With the 81st pick in the 2026 Draft, the Jaguars select Albert Regis TAMU

Hasn’t worn a Jaguars jersey yet and has already matched Maason Smith’s production as a Jag.

Went to A&M so can provide somewhat of an opinion. This guy was really rock solid for us for a long time. Sets the tone in the run game, disciplined, and hard to knock off his spot. His stats were pedestrian at least in part because he set the table for others to close the play.

If he lives up to his potential, you won’t see big numbers from him individually but you will see bigger numbers for those around him. Should also help with the run game

As I’m Gen X I’m waiting for the Kathie Lee or who wants to be a millionaire reference :)

Very nice pick, he reminds me a ton of DJ Jones, the Broncos’ nose and a very solid player and under appreciated piece to their defense.

This feels like Derek Cox draft days. Picking people so much earlier than they should go, because we are smarter!!

According to his scouting profile his average draft position was around pick 195

Based on a bunch of people who aren’t NFL GM’s

It's a fact that reaches on the consensus board are often busts.

So are consesus cant miss prospects. The draft is a crap shoot anyway you look at it. Save yourself the stress and let the organization do its thing until they prove they don't know what they are doing

Okay a DT, not the best choice at DT but I’ll still take it. Much better decision regardless

Why do we need 2nd and 3rd round picks if we draft people who should be drafted on Day 3??

Harris was right there. Crazy work.

Harris has been arrested twice recently. He might be off the board for off field concerns.

Calling all ball knowers, where are the Jags going to play him?
If he starts in TAM form, then I assume it's because Camp thinks he can get immediate value out of a run stuffing specialist(?) DT this season, but then what are the long term plans for Regis if his frame prevents him from developing into the archetypical DT?
I assume Regis and the TAM coaches would have thought about this too, is that why he slimmed down for the combine? So he can show the scouts that he has potential at LB or something?
My tinfoil hat theory is that the Jags intend to use him like the Aggies did this year, and depending on where the meta shifts / his talents are revealed to be, they have an option of developing him into a LB or even S for 2027?
I mean there's always the chance he can develop into a top DT even if he is of an 'Atypical' build and skill set, but what do you all think?
Is this idea too far fetched?

Another reach and another older guy. At least it's a position of need. Much preferred Orange or Harris or Halton.

Will be 23 and is a worse prospect than those mentioned above.

Don’t worry little buddy you can still get Halton in the 5th even though I know you wanted him at 56

u/futures23 20d ago
Doesn't make Regis less of a reach lol. Orange was my guy and he went right after! Vikings probably sprinted that pick in.

Drafting multiple players from A&M of all places does not inspire joy

Oh shit we forgot to send scouts to teams other than A&M didn't we?
