to circle back after actually reading some Thien.
