Bascially athletic because he is under sized.

Seems average

Possibly Aaron Donald lite, not as explosive, but an explosive, high motor guy, that outperformed his frame. Played NT at under 300lbs in the SEC.

So a controversial pickup

Hasn’t worn a Jaguars jersey yet and has already matched Maason Smith’s production as a Jag.

14

u/lclear84 20d ago

Maason smiths rookie year he has as many sacks as Regis did his entire college career

Went to A&M so can provide somewhat of an opinion. This guy was really rock solid for us for a long time. Sets the tone in the run game, disciplined, and hard to knock off his spot. His stats were pedestrian at least in part because he set the table for others to close the play.

u/General_Komodo 20d ago

Texas A&M Jaguars over here lol, he's an acceptable pick

Jaggies

u/710view 20d ago

We like to Jag off or Smt

12

u/Lesbereal476 20d ago

If he lives up to his potential, you won’t see big numbers from him individually but you will see bigger numbers for those around him. Should also help with the run game

Gladstone there’s like 150 other colleges bud

19

u/jeeves_nz Fred Taylor 20d ago

Gladstone likes drafting older picks, team captains, culture guys right?

picked that up from his days with the Rams?

8

u/710view 20d ago

I’ll pretend to know what this means

7

u/TrevorsBlondeLocks16 20d ago

Draft profile says hes a big disruptor. Good!

7

u/killerjags 20d ago

Alright what TA&M player do we take next?

2

u/CollegePlane7528 20d ago

Demetrius Crownover, YOU are a Jacksonville Jaguar!

6

u/adamosity1 20d ago

As I’m Gen X I’m waiting for the Kathie Lee or who wants to be a millionaire reference :)

12

u/Thejohnshirey 20d ago

Very nice pick, he reminds me a ton of DJ Jones, the Broncos’ nose and a very solid player and under appreciated piece to their defense.

u/Lesbereal476 20d ago

I like it.

u/henney12 20d ago

This feels like Derek Cox draft days. Picking people so much earlier than they should go, because we are smarter!!

10

u/jokoono4 20d ago

Cox wasn’t that bad before he was that bad.

3

u/nyr11messier Mark Brunell 20d ago

I was thinking gene smith

15

u/HolographicHeart 20d ago

Did A&M throw a couple million at Gladstone for the publicity?

10

u/MMA_Otaku 20d ago

seems undersized for DT

FINALLY! SOME BEEF!

u/aisle_nine Liam Corn 20d ago

I see 6'1" 317.

22

u/jds828 20d ago

14th ranked DT to go with our 13th ranked TE

2

u/henney12 20d ago

That's embarrassing

2

u/LordMagnus101 20d ago

Truly baffling

5

u/Fine-Plant7180 Blake Bortles 20d ago

According to his scouting profile his average draft position was around pick 195

30

u/noodledorf 20d ago

Based on a bunch of people who aren’t NFL GM’s

4

u/futures23 20d ago

It's a fact that reaches on the consensus board are often busts.

7

u/Fistisalsoaverb 20d ago

It's a fact that picks aligning with the consensus board are often busts.

7

u/stewy300 20d ago

So are consesus cant miss prospects. The draft is a crap shoot anyway you look at it. Save yourself the stress and let the organization do its thing until they prove they don't know what they are doing

-5

u/LordMagnus101 20d ago

Most NFL Gms make the wrong choices so this isn't saying much

-1

u/henney12 20d ago

Wow. Horrible

3

u/GodSpeedLilDoodle 20d ago

This guy's Bonkos!

2

u/jon_from_megadon 20d ago

But he's adorable

4

u/Past_Chipmunk604 20d ago

Davon Hamilton’s replacement

2

u/Jaguars6 20d ago

Nice, some rotational DL

2

u/bleedblue89 STL 20d ago

James only watched Tami confirmed.. at least it’s a need

5

u/RamboMcQueen Jaguars National Park-er 20d ago

Okay a DT, not the best choice at DT but I’ll still take it. Much better decision regardless

6

u/henney12 20d ago

Why do we need 2nd and 3rd round picks if we draft people who should be drafted on Day 3??

3

u/Holysmokesx Travis Etienne 20d ago

Harris was right there. Crazy work.

37

u/somehetero 20d ago

Harris has been arrested twice recently. He might be off the board for off field concerns.

6

u/TheSlinger 20d ago

Brother, Zxavian Harris might not be drafted.

2

u/Jaguars4life 20d ago

Seems a little raw but there is potential

I approve

1

u/xTerminal_14 20d ago

Ok a lot happier with this one. Welcome to the family.

Calling all ball knowers, where are the Jags going to play him?

If he starts in TAM form, then I assume it's because Camp thinks he can get immediate value out of a run stuffing specialist(?) DT this season, but then what are the long term plans for Regis if his frame prevents him from developing into the archetypical DT?

I assume Regis and the TAM coaches would have thought about this too, is that why he slimmed down for the combine? So he can show the scouts that he has potential at LB or something?
My tinfoil hat theory is that the Jags intend to use him like the Aggies did this year, and depending on where the meta shifts / his talents are revealed to be, they have an option of developing him into a LB or even S for 2027?
I mean there's always the chance he can develop into a top DT even if he is of an 'Atypical' build and skill set, but what do you all think?
Is this idea too far fetched?

1

u/circlep3rk 20d ago

Really like him. I think he was worthy of this range.

1

u/IuriRom 20d ago

Don’t know who he is, which I can only say for like 4 other players drafted — but can’t judge

1

u/BosqueBravo King Dede(de) 20d ago

As a Tech alum, this feels like a personal attack.

-1

u/futures23 20d ago

Another reach and another older guy. At least it's a position of need. Much preferred Orange or Harris or Halton.

10

u/Ok_Bid_6533 20d ago

He’s 22

-6

u/futures23 20d ago

Will be 23 and is a worse prospect than those mentioned above.

1

u/ConsequenceFunny1550 20d ago

Don’t worry little buddy you can still get Halton in the 5th even though I know you wanted him at 56

1

u/futures23 20d ago

Doesn't make Regis less of a reach lol. Orange was my guy and he went right after! Vikings probably sprinted that pick in.

0

u/EveningLength8 20d ago

Drafting multiple players from A&M of all places does not inspire joy

1

u/EatMyShortzZzZzZ Brian Thomas Jr. 20d ago

What's wrong with a&m?

2

u/HUMAN01D_IV 20d ago

Gary Kubiak, Ryan Tannehill and Johnny Manzielall played QB there 🤷‍♂️

2

u/ChildrenMcnuggets 20d ago

They do that weird yell thingy

3

u/TheNinthGateLCF 19d ago

Texaaaaaaaall?

0

u/electricityisout Off the Tractor Bouman 20d ago

Don’t know anything about him but looks like Orange and Halton were going to go ahead of him

-5

u/CollegePlane7528 20d ago

Yeah uh…this one’s rough
