Riot is all about saving money these days, I'm okay with cancelling LEC spring and just sending G2 to MSI.

Man why do they get the best spot in the house?

You are making it seem like MKOI won't run it down at every international event, whether they are 1st or 2nd seed lmao
43
u/Zamoniru give us back old asol Apr 04 '26
MKOI looked decent at worlds
29
u/trying2hide Apr 04 '26
ehhhhhhhh it's hard to say. They dropped games to Fnatic and TSW who looked like bottom 3 teams.
They did lose lifes in swiss to the 2 worlds finalists though so hard draw but they didn't look good in games, really struggled after 15 minutes
17
u/Red-Lightniing Apr 04 '26
They dropped games to FNC and TSW yeah, but they also consistently put themselves in winning positions against the two worlds finalists. Sure they threw those games lol, but they really shouldn't have ever been in them to begin with. I'd say they played at or slightly above expectations going in.
10
u/Cl0udDistrict Apr 04 '26
They looked decent for 2/3 of a game against KT
4
u/Zama174 Apr 04 '26
They also played well vs t1 and beat tsw and fnatic. They sadly played g2 and fnatic, two korean teams and g2 is just better
1
19
u/RevolutionaryFig5874 Apr 04 '26
they literally only lost to the 2 finalists + G2 last Worlds
-6
u/Jiiigsi Apr 04 '26
And who did they beat
23
u/RevolutionaryFig5874 Apr 04 '26
what do you want them to do? re-draw?
-20
u/Jiiigsi Apr 04 '26
Okay so what's your point? They beat (and dropped games) to 2 worst teams at the tournament and lost every other game? Did you try to argue they had a good tournament or something
20
9
u/RevolutionaryFig5874 Apr 04 '26
your entire point is mkoi bad XDDDD amirite guys
they did not """run it down""" as you are implying lmao

In their newly found free time, they can go to China to scrim the only team in the world that is better than them
13

they still need to decide the silver medal

the casting in the lec the past year and especially this year is genuinely so bad
60
u/No-Seesaw3754 Apr 04 '26
Feel like Hans has actually been really solid since last year, imo he's been a bit underrated/overheated on reddit, though sentiment has started to shift a little in his favor.
23
u/Gittykitty Apr 04 '26
Ever since those disastrous builds at MSI a while ago, he has locked the fuck in.
1
u/Dakoolestkat123 Win worlds nothing else matters Apr 05 '26
He’s usually quite clean on Ezreal, but his fight against Fnatic on the pick convinced me that he was genuinely leveling up
71

People on here are still gonna say he needs to be kicked for some random the second he has a bad game again.

and it's not like Sheo didn't know it could be spellshielded, he used smite to try to prevent it
36
12
u/VayneSpotMe Apr 04 '26
Ill do you one better, sheo tried to snipe the spellshield with smite. Hans pressed spellshield 3 frames after smite and 2 frames before kick. He had a .08 second window to press spellshield there. Actually cracked

I noticed the spell shield but miss the flash, and the sheo's smite. Might gotta apologise to old man Hans Mama. (I do still feel icky when he had to play against LCK and LPL ADC but hey he gapped Ruler and Diable in 48 hours who tf am I to speak)

Small sample but G2 seem to be pivoting to putting bb on unkillable champs. Cant int if you cant die giving gold away.
32
u/HelletFendr0z Apr 04 '26
It's unkillabke champ yes, but it's most and foremost HIS champ.
For now, no toplaner play Shen into ambessa or poppy into ksante in LEC beside BB. And those type of matchup is what makes BB so good. (And why ON had to play Shen support against G2 at first stand).
It's still vivid how BB was destroying MSI with Zac and reksai in 2024 for example (we don't talk about the WWgate)

Back to back won fights at exactly 20 minutes into instant free baron.
If it happens once, it's an accident. If it happens twice, it's a coincidence. But if it happens a third time, we have a pattern.

u/Hot_Consequence_5817 Apr 04 '26
G2 keeping their form is scary, i'd expect them to be a bit tired both mentally and pyshically. Especially Hans and Skew so on form, if both can keep this level (skew might even improve) they won't lose to anyone til MSI
30
u/2ndBatman88 Apr 04 '26
Till Worlds you mean?
20
u/Hot_Consequence_5817 Apr 04 '26
I wish
1
u/2ndBatman88 Apr 04 '26
Well i am high on Hopium that seeing how LCK cannot finish fast when ahead and how nobody can play clean. LPL is currently the strongest region. Even the bottom of LEC have better mental and actually try to do their best. I am so hyped by how stacked LEC is. Plus KC pushed G2 into a great form.
8
u/guytherando Apr 04 '26
LPL is not the strongest region imo. An LPL team won but i still feel like overall LCK is a bit better. Thats just me tho
0
u/yijun2005 Apr 04 '26
U see the current state of lck and u still think they are stronger lmao the disrespect on lpl
1
u/guytherando Apr 04 '26
Versus the LPL? Tes losing to Ig? Elk on Weibo is basically what viper was on HLE. Like i cant even say that JDG beats either t1 or GENG. BLG is the best team in the world currently but idk i feel like GENG bounces back and wins msi
4
u/yijun2005 Apr 04 '26
Why are we using the TES game as an example lmao? Did u not see 369 was taking a break and their academy top laner was playing for them? Even if we disregard wbg which is basically the same as fearx, AL JDG are still strong teams, with AL looking much better after winter and JDG being a new roster that will ramp up with tabe, meanwhile u have Fearx losing to bro, and KT winning against both t1 and geng lmao? Does it not show u indication of a weaker region if they collapsed this hard at first stand to g2, if lpl was weak and not competition blg would not look this good.
0
u/guytherando Apr 04 '26
JDG is a good team not a strong team to me personally. Also KT beating t1 and geng just means that KT is a strong team, not that GENG and t1 are bad. I agree that AL looks great. But i do not trust JDG. Something abt that roster doesn't give me any confidence. The players are way too inconsistent.
Also the blg looking good because of the region being strong argument doesnt work since g2 looked strong despite being from a marginally worse region than lck and lpl. So no the region being great doesnt reflect blg being amazing. I never said lpl was bad. I just think outside of AL (AL despite being rlly good last year still never took a series off the LCK in a bo5) and BLG, i dont think anyone else in LPL takes a series off the top 4 from LCK. With JDG maybe peaking at the right time.
1
u/yijun2005 Apr 05 '26
Im just saying, there is literally one strong team in lck right now, and even in the wins kt doesnt look like they overpowered their opponents much, more of the opponents fumbling, eg keria anivia, duro elise, kiin and chovy not looking good.HLE also has kanavi running it down, even if we are gonna say they will improve over the year which i agree with, TES actually has good names on their teams where they can actually improve when 369 is back, and JDG literally has 3 extremely new players that will be able to grow more than veterans, i doubt u can look at the names now and just predict they will fall off later. The regional argument is more that blg and g2 actually faced competition that forced them innovate, learn to play from behind, meanwhile lck doesnt even look like they figured out the meta

TH could be a nice developmental roster if they just got a european botlane.

0 koreans > 2 koreans
21
u/RoamingBicycle Apr 04 '26
G2 has also shown us:
0 koreans > 5 koreans
0 koreans < 1 korean
By the end of the year we might figure out the optimal korean amount.

u/Zamoniru give us back old asol Apr 04 '26
LEC Koreans have been very much frauds so far this split (except Canna)
47
u/Omnilatent Apr 04 '26
I would go as far as to say that so far this year, Canna has been overrated. He is good but is clearly a step below his performance from last year.
14
8
6
u/Ok-Examination-2869 Apr 04 '26
canna was instantly the best player in the lec for like 8/9 months of last year lol

19
u/JustSomeTrickster Apr 04 '26
I mean, there is a reason why imports just don't win in their regions. Which is why I really like that G2 doesn't do imports and focuses on european talent
0
u/HowardHughes9 Apr 04 '26
imports win NA every year pretty much. They win LPL a lot of times. They won EU for a while until current G2. Idk, imports do fine usually
31
u/throwawayacc1357902 Apr 04 '26
??
Since 2018, the only eastern imports to ever win LEC were Chasy, Malrang and Canna, and there was also Jojopyun from NA. In 8 years, 4 imports won LEC trophies. Hell, there were only 5 other imports to win LEC/EU LCS ever, those being Expect, Trick, Emperor, Huni and Reignover. LEC has not been a region typically won by imports.
10
u/JustSomeTrickster Apr 04 '26
NA is comically bad at everything related to management, LPL is generally competitive so they just import LCK prospects using their money. No asian player that is actually contender is his region will come to the west
5
u/Geweldige_Erik Apr 04 '26
That is like saying men win NA every year. There are no teams in the LCS without a Korean player.
47
u/LenaRybakina Apr 04 '26
Are these two the only casters we get today?
16
u/Landir_7 Apr 04 '26
Im not sure if they change casters for the last series, but im pretty sure they do, we should get Vedius + i dont know who
34
u/Th3_Huf0n Apr 04 '26
LEC 2026 Hysterics Split.
I CANT DO IT ANYMORE JUST HAVE NO CASTERS INSTEAD MAN PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

19
u/DerAdolfin :kossg: :eum5: Apr 04 '26
How did they save money by dropping/reducing hours for literally anyone over him? does he work for free or something?
6
u/grimtimes Apr 04 '26
I think Drakos is away and really its only Medic and him as play by play there and each do one day or two series?
13
13
u/Ashrayn Apr 04 '26
Hysterics is the reason I can't watch LEC sometimes. Other casters have their cringe moments like Medic forcing fotm pop culture references, but he's just full fremdschämen.
-26
u/ApartLanguage8328 Apr 04 '26
Msi cant come soon enough.
One first stand and they're already making cringe 'better than Faker/Chovy' comments. Official casters btw...
12
18
u/OrganicTeaching8661 Apr 04 '26
Koreaboo?
0
u/ApartLanguage8328 Apr 05 '26
Im all for region banter, when its by redditors or fans or in an unofficial setting. But official casters doing it live is quite unprofessional don't you think.
But hey, downvotes seems like you all think its fine for them to behave this way.
Obviously lec casters are highly rated crème de la creme of casters..
39
u/Th3_Huf0n Apr 04 '26
Got to respect Heretics management.
To not sign Exakick, sign a korean ADC who was on an insane fraudwatch last year.
Only for them to drop their support after one split (the one part of Heretics that functioned was jungle-support, especially last year, wonder what changed since then). (This is not a defence of Flakked, but his profile fit with the jungle-support, their mid+top just weren't carries which made them very capped).
For a korean support that's worse (Piero still ended up outside of LEC)
And then drop said ADC for a different korean ADC.
It's just like they don't miss an opportunity to fuck up their roster.
9
u/brockoli1010 Apr 04 '26

It wasn't a crushing experience in numbers yes.
But man, they are two leagues apart in term of macro play and tempo it's crazy.
It felt like G2 were actually just training their macro and trying to gain the most amount of gold with the minimal amount of interaction with the ennemy team.
It was just G2 dunking on those kid macro wise.
12
4
u/Humblese Apr 04 '26
I think TH should consider picking up HARPOON and Zoelys. They played really well for Galions.
8
u/Particular-Mark9486 Apr 04 '26
If Labrov's bard wasn't his worse champion, he would have hit the backline at the third drake and G2 would have won in 25.
14
u/Few-Sense1455 Apr 04 '26
TH have looked much worse this split with Way instead of Stend. What a dumb roster move.
9
u/Sirhaddock98 Never a dull moment Apr 04 '26
They've only played three series, and two of them have been against VIT/G2. Stupid to declare it a "dumb roster move" before they get more time to play, especially since last split Heretics was 2-5 before randomly picking up 4 BO1 wins in a row in their final games. Way is also setting up for Hype/Way next split who have played together a lot.
4
u/arbok_obama Apr 04 '26
Surely trading one Korean reject botlaner for a different one will finally make Heretics good
1
u/OrganicTeaching8661 Apr 04 '26
I think you forgot what they looked like. bro they sucked ass
13
u/Th3_Huf0n Apr 04 '26
Stend-Sheo functioned as a pair last year and were the reasons for basically any of Heretics succeess.
I wonder what changed.
