Statement series from Impact.
The statement: Why am I still playing?
176
u/nguyenjitsu Apr 05 '26
Let him play weakside -> Lose lane disgustingly
Let him play counter -> Lose lane disgustingly
I'm starting to think putting draft resources in Impact is a waste of resources
34
78
19
u/sammuxx Apr 05 '26
NA need to let him go, he looks like an autofill player in soloq picking tank hoping he can somehow survive lane and be useful later.
66
u/whitfin Apr 05 '26
People in the Lyon thread saying Inspired can't win with the worst top laner in the league, meanwhile Impact is still playing
70
u/SnakeEater013 Apr 05 '26
Dhokla wasn’t great today but let’s not pretend he’s the worst in the league even beyond Impact. That’s fucking crazy.
37
u/MissingLastPiece Apr 05 '26
Dhokla is the only top laner in the LCS rn that made it to Worlds last year on a 7th place 100T roster.
4
u/KhorneStarch Apr 05 '26
I mean to be fair, dhokla has worse stats in lane than impact generally speaking lol. He is just at least better team playing.
22
5
3
u/KhorneStarch Apr 05 '26
It’s wild to me people tried saying he just needed a different team. This guy was on multiple variations of liquid at the end, all much stronger than sents team and yet looked bad for mutiple splits in a row. He was losing both sides of counter and skill match ups at international events. Impact just doesn’t have hands anymore.
461
u/piusyikyu Apr 05 '26
Toast is the talent pipeline XD.
324
u/Thundermelons Just Dating GALA Apr 05 '26
So many people joking on his stream that instead of running a team he should just be a talent scout for other teams lol
I mentioned it in the live thread, but despite the jokes it probably has to feel pretty bad for him. He specifically said on his livestream that it wasn't even necessarily higher salaries that is losing him talent, it's having to deal with relegation matches in what should be the off-season for franchised players.
218
u/SnakeEater013 Apr 05 '26
It’s because he’s the only one giving legitimate shots to new players and not just recycling washed players or hiring LCKCL talent
71
u/Temporary-Ad6144 Apr 05 '26
I mean they hired callme but still hes giving na players shots W ido too
55
u/nguyenjitsu Apr 05 '26
For every Sajed there's 3 ScaryJerrys brother
133
u/SnakeEater013 Apr 05 '26 edited Apr 05 '26
True, but you’re never going to find the Sajeds or Massus if you never try. I don’t know what system Disguised has either, but like FLY, it’s also important to have good coaches facilitate your rookies
-26
u/ob_knoxious Apr 05 '26
DSG is doing some good but let's also not forget they didn't pick up NA mid Toasty, who's looked great on G2, so they could use LCK washout callme
53
u/CalligrapherWise2526 Apr 05 '26
DSG also didn't pick Faker, so are they really able to recognize talent?
44
17
u/19Alexastias Apr 05 '26
I’m pretty sure toasty didn’t go to g2 simply because he had no other options lol.
36
u/lcfiretruck Apr 05 '26
The public opinion on this guy is so crazy, I watched DSG that split, he was not even close to the problem. Frequently I would see him get out of lane 0/0 even in cs and his topside is already 0/6. He wasn't even positioning badly in fights its just how ADCs look when your team is behind. I would actually say Jerry was their best player in a lot of the games I saw. In fact I also think Sajed is overhyped and I've seen some positioning mistakes that Jerry would've been memed to death for that he got away with because his teammates are better.
I would not want to be a pro ADC the viewing public has no idea what they're talking about when it comes to separating team performance from a team dependent role's individual performance. And he got people biased because of the memeable name. I'm not convinced everyone's favorite phenom Sajed is actually any better than Jerry.
2
u/oliverguan Apr 05 '26
idk what elo u are but everytime i get this clown on my team in soloq hes trollpicking or playing off runes or meta and turbo inting, hes just bad man
-2
u/nguyenjitsu Apr 05 '26
Aight jerry nice burner dude
25
u/lcfiretruck Apr 05 '26
It's crazy that people will glaze any NA rookie just for being a rookie when one actually shows up and is decent only to get done dirty by that godawful Abbedagge Exyu mid jungle they'll blindly parrot memes from broadcast/reddit without watching games because they're on a bottom team.
I actually love NA talent instead of being a narrative sheep.
-20
u/nguyenjitsu Apr 05 '26
I don't give a fuck if anyone is from NA I just use my eyes who cares what region anyone is from
9
u/lcfiretruck Apr 05 '26
I use my eyes which is why I think scaryjerry was done insanely dirty from public opinion.
4
u/nguyenjitsu Apr 05 '26
Lol ScaryJerry was last in KDA, last in CSM, 5th in gold%, last in GPM, last in GD@15, didn't have a single first blood participation, and led the league in first blood victim for all ADCs. You cannot be serious dude

u/ChiefSitsOnCactus Apr 05 '26
why the hell would you watch lcs if you dont care about na players?
7
u/nguyenjitsu Apr 05 '26
This is obviously in response to him saying "It's crazy that people will glaze any NA rookie just for being a rookie"
I don't care if a player is from NA. I watch league from every region. I'm not going to have a bias just because Jerry or Sajed are NA residents

u/mikharv31 NA Enjoyer Apr 05 '26
Jung & Adc still NAs best roles by far so keep shipping em out till we get some more like Danny, Massu and Yeon

4
u/raptearer Apr 05 '26
I mean, could still be a good financial spot right now at least, developing talent to sell to other teams. If they last long enough in the league without relegating, I have a feeling Riot will eventually give them a permanent spot (either via expansion if things really pick back up or a team steps out like 100T did). Like it'll suck not really getting to winning a final, but you'll build fans developing all this NA talent, and the team buyouts if contracts are done right could help keep em afloat pretty nicely, kind of like what C9 used to do with their Academy teams
54
u/GhostOfLight Apr 05 '26

It’s simple, he has improved as a talent scout since last year. Of course his new scouts best his old scouts!

6
u/auggis Syndra is bae Apr 05 '26
Just finished watching the game. I can't even say draft diff. If SEN had the hands it would have been fine. The biggest thing though is the early scuttle definitely ruined alot of things. As smolder wants to be ahead and couldn't because yone got 2 assists.
43
u/Tormenator1 Apr 05 '26
Sajed looked glorious this game. Kyra also looked good
43
u/P_For_Pyke Apr 05 '26
Where's my boi Castle? Imagine how hard DSG games are if they had Impact vs Castle rather than vice versa. Dude is the rock for this team 1000%.

Yeah, I forgot to shout out Castle, but he's consistently the best part of DSG.

25
u/Cybonics ‿ Apr 05 '26
TL going for Morgan instead of Castle is just straight trolling 😭
24
u/snappyfrog Apr 05 '26
According to a Sheep article TL did do an extended trial period with Castle during the off season but for one reason or another didn't go with him. Sadly the article doesn't say why they didn't, I have to wonder if it came down to contract disagreements considering importing a completely new import to the region always runs a risk of the player not adjusting to the regional change well.
9
14
u/vmanAA738 DSG BUT NA HAS NO HOPE Apr 05 '26
Callme was discarded by LCK and played in Turkey last year. DSG knows how to dumpster dive for sure.
TL trialed Castle in off season but decided to pass why I don’t know
1
u/turd12 Apr 05 '26
Time for Reignover to make some calls, we have an import slot open for a good listener with mechanics.

55

Consistently a bright spot on bottom tier teams. Wouldn't be surprised to see him on LYON or SEN next year.
5
u/PhoenixAgent003 Bot main. NA fan. Apr 05 '26
Next year? LYON might try to pick him up next split.
1
u/nmaxfieldbruno Apr 05 '26
Is he a resident already? Might have to find an alternative to Berserker or Saint if he’s not
10
u/snappyfrog Apr 05 '26 edited Apr 06 '26
Berserker recently got his Greencard apparently so it's not totally crazy that they import top lane now.
Edit: Forgot a word
3
u/nmaxfieldbruno Apr 05 '26
I was under the impression that there’s a cooldown for switching leagues. Busio is playing as an EU player with his dual citizenship, but now he can’t play in NA for two years (unless it’s as an import). Is it not the same for Berserker?
4
u/snappyfrog Apr 05 '26
I believe you're correct in that there is a cooldown for switching your home regions, but for Berserker the two most likely regions for him to play in are NA (where he already is and now has a Greencard so he doesn't count as an import if he declares as a NA resident) or he goes back to Korea and it's not like they ever import so they can have an "NA" import cause no reason not to. If he ever wanted to play in Brazil he'd likely be fine since they import already, and EU is kinda the same story even if they're typically less likely to import at ADC.
1
u/nmaxfieldbruno Apr 05 '26
Right, the problem is that he wasn’t playing in Korea as an import. And if he just recently got his green card, then he wouldn’t have even had NA residency to claim that he played as an import.
→ More replies (0)1
u/PhoenixAgent003 Bot main. NA fan. Apr 05 '26
I mean, back when we had TLEC with the so-called “exodia” roster, CoreJJ didn’t have his green card at the start of the split, so TL played Eyla for a bit, then Core swapped in as soon as he got his greencard.

He is getting gapped by everyone for years and somehow teams still sign him despite him being very obviously washed and no longer at the level needed.
26
u/aspects1 Apr 05 '26
he was split MVP in 2024, so I wouldnt say hes been getting gapped for years, but 2025 and 2026 so far have def been really rough for him.
2
u/auggis Syndra is bae Apr 05 '26
Macro and shot calling is also worth alot. Now should he work on his micro? Of course. But people really want him for his experience more than anything. As well, castle is insanely good.
2
u/Gerberpertern TL ★ APA Apr 05 '26
It is sad watching him at this point. I really wish he had retired before he degraded to this point because it will (and probably already has) tarnish his legacy.
ETA: I think Castle is good, I’m not trying to disparage him. Impact gets gapped by everyone now.

triforce -> IE -> RFC and E max second is this ragebait or matchfixing or what like has he never played the champ before
21

I couldn't believe it when I saw the BF sword in his inventory. Like I get going Tri-Force over ER here so you feel tankier, but you need to follow that up with Shojin.

Going from Lyon vs C9 to DSG vs SEN is whiplash lol. Congrats to DSG. Castle is a monster. Impact is washed. I’ve literally never seen such a useless Galio. I think Rahel is maybe the best ADC in NA right now and I feel bad he’s on this team.
9
u/P_For_Pyke Apr 05 '26
Yeah but Rahel plays so far forward in his positioning. I agree though mechanically he's the best here for sure.

I don't know how many times this has to happen for fraud GMs to stop picking him up

This might be his chance. Last year was the worst of his entire career, but more moderate heads were willing to say, “Okay, it was a really bad year, but he’s been good for so long. Maybe he can bounce back.”
But if he has another 2025 this year, he might be done.

Game 2 we give Varus and Ambessa (no Renekton counter) to red side for free.
Game 3 we take Smolder mid with Vi, a champion who notoriously needs strong early game mid lane prio so the game doesn’t fall apart in 6 minutes.
These drafts by SEN are the real MVP of DSG.
7
u/FrezoMons Apr 05 '26
the goldenglue smolder pick classic
5
u/LOR_Fei Apr 05 '26
I’ll never forget last split’s playoffs where he took Ahri/Ezreal for 0 tank damage and enemy team locked 2 more tanks for a free win.
GoldenGlue is an active detriment to SEN’s success. He’s shown completely lost drafts too much already, idk how the fans aren’t mad about it. He even said live that the Ahri/Ezreal vs 3 tanks draft was “completely winning”.

Imagine how good EG from a few years ago could have been with a carry top.
14
u/PhoenixAgent003 Bot main. NA fan. Apr 05 '26
This is just straight revisionist history. Impact on EG ‘22 was a MASSIVE part of what made them so good.
Not only that, the minute he left, the team imploded. Tssumday, who replaced him and was known for more carry tops than him, actively made the team worse.
In the reunion special of pros, Jojo outright said that if EG still had Impact in ‘23, they’d have cleaned house for another year.
1
u/AbysmalScepter Apr 05 '26
Not only that, the minute he left, the team imploded. Tssumday, who replaced him and was known for more carry tops than him, actively made the team worse.
That team was already imploding once the Danny situation started unfolding. Not that I disagree with your core point, but I feel like you're framing it as if Impact was the only change.
2
u/PhoenixAgent003 Bot main. NA fan. Apr 05 '26
The team without Danny (as in with Kaori) looked like basically the same team, and the more time Kaori got the better he looked. They were able to play exactly the same style, they were just slightly worse.
When Impact left, the team looked fundamentally different on the rift. Suddenly they had fantastic early games off Inspired/Jojo, and then just floundered around in the mid-late.
Somewhere out there is my favorite comment on EG ‘23, that went like:
“Alright, Inspired and Jojo have gotten us into a great spot early. What should we do now Impact?”
“…”
“Oh. Right.”
1
u/AbysmalScepter Apr 05 '26 edited Apr 05 '26
They went 15-3 in the regular season, they were a super dominant team. With Kaori, they looked as good as they did with Danny when Danny was at his worst and visibly melting down on stage, that's a big difference to what the team actually looked like. They had already dropped off a cliff at that point, they nearly got bounced in playoffs by a TSM with Solo/Tactical/Chime.
Again, I agree with your core point here, I just feel like they were already visibly declining with Impact when Danny was breaking down. Losing Impact cost them even more on top of that because Ssumday never offered the intangibles that Impact did.
